Goodbye, Ex-husband! I'm Pregnant with Your Uncle's Child!-Chapter 51 - The atmosphere froze for a moment
51: Chapter 51 The atmosphere froze for a moment
51 -51 The atmosphere froze for a moment
In the morning, the nanny brought in a package.
“Sir, you’ve got a package.”
Noah glanced at the handwriting on the note attached to the package and saw the sender’s name was Julia Land.
He opened the package and, seeing the doll inside, had someone take it to Bella’s room.
Arabella came downstairs and overheard Noah’s instruction.
She saw the exquisite doll in the housekeeper’s hands, smiled, and asked, “Who sent Bella this gift?
The doll is very pretty.”
“It’s a gift from Julia Land.”
After Noah finished speaking, he took the coat passed to him by the butler, draped it over his arm, and said, “I’m off to work.”
Arabella heard the name Julia Land, suppressed her anger, and with a smile, gave Noah a peck on the cheek.
“I’ll be attending an event later too.”
She watched as Noah got into his car and drove away.
Once the car was out of sight, she turned and walked into the living room, then made her way upstairs to her daughter’s room.
Arabella picked up the doll and pinched its eyes, denting them with her fingernails.
She carried it into the bathroom, turned on the tap, and wet its head under the water.
The doll’s head got drenched.
Arabella walked out of the bathroom with a cold expression, dropped the doll on the floor, and called for the nanny.
“The doll got wet because Bella peed on it,” Arabella said while changing her daughter’s diaper.
“Take it out and throw it away.
If he asks, say it got ruined by Bella’s pee.”
“Yes,” replied the nanny as she picked up the doll and was about to leave but got called back.
“Clean the floor again; it’s filthy.”
The nanny nodded and left the room.
Meanwhile, Noah’s car had left the Imperial View Gardens not long ago, and Alexander Strong, sitting in the passenger seat, turned to discuss the day’s schedule.
“Director, we have a meeting with Mr.
Sullivan at Strong Health Technology at ten.”
Noah paused his scrolling on the phone and responded with a simple, “Mhm.”
The partnership between the two companies would involve shares, profits, expenses, risks, and such matters.
As it neared half past nine, the Quarter family’s employees drove to the entrance of the Strong Health Technology building.
The car door opened.
Noah stepped out, dressed in a black shirt and white suit pants, and as he looked up, he saw Julia Land.
“Good morning, Director Quarter, Secretary Strong, good morning everyone, please come this way,” Julia warmly greeted.
“Good morning,” Noah nodded to Julia.
Alexander smiled at her too.
Several department members who came with Noah also recognized Julia and greeted her in turn.
The group entered Strong Health Technology.

Julia, wearing a mermaid-style skirt showing off her slender waist, led the way.
In the elevator, she pressed the button for their floor.
“Director, did you receive Bella’s gift?”
The elevator filled with a light scent of women’s perfume.
Julia stood next to Noah, looking up at him with joy in her eyes.
“I did, thank you,” Noah replied tersely.
He watched the reflection of her figure on the elevator doors as they ascended.
Once inside the conference room, the representatives of both companies began their meeting.
The meeting lasted a while.
Thomas Sullivan had finished one cup of coffee and fancied another to wake himself up.
He gently tapped his cup.
Julia, understanding the cue, picked up his empty cup, and, noticing Noah’s coffee was nearly finished, reached for his cup as well.
Their hands briefly overlapped, carrying a hint of warmth.
The atmosphere paused for a moment.
Julia’s hand was soft, her nails painted a delicate pink.
She withdrew her hand.
Noah glanced at her hand, took a sip of his coffee, and set the cup down.
Only then did Julia take the cup and leave the conference room.
By the end of the meeting, it was one in the afternoon.
Thomas showcased a smile, “Director Quarter, would you like to try Strong Health’s lunch?”
Noah turned to pass the documents to Secretary Strong, “Sure.”
A group of people went to the restaurant.
“Secretary Land, how do you think the lunch at Strong Health compares to that at Quarter Family?” Thomas Sullivan asked, turning his head towards Julia Land.
“Both are pretty good,” Julia Land did not fall into the trap set by her current boss and laughed, “But no matter where, if you eat the same thing too often, you’ll get tired of it.”
