Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire-Chapter 50: Mother’s Misunderstanding
Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Mother’s Misunderstanding
"What?"
Ted froze, unable to react for a moment, his mind going blank.
"You didn’t know? Silver dragons most often transform into the form of young girls, the very appearance you just saw."
Noah watched the young man’s changing expression, finding it amusing, and lightly added the final line,
"Regardless of gender."
"So that was... a male dragon?!"
Ted’s response wasn’t slow; his mind instinctively reached a conclusion, and then he went rigid, as if struck by a petrifying ray. The blush quickly faded from his face, turning gray, as if severely shocked.
"You weren’t just attracted to my fellow metal dragon, were you?"
Noah didn’t intend to let the young man off, even though this guy was just recovering from a major upheaval in his life, but who let him start showing his true nature again.
Although as the sole heir, Ted had the responsibility and obligation to strive for the family’s prosperity, this guy was just too indulgent.
Before his travels, he had entangled with numerous noble maidens, and during his travels, he was involved with several female adventurers. Practically a walking seed-spreader, though the germination rate of those seeds was quite worrying.
"H-how could that be?"
Knowing the other was male, Ted certainly wouldn’t admit it.
"He was beautiful, wasn’t he? Have you forgotten how you praised him just now?"
Noah’s tone was teasing, with an unmistakable glee in watching the young man’s predicament, utterly unhidden. Or rather, it was completely undisguised; he was plainly enjoying the joke.
"Stop it. How could I have known that your Metallic Dragon Race had such dragons?!"
Ted was notably irritated, causing Noah to burst into laughter he could no longer suppress.
"Just now, you looked like you knew the Dragon Clan well. Don’t be like that; I really appreciated that confident look of yours. Try to bring it back."
"Impossible."
The Light of Fighting Spirit had already ignited on the young man; he was nearing a berserk state.
"Sigh, I somewhat regret telling you the truth. The transformation technique of silver dragons is the best among the Metallic Dragon Race, or rather, the entire Dragon Clan.
Although a male dragon, the girl he transforms into is likely flawless. I should have waited until you started pursuing him to reveal the truth."
Seeing the young man in such a state, Noah couldn’t help but show a look of regret, appearing deeply remorseful.
"How do you know the girl he transforms into is definitely perfect?"
Ted’s face had turned completely dark.
"I don’t know, maybe he kept the most obvious characteristic of being male. Sigh, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have warned you; I should’ve let you discover the truth yourself. Although the probability is very small, there’s a tiny chance something might have happened."
Hearing Noah’s increasingly outrageous comments, the young man, wrapped in a blazing fighting spirit like a torch, couldn’t hold back any longer and lunged forward,
"Noah!"
"What’s up?"
The long-brewing Word Spirit activated instantly; thick as a python, chains of light extended from the void, tightly binding the outraged youth in mid-air.
The instantly cast Word Spirit couldn’t trap the youth who had already mastered the Radiant Light Power, but the Word Spirit that consumed nearly a third of Noah’s spiritual and physical power had a different effect.
Clang! Clang!
The chains, clearly formed by condensed elements, emitted a screeching sound like metal rubbing as the young man struggled.
"Too impulsive. Next time, remember to hide your intentions before making a move."
Noah remained composed, as if he had everything under control, even began to instruct the youth.
Ted remained silent, yet the fighting spirit erupting from within him grew increasingly intense, practically like it was ablaze, illuminating the flower garden with pure golden radiance, visible even from Elisium City below.
Clearly, this Son of Legend was infuriated to the boiling point by the Golden Dragon, entering a berserk state.
However, before Noah could cast another Word Spirit, a giant Mage’s Hand appeared, slapping the youth into the ground, shattering Noah’s Word Spirit in the process.
"What are you causing a commotion here for?"
The Lady, clad in runed robes, her elegant and noble figure appearing in the Golden Dragon’s front garden, looked with a slightly cold expression at the offspring climbing out of the dirt pit.
"Mother!"
The young man, hair still clinging with damp soil, lowered his head, not daring to meet the eyes of his mother, who looked even younger than him in appearance alone.
"It’s nothing, we were just messing around."
Noah quickly spoke up.
"Is that so?"
The lady mage stared at her offspring.
"Yes."
Ted replied somewhat sullenly.
"This guy just fell in love at first sight with a silver dragon."
Noah lacked any discretion.
"Noah?!"
The young man was a bit embarrassed and angry.
"A silver dragon?"
Selena’s expression also became somewhat strange, the earlier coldness melted away. Her face twisted with an odd expression as she looked at her offspring,
"That’s a male dragon!"
"Noah already told me."
Ted responded gloomily.
"So, do you still have any thoughts now?"
The Lady’s expression was a bit nuanced; although she wasn’t very old, she had seen many scenes and heard of many things.
"I didn’t know at first, now that I do, of course I have no thoughts."
The young man promptly said.
"Hmm, I’m not so old-fashioned; even if you indulge a bit more, I can tolerate it, but you must prioritize the family’s bloodline inheritance."
"Mother."
Ted’s voice rose slightly.
"I am now going to discuss your marriage with your father. In this matter, you have the right to choose, but you don’t have the right to refuse."
After saying that, Selena’s figure disappeared from the garden, and the hand Ted had just raised fell weakly.
Ted didn’t dare to think about what image he would have in the minds of his mother and father.
"Noah!"
The young man looked at the culprit, but unfortunately, Noah felt no guilt and instead righteously made a demand,
"You should be grateful and present me with a gift. Without my warning, you’d really be done for.
Although a portion of male silver dragons like to transform into young girls’ forms, it doesn’t mean they want anything to do with other males."
More open-minded silver dragons aren’t nonexistent; after all, high-level transformation technique can fundamentally change gender and even allow for pregnancy, but such silver dragons are exceedingly rare.
"Then I truly thank you."
Ted gritted his teeth.
"I dislike such insincere gratitude; I believe only shining jewels can express your gratitude."
Noah spoke leisurely.
