Getting reborn: I will make a harem this time.-Chapter 99: An invitation letter
Chapter 99: An invitation letter
"That’s great news," Ayesha said.
Elenaor looked at her, seemingly noticing her gaze wasn’t focused on her and asked,
"You don’t look that happy. Did something happen?"
Ayesha was taken aback, she was facing a battle of her own choices, whether to stay quiet or confront her.
"No. I am just... wondering about something." She said, her voice low and filled with a bit of sorrow.
"Is something really okay with you two?" Then Ayesha asked again, still not trying to seem obvious.
"Hmm? What do you mean? You sound strange today, Ayesha. If there is something you wish to ask, just do it." Eleanor replied to her.
But even though she said that, Ayesha still couldn’t ask him to tell her directly, so instead she asked, "How did he share his mana with you? And it won’t harm him, right?" Also showing her concern for Ravi.
For her, Ravi is still a child, and she feels that it is actually Eleanor who is making him do such things; she has no idea how her kind and saint-like son actually is.
"No, it won’t harm him. As for how he shared it with me, that’s a secret." She playfully put her finger on her lips and made a keep-it-a-secret move with it.
It wasn’t too hard to know how Ayesha felt at that moment, but she still kept silent and didn’t ask further.
Seeing that she wasn’t saying anything, Eleanor smiled a little and moved on to chopping vegetables again.
She was actually planning to make high-protein foods that would increase stamina.
I don’t think I need to explain what it was.
As she was about to begin cooking with that same melodious humming sound, Ayesha went near her and started to help her.
And during that moment, she asked after her long silence,
"Is Ravi fine with it? I mean, with sharing his mana with you?"
Eleanor didn’t speak for a second and replied to her after that, "Yeah, he is. We had a talk before that about this, and we both knew what we were doing."
Ayesha once again went silent after that, and so did Eleanor.
They found out that it isn’t what they were talking about.
The words meant something else, but neither of them said anything.
"So, can you gather mana now?" Ayesha asked again.
"Umm, no. Not yet, I can only use a bit a very small bit of my mana, I think it will take a while before I can get to the point where I will be able to gather mana." Eleanor calmly answered her.
"So he needs to share his mana with you for a longer time?"
"Yeah, it seems like it. Do you hate that idea, though?" Eleanor asked.
"I don’t know. I cannot say if it is good or not." Ayesha was puzzled, and it was clear on her face.
Even Eleanor, who wasn’t even looking at her,, could tell that much.
Seeing her in this predicament, Eleanor decided to ease her a bit and said,
"I can understand how you feel, Ayesha. I know you are concerned for him. But I can assure you, there is nothing wrong with it. I might seem like a bad mother who is using her son right now, but you will understand it in future." She then stopped what she was doing and turned her face towards Ayesha and spoke again, "Just wait for the perfect time, I will explain everything to you. I am sure you will understand me then, I have faith in you."
’Just wait, Ayesha, until I clear everything with him. I will tell you everything when he is ready to speak his truth to me. After that, we will live as a happy family with nothing to interrupt us.’
Ayesha didn’t say anything again. There was nothing she could say right now.
The only thing she could do right now is to wait... wait for that right time. But she couldn’t understand what it could be that would help her to understand the intimate relationship between a mother and her son.
So she decided to stay quiet for now, but she still doesn’t know how she is going to live with this truth.
"Madam, a letter has arrived in your name."
At the same time, a maid holding a rectangular letter in her hand came near them and handed it over to Eleanor.
"A letter? For me? Who even knows that I live here? And who will even send a letter to me? Who is it from?" Eleanor was confused at first and then asked the maid.
"This letter was given to me by the messenger of the Royal family. He didn’t say much and left quickly after." The maid responded, bowing her head deeply.
Eleanor nodded at her and said, "You can go now."
The maid swiftly left after the order.
"If it is from the royal family, then it must be from that king Edward. He is the only one who knows that you live here." Ayesha added after the maid left.
Eleanor nodded her head in thought.
"Yeah, I also think that. But what does he want now? Wasn’t that time when he insulted us enough?"
"Well, let’s see what this letter is about first," Ayesha said.
And so, Elenaor opened the envelope and took out the piece of paper which had gold imprints on the edge. Even the letters on the paper were written with a golden ink, but it wasn’t actually gold, a mineral similar to gold, but only looked like gold.
She opened the folded paper and read what was written there.
"Dear hero and also the saintess...
I know both of you sluts are living in that same damn castle. I have no respect, nor would I give you the honours. I am writing this letter myself so I can express my true feelings to you. 3 days from now will be the day when I will hold a grand ceremony for the awakening of my son.
I would like to invite both of you there, and would like to know what your answer is for my proposal that day, I hope you two will accept it and become my mistress. I would love to force you both on the same bed.
Do come, my personal slaves."
Eleanor’s hands trembled while reading that letter, and so did Ayesha’s.
They were both fuming with rage.
Never has someone ever dared to talk such nonsense about them.
"He has gone too far this time," Ayesha spoke with rage, her eyes glaring at the letter handwritten by the king.
"Yes, he has. If I could, I would have ripped his arms off and fed them to the dogs." Eleanor spat with equal fury in her words.
Both of them knew that it would be impossible.
They were weak before him, that was why he dared to speak such things towards them.
Ayesha could have just told her mother about this, and she would have definitely punished him for that, but for Ayesha, that king has more value than her right now.
He is a force, a warrior that they need and not her.
So she was silent in front of her mother.
"He is calling us there... it is definitely not for the awakening celebration of his son, nor is there an answer to that proposal. He clearly has something else in mind." Ayesha said, getting the bigger theme that the king has set for them.
"Yeah, if it was just for that, he wouldn’t have sent us an invitation to provoke us."
He was definitely setting something else. But what it was, they would find out only after they went there.
But will they go even after knowing that it is a trap for them?
Then suddenly, Eleanor remembered what happened that day.
The scene of three men taking the king away after Ravi confronted him flashed through her mind.
But even after that, if he is going after them, then there must be something he has planned.
’I need to hide it from Ravi. If he knew about this, then he would definitely be furious with him. I do not doubt his ability, ty I cannot take the risk of putting him in harm’s way
Deciding to hide it from him, Eleanor hurriedly tried to put it away, then suddenly...
Ravi came down the stairs and asked,
"What invitation letter, Mother? You two seemed to be tense after reading that."