Thomas Sullivan snorted, “You should have said that the food at Strong Health Technology tastes better than Quarter Family’s.”
Julia Land smiled and went along with him, saying, “Yes, the food at Strong Health Technology is tastier.”
“That’s more like it.”
The tone of their conversation was casual, and they seemed to get along harmoniously.
Noah Quarter listened with a cool expression.
At the restaurant, the two bosses shared a table, while Julia Land, with her food tray, was about to sit at the neighboring table with Alexander Strong.
Thomas Sullivan called out to Julia Land, “Secretary Land, come over here and join us.”
When the boss spoke, Julia Land carried her tray over and sat down.
Thomas Sullivan noticed the array of dishes on her plate, “Eating so much?”
Aren’t all girls on diets?
Julia Land gave him a look, “I happen to like the dishes today.”
She pushed her plate towards Noah Quarter, “Director Quarter, can you give me the onions?
You probably don’t like them, do you?”
She had amnesia, but she could still vaguely remember some of his preferences.
Noah Quarter looked up at her, his gaze complex for a moment.
“Secretary Land, what do I dislike then?” Thomas Sullivan raised his eyebrow.
He had heard about Julia Land’s feelings for Noah Quarter, but he hadn’t expected that even with her memory lost, she would remember her ex-husband’s preferences.
Julia Land replied with a sincere smile, “I don’t know what you dislike, but I do know what you like.”
Thomas Sullivan raised his brows in amusement, “Oh?
What do I like?”
Julia Land tilted her chin up slightly, “The dishes in your plate are all your favorites.”
“….….”
After the meal, the people from Quarter Family left.
Julia Land returned to the office and began organizing the materials sent up by various departments today, bringing them into the CEO’s office for Thomas Sullivan.
Thomas Sullivan, with his legs crossed, was sitting on the sofa smoking when Julia Land entered.
“Noah Quarter will marry Arabella Shaw.”
It was a sudden statement.
Julia Land was somewhat surprised that he would say such a thing out of the blue.
Thomas Sullivan let down his legs, sprawled in his chair, and bit his cigarette.
“I was a schoolmate with Noah Quarter.
I personally witnessed his love affair with Arabella Shaw from start to finish.
Noah Quarter was very persistent with Arabella Shaw.
Sometimes, when you hold on for too long, it becomes hard to let go, regardless of whether the love remains.”
Julia Land’s fingers were ice cold, but she still managed to flash a brilliant smile, “That’s why after Arabella Shaw came back, we got a divorce.”
After the divorce, both moved on pretty well.
Why would Arabella Shaw still try to deal with her?
“You understand your own situation; there’s no need to cling to the past,” Thomas Sullivan said, glancing at his wristwatch.
“Help me deliver a painting to my cousin, Chloe Sullivan at Green Auspice Villa.”
Recently, with some connections, Thomas Sullivan had purchased a famous master’s painting.
Chloe Sullivan was an artist, and her hobby was collecting paintings.
When Julia Land heard ‘Green Auspice Villa,’ her heart skipped a beat.
“Alright.”
She and Edward Fields carried the painting, loaded it into the car.
Edward Fields drove the car and chatted with Julia Land, “Miss Sullivan really is the darling of the Sullivan Family.”
Julia Land smiled, “That’s true.”
Naturally lucky.
She turned her head to watch the scenery outside the window; at this time, James Thompson should be at the hospital.
The car arrived at Green Auspice Villa.
Before Julia Land could get out of the car, she saw a man and a woman standing at the entrance.
James Thompson had his shirt sleeves rolled up, standing leisurely next to Chloe Sullivan.
He apparently hadn’t gone to the hospital today.
“Secretary Land, thank you for bringing the painting over to me,” Chloe Sullivan greeted with a sweet smile.
“You’re welcome.”
Julia Land did not look in James Thompson’s direction.
She and Edward Fields carried the painting into the living room.
“Just put it here, thank you.”
Chloe Sullivan happily touched the painting, her affection for it apparent.
Julia Land quickly glanced at the living room’s decor, noting many changes.
The soft and cuddly pillow she once favored on the sofa was gone.
In its place was a pillow printed with Chloe Sullivan’s portrait.
