Goodbye, Ex-husband! I'm Pregnant with Your Uncle's Child!-Chapter 55 - Leave Dunmore City
55: Chapter 55 Leave Dunmore City
55 -55 Leave Dunmore City
Thomas Sullivan pinched Julia Land’s chin.
He examined her face from the left.
And then from the right.
With an impassive face, Julia said, “Can you let go of my chin now?
This is workplace harassment.”
Thomas obediently released her chin.
He came to a conclusion, “I never imagined Secretary Land to be the legendary ‘love-struck fool.'”
Her ex-husband ignored her, yet she continued to deliver love porridge.
If this wasn’t being love-struck, what was it?
Julia took a deep breath and sneered as she handed him the documents, curling her lip, “Right, I’m a love-struck fool.
There’s a meeting at nine-thirty.”
Thomas frowned, “Who schedules a meeting at nine-thirty?
Early in the morning when the brain is still on strike.”
Sometimes Julia just couldn’t understand why this man, Thomas, could be a chairman.
One word: Fate.
Thomas cursed and quickly took the documents to get to work early in the morning.
After lunch.
Julia went to the tea shop opposite Strong Health to buy a cup of milk tea.
Just as she walked out of the tea shop, she saw Alexander Strong standing next to a black sedan.
He came over, lowered his voice, “Julia, Noah’s looking for you.
Are you available now?”
Julia glanced towards the car.
The man must be sitting inside.
“Okay.”
Alexander opened the car door for Julia and let her get in.
The car drove off.
Julia sent a message to Thomas to ask for leave before turning to Noah, “Haven’t you been avoiding me?
Why the sudden summons?”
She was perplexed.
Noah looked at Julia, his gaze complex for a moment before returning to indifference, “We’ll talk in a bit.”
Julia tore open the plastic wrapper of the straw and inserted it into the milk tea, taking a sip.
When she sucked in the tapioca pearls, a hissing noise was heard.
She was immensely happy.
Noah turned to look at her again.
“Do you want a drink too?” she raised an eyebrow, “I don’t mind sharing a straw.”
“No need,” he said flatly.
Julia shrugged, “I know you don’t like sweets.”
The car drove onto a less crowded road and stopped by the curb; Alexander got out.
Now, it was just Julia and Noah in the car.
The weather outside wasn’t great today—overcast and looking like rain.
The car fell silent for a while.
Noah’s slender fingers rested on his knee, his handsome face impassive as he said, “Julia, leave Dunmore City.
I’ll give you some money.”
Julia suddenly froze.
She looked at Noah incredulously, “What did you just say?
You want me to leave Dunmore City?”
Noah, “Mm.”
Julia burst into laughter.
She laughed until tears spilled from her eyes.
She wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes with her index finger, her lips curling up, “Why should I leave Dunmore City?”
Her tone was a mix of confusion and mockery.
After her laughter subsided, Noah suppressed his annoyance and said coldly, “What do I have to do for you to agree?”
Julia also showed a cold smile, “I’ll stay wherever I want, it’s none of your business.
If you’re tired of me bringing you porridge, I can stop.”
She opened the door, ready to get out.
But her arm was pulled back by Noah.
The milk tea fell in the car.
The liquid spilled out, splashing onto her high heels.
Julia looked down at the milk tea at her feet, her eyes reddening, then turned back to him, “Let go, anyway, I’m not leaving Dunmore City.”
Noah’s eyebrows twisted, “Julia.”
Julia pulled his hand away, opened the door, and got out.
She walked away with large strides.
The figure’s silhouette was cold and aloof.
Julia Land stopped walking only when she was in a deserted place, “That’s too much bullying.”
Alexander Strong watched Julia Land’s retreating figure and felt a vague sense of foreboding.
He opened the car door, sat down in the driver’s seat, and then heard the BOSS speak coldly from the back seat, “Call Thomas Sullivan, I want to meet him to discuss some matters.”
