Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!-Chapter 670: Where are we?
"I found a way to leave this place." Noah suddenly stated, looking at the bored look on Elyisa's face.
"What?" She perked up after hearing his voice and looked at Noah with an eager look on her face.
"Step aside." He walked towards the wall that she was leaning against and spoke softly. Once she moved, Noah placed his hand on it, and an image appeared on the surface.
He looked at the image and took his hand back an inch and…
Bang!
The force from his shoulder charged through his arm before striking at the wall after coming out of the one-inch punch.
The energy moved from his arm to the wall like a ripple caused by a stone thrown in a dead calm pond.
Boom!
Cracks appeared on the wall before it crumbled, and all the debris flew in the opposite direction. The darkness in the room started to recede as the light from the outside came pouring in.
"Why would you do that?" You said you solved the riddle!" Elysia pouted a little in dissatisfaction while glaring at Noah.
Noah chuckled when he saw her react and poked her puffed-up cheeks with his fingers. "There was no puzzle; sometimes people tend to see the simplest things as the most complicated ones."
"So there was no puzzle in this place?" Elysia's pout turned into a groan of frustration. She flailed her arms in the air, seeking comfort from Noah for even the smallest issues.
Despite being older than Noah, she was acting like a spoiled child looking for attention.
Noah raised his hand and patted her head, moving it slowly along her silly hair. "Come, let's move on to the next one."
As a result, she appeared to have let go of all her grievances and melted into his touch. Like a docile kitten, she leaned on his shoulder and moved in the air as Noah walked out of the area with her.
Stepping out of the not-so-closed room surrounded by walls, Noah and Xin Yan felt light assaulting their vision.
As the brightness faded from their eyes, their surroundings sharpened—and they froze.
"Space laws?"
"Definitely sensed it this time."
As Elysia asked for confirmation, Noah nodded smoothly.
Before them was nothing else but the same three-walled room that they had just left, and the pieces of the fourth wall were lying at their feet.
At first they did not seem to understand what was happening, but then it became clear—
Boom!
The walls moved towards the center at the same time. Two walls crushed the third wall when they collided against each other.
The dust settled, and the pile of broken stones at their feet made them realize what would have happened if they had not left the area when they did.
Elysia blinked blankly before she patted Noah's head with a look of affection. "I am no longer angry at you for using brute force."
Noah's lips twitched, but he did not bother responding, as his attention was somewhere else at this moment.
Once the huge four-walled room collapsed, he could see what lay beyond that. Stretching out far beyond what normal eyes could see was an endless maze that was filled with and made of flora and fauna.
And from the looks of it, the maze he came from was not even the entire thing; he had covered nothing but one thousandth of the entire thing.
Several hedges, blooming vines, and man-eating flowers were sprouting up from the tallest of the walls in the distance.
Once they opened their mouths, these attractive, bioluminescent, man-trapping flowers glowed and let out a pink mist that Noah recognized instantly.
'That mist can knock out a Golden Core Realm Expert, and that flower could even digest that expert before the dusk turns into dawn.'
Looking around a bit, he noticed trees thick enough to look like walls from close up and tall enough to let someone ascend while climbing them.
And the entire thing altogether, the real maze. It pulsed, its contents shifting every so slightly as if the maze itself was breathing.
"Did we really escape that without doing nothing and fooling around?"
Elysia chuckled wryly at his words, "Guess you are really lucky to have me by your side. Being the will of the world, my luck is beyond the charts when it comes to anything associated with my world, even the adjacent world connected to it."
"So you are my greatest cheat?" With a raised eyebrow, Noah approached Elyisa and spoke in a flirtatious tone.
"You bet." Elysia immediately became smug. She reached out to tickle Noah's nape with her seductive touch.
"There is a reason I am your sugar mommy."
"Oh, we are not touching that topic." Noah backed away and pointed at Elysia when he saw the strange gleam in her eyes.
"Mo, come on!" She pleaded with a puppy look, her hands tucked behind her back and her legs rubbing against each other.
"Nu-uhh." But despite her efforts, our mage god showed no hesitation in his refusal.
"Woah, look at that. It looks like the maze was not the only trail there was." Noah pointed beyond Elysia.
To their left, the terrain was nothing short of violent. In the distance he could see several elements just like the maze aligned alongside, and each one was more dangerous than the other.
There were jagged fire-rocks, pierced upwards like sharpened fangs; veins of burning lava could be seen moving around them like a live pulse.
The air itself twisted under the burning heat of the lava.
Then right beside this area was a river of blood flowing through the mountain of corpses, bones, and skulls lying around like scattered rocks.
Everything might look like nothing much, but the amount in which they were present, one might not even be able to see the other lands while still standing inside one of them.
Elyisa was annoyed at his change of topic but reluctantly followed his gaze with a blank expression.
Staring at the ghastly skull-shaped wisps of smoke coming out of the blood river, Elyisa frowned before looking away.
"Quite the trail this place is." She whispered abstractedly.
There were other places on the same side that were filled with other elements such as the ones before her.
A land filled with nothing but mountains of rocks, from what she could see.
Then there was a land where they could see nothing but darkness. Others who knew nothing better could confuse it, thinking the sun had set in this place.
From the corner of her eyes, Elysia saw Noah looking on the other side, to their right.
And as she had thought, that place was also filled with its own specialized lands.
Like a world of mirrors, unlike the one they had encountered before, it seemed to have been manifested in and out of existence.
It seemed so real yet fake at the same time.
The mirrors shifted in and out, moving up and down. There was a veil of thin energy weaving through the air; the pink energy materialized in different forms: fox, snake, and even lotus.
But at the end it dematerialized into what it was, a pink mist.
The mirrors reflected several things: forests, mountains, rivers, towns, and capitals, but what they failed to reflect was the area right next to them.
A thundering wasteland.
Noah and Elsyia could hear nothing from the distance, but they could see dense clouds gathering in the sky, bolts of lightning gathering in them, striking random places from time to time.
From the head and the swirling winds rose several tornadoes, powerful enough to uproot mountains, crumble them, and throw them in some place.
Whatever was left untouched by the destructive forces in the area seemed to be lucky, yet it had not the slightest bit of life force.
Noah glanced at the last area he could see from the place he stood.
A dark forest—tall, thin trees twisted toward the sky like skeletal hands. Pools of black water covered the forest floor, occasionally bubbling before popping.
The area itself seemed ominous just to look at.
"Where are we exactly?" Elysia mumbled heavily.
Noah raised his head and looked in the sky. "Looks like we were really lucky."
"Hmm? Why do you say so?" Elyisa looked at him confused. Seeing him looking up, she followed his gaze, and her eyes widened.
The sky had not changed. It was the same glowing canvas with a starlike existence visible.
Yet something was different about it. The huge, sun-like glowing object that should be far away from them was now hovering right over their heads.
Noah looked at Elysia and smiled, "We managed to cross that wasteland and reach the center of the floating island in less than half a day."
The joy and surprise were evident in his voice. In his happiness, Noah hopped towards shocked Elysia, and under her stunned gaze, he cupped her cheeks and kissed her on the lips.
"I am really lucky to have you." Elyisa was too stunned and broken to even register his words, and Noah seemed to have not seen her reaction as he turned around and looked around the area.
"We can try doing a lot of things while the other takes their time to cross their trial." His eyes gleamed sharply as he looked around and mumbled.
"Life is good."
