68 -68: Does This Sound Like Human Talk?
Arabella Shaw, though she looked down on Orange Brokerage Ltd., still checked its official website.
The controlling shareholder was Douglas Hayes, which had no connection with Julia Land.
She felt at ease and sent a message to Noah Quarter.
Arabella, “I’ll cook dinner myself tonight, will you come home?”
Noah was in a meeting.
He glanced at his phone, which had just vibrated, and replied with one word, “Hmm.”
Arabella actually wasn’t very good at cooking.
Her culinary skills were poor.
But when she was dating Noah in the past,
he had always praised her food as delicious.
At six in the evening,
Noah walked out of the Quarter Tower.
Alexander Strong opened the car door, “BOSS, are we having Western food tonight?”
Noah bent down to get into the car, “Back to Imperial View Gardens.”
After getting into the car, he opened his phone to check his emails.
He opened the information and photos sent by the person he had dispatched to follow Julia Land.

Photos of Julia Land grocery shopping and her delivering a boxed meal to James Thompson at the hospital.
The more he saw, the more irritated he became, angrily loosening the top button of his shirt.
Her cooking was very good.
The car reached Imperial View Gardens, and since Alexander had to fetch some documents, he followed Noah inside.
Arabella, wearing an apron, was setting the last dish on the table.
Hearing the butler announce the master’s return, she stepped out of the dining room, “Noah, I’ve finished cooking, just wash up and you can come down to eat.”
Arabella looked at Alexander, “Secretary Strong, have you eaten yet?”
Noah turned his head towards Alexander, “Stay and eat with us?”
“Sure.”
Now that they weren’t at the company, the relationship between Alexander and Noah wasn’t that of superior and subordinate.
Arabella smiled, turned around, and headed back to the dining room, going into the kitchen to prepare another set of utensils.
After changing his clothes, Noah brought the documents downstairs to give to Alexander, and the two men entered the dining room.
On the dining table were six dishes and one soup.
Alexander took one look and knew this must be Arabella’s own cooking.
He had seen the dinner Julia Land used to cook for Noah, complete with color, fragrance, and flavor.
For instance, radishes.
Julia could carve a flower out of a radish, unlike the radishes on the table now, cut into unevenly sized pieces.
Arabella laughed, “Secretary Strong, I’m not sure if my cooking suits your taste, if not, let the chef cook a few more dishes.”
Alexander, holding chopsticks, said politely, “Thank you, no need, I’m not picky.”
Noah ate with a cold look in his eyes, he took a few bites with disinterest, to be honest, it wasn’t tasty.
Of the six dishes, four contained ingredients he disliked.
His thoughts went back to Julia Land, who was delivering boxed meals to James Thompson.
Was she now happily watching that man eat?
He frowned.
Noah ate less than half a bowl of rice before putting down his chopsticks.
Arabella was a bit taken aback, “Noah, are you full already?”
Noah picked up the teacup, drank some tea, and explained, “I ate too much at lunch.”
Alexander smiled.
Had lunch been filling?
He looked at the dishes on the table and almost sighed inwardly.
To not cherish Julia Land…
Truly, different strokes for different folks.
**
At this moment, in the Sincere Heart Community Building.
Julia Land brought a big bowl of food out of the kitchen and set it on the table for James Thompson, “Eat up.”
James looked at the large bowl of instant noodles in front of him, raised an eyebrow, “Thanks.”
The noodles were accompanied by tofu, greens, ham, and pickled vegetables.
With a bite of the noodles, he discovered there was also an egg.
“Little Julia, this is so good.”
Julia, who had been scrolling through her phone on the sofa, lifted her head upon hearing James’s words and completed the sentence for him, “Little Julia’s cooked noodles, so good.”
‘Little Julia, really tasty’?
Does that even sound right?
James chuckled lightly.
He ate his noodles quickly.
After finishing and washing the dish, he came out of the kitchen and sat next to Julia on the sofa.
“I don’t want to leave tonight; Sophia won’t be coming home.”
Julia gave the man a sidelong glance and opened Sophia Hart’s WeChat moments.
Sure enough, she saw that Sophia had posted several photos of watching a performance.
“I’d like to see a show too, it’s a bit boring at home,” she said lightly, laughing.
James picked her up, settling her on his lap.
“With me here, I assure you, you won’t get bored.”
He reached for the jacket on the couch, his hand still around Julia’s slim waist.
Julia, feeling lazy, didn’t move and simply rested her hands on his shoulders.
Mischief flicked through James’s eyes.
Julia attempted to get down but he pressed her back.
“Should we take a shower first?”
“Hmm.”
In the end, they didn’t shower first.
The next day.
Sophia Hart, rubbing her eyes, entered the apartment with the intention of resting on the sofa.
As soon as she saw the messy couch and items left on the floor, she clutched her chest in pain.
She had reason to suspect.
The previous night’s program must have been arranged by Brother Thompson to prevent her from coming home!
Sophia tiptoed to the shoe cabinet and saw a pair of men’s leather shoes.
Then she noticed the men’s jacket on the floor, confirming it was undoubtedly Brother Thompson’s.
She walked to Julia’s bedroom door, knocked, and said, “I’m back, should we get a new couch?”
After shouting this, Sophia quickly ran back to her own room and closed the door.
Julia, who was still asleep, woke up to this sound.
She moved slightly.
The warm body behind her held her.
The man’s husky voice sounded in her ear, “Keep sleeping, I’ll handle it later.”
They slept until noon.
It was Saturday and Julia didn’t have to work or take leave, otherwise Thomas Sullivan would probably be cursing again.
“Do I really not need to deal with the people Noah sent?”
James Thompson stood by the bed, putting on his clothes, buttoning them one by one, and asked Julia, who was still sprawled on the bed.
“No need, let’s keep them, they might come in handy.” She had just finished saying this lazily when she felt her ankle being gripped by James.
Julia twisted her head to look at him, “Let go.”
Right now, her whole body was sore.
“Get up and eat something.”
“…”
Half an hour later, Julia, who had been carried to shower, was also carried into the living room.
Sometimes this man was really domineering.
The dining table was already set with food.
James thrust the chopsticks into Julia’s hand, “Eat while it’s hot or shall I feed you?”
Julia saw the food and felt hungry.
Without needing any prompt, she ate.
Once Julia was full, James then said, “I had someone send over a new couch.
I have something to take care of later, and you’ll have to open the door for them at home.”
Julia glanced subconsciously at the old sofa, “I’m not as thick-skinned as you.”
The man chuckled, pulling out a black mask from his pocket and placing it on Julia’s face, “I’ve prepared a mask for you, they won’t see your face.”
“…”
She sighed, “It’s like hiding your ears while stealing a bell, the deep and profound idioms.”
James pulled open her bathrobe and deepened the mark he had left on her shoulder the night before.