No matter what, Julia Land couldn’t continue to stay in Dunmore City.
Noah Quarter thought of Arabella Shaw, thought of his daughter’s face.
When Thomas Sullivan received the invitation from Noah Quarter, he raised an eyebrow, finding it strange.
Noah Quarter actually took the initiative to invite him to discuss matters.
How rare indeed.
“Tell your Director Quarter, I’m available tonight at seven,” said Thomas Sullivan before hanging up the call.

Sophia Hart rushed to the bar’s private room after receiving Julia Land’s call.
She walked into the room and saw a bottle of empty liquor on the table.
Just one bottle, that’s not too bad.
The alcohol content wasn’t high, Julia Land was still sober.
“Sister Land, what’s wrong with you?” prodded Sophia Hart as she poked Julia Land’s arm, “Drowning your sorrows in booze?”
Julia Land raised an eyebrow and smiled, “It’s not about drowning sorrows, it’s about relaxing.”
She just didn’t understand why Noah Quarter suddenly wanted her to leave Dunmore City.
It was a bit irritating.
She was never going to leave Dunmore City, leaving would mean letting Arabella Shaw off the hook.
Julia Land couldn’t figure out Noah Quarter’s thoughts for a moment.
Was it for Arabella Shaw?
Did he think her presence in Dunmore City was an eyesore to them?
Sophia Hart was relieved, “As long as it’s not about drowning your sorrows, it’s not fun drinking here anyway, come on, come on, I’ll take you somewhere.”
Julia Land smiled and let Sophia lead her out of the private room.

Upon exiting the room, they happened to see James Thompson.
He was rubbing his temples, looking somewhat weary.
“Brother Thompson!”
“Brother Thompson, wait a second.”
The first voice calling out to James Thompson was Sophia Hart’s, and the second was a sweet female voice.
Chloe Sullivan, dressed in an elegantly retro dress, trotted up to James Thompson.
Seeing Sophia Hart and Julia Land, she smiled at them and then tugged at James Thompson’s sleeve, “Brother Thompson, I’ll go with you.”
Sophia Hart went over, “Brother Thompson.”
Julia Land glanced at them and went first to press the elevator button.
As soon as the elevator arrived, she stepped in, pressed the button for the first floor, and Sophia Hart followed.
Chloe Sullivan, still pulling on James Thompson’s sleeve, entered the elevator.
When they came in, Julia Land stepped back, leaning against the mirror.
Four people were in the elevator.
Chloe Sullivan and James Thompson stood shoulder to shoulder.
Julia Land’s gaze fell on Chloe Sullivan’s fingers pulling at his sleeve.
The elevator quickly reached the first floor.
James Thompson and Chloe Sullivan got into the car in front, while Julia Land and Sophia Hart got into another one behind.
The two cars headed in different directions.
Julia Land took out her phone to play a game when suddenly a message popped up.
Thomas Sullivan, “Your ex-husband, he’s asked me to fire you.”
At this moment, in West Wealth Restaurant’s private room.
After sending Julia Land a message, Thomas Sullivan casually tossed his phone onto the table.
He crossed his arms, his eyebrows sharply furrowed, “Director Quarter, I’m really curious, why?”
Noah Quarter didn’t intend to give the reason, and said coldly, “For the new collaborative R&D project, I’m willing to give you a ten percent share.”
Thomas Sullivan raised an eyebrow, “You’re really generous.
Just for firing Secretary Land, I can get ten percent profit.
You really lose out big time, Director Quarter.
This deal is a sure win for me.”
Julia Land read Thomas Sullivan’s message and pursed her red lips, thinking calmly.
The man wanted to make it so she couldn’t stay in Dunmore City anymore.
“Sister Land, what are you daydreaming about?
We’re here,” Sophia Hart patted Julia Land’s shoulder, “Come on, let’s get out of the car.”
After Julia Land got out of the car, she sent a message to Thomas Sullivan “You’re the boss.
You can fire me whenever you want.”
