Greatest Esports System-Chapter 16: New Mission
Chapter 16 - New Mission
Seughoon's gaming hours stretched on.
From late afternoon until night, Seunghoon didn't stop playing. He would only take a few breaks in between to rest his hands, go to the bathroom, or eat.
The moon was already high in the sky outside, but inside his room, Seunghoon was still completely locked in.
He, Tetsi, and Kaizen were turned into an unstoppable force.
Despite never speaking to each other in voice chat, their coordination was undeniable. Every play they made was timed. Every combo they did was synced. It was as if they'd been queuing together for weeks instead of hours.
In some matches, Red's Seryn would carry the whole game. In another match, KaiZen would carry with his jungle. In another, Tetsu's support will turn the game around.
Game after game, the three were effortlessly good.
Not once do they have a bad score. It was as if they didn't know the word 'tired'.
Tetsu and KaiZen were both amused by it. They were used to long hours of gaming. It was their work. They spend half of their time gaming every day.
Tetsu leaned back slightly in his chair, his fingers were still hovering on his keyboard. They were currently in the middle of their 10th game together.
"Bro," he said, his eyes still on the screen, "this Red guy's insane."
KaiZen didn't look up, but he still nodded.
"Mm. I thought he'd burn out by game five, but look at where we're at now."
"I know, right?" Tetsu let out a sign, dragging a hand through his hair. "So far, he has only used Seryn. Though I had to admit that his Seryn's not just clean, it's really fucking good."
"Yeah. And after ten games can you believe that he's actually getting better and better? His reflex didn't drop every single match."
"Man, I'm telling you, he's either a former pro," Tetsu muttered, side-eyeing KaiZen, "or someone smurfing."
"You think we're playing with a smurf?" KaiZen finally glanced over at him, brows lifting.
"Stupid," Tetsu gave a dry laugh. "What do you think?"
KaiZen leaned back slightly in his chair now, eyes narrowing. He pressed his lips together and shook his head. He seemed to be in deep thought.
"...Yeah," he admitted after a pause. "He's good, but we're in Arc. Certainly, he still has a long way to go. His current skills are a little lower compared to professional standards. I can feel, though, that he got more to it. Maybe it was true that he hadn't played for so long."
"Maybe you're right." Tetsu chuckled. He was in the middle lane, together with KaiZen, Red, and their ADC.
The two sat in silence for a second, just listening to the faint sound coming from the game
The three of them grouped continuously, just like they'd done in the last three games. It had become a routine. It was efficient, and most importantly, it was working.
Tetsu would set the vision first. KaiZen would then clear enemy wards like it was his work. Tetsu, afterwards, would hover near the side brush, baiting a fight. Then, the moment a single enemy misstepped...
Boom.
Red's Seryn would appear out of nowhere, casting attacks to the enemy team. Before they could even react, Voidlash would tore through the backline. It will be followed by a CC from Tetsu, and a clean attack from KaiZen.
It was almost too easy.
Tetsu checked the scoreboard.
23 | 9
Red was 11/1/8.
"Dude. This is getting stupid. If he plays like this in ranked, he's gonna fly straight to Mythic in a week." He huffed.
"Yeah. Guess we're doing him a favor." KaiZen grinned.

Back in his room, Seunghoon's screen glowed softly amidst the darkness. His eyes remained wide open. He barely moved on his gaming chair. The only sound in his room was the subtle sound of his keyboard's keys and mouse clicks as he played.
After close to 30 minutes, their tenth game was heading toward the end.
Their team was already pushing into the enemy's base. The other team was dead and wounded after losing another fight in the middle. Only two defenders remained, and they were clearly out of sync.
Seryn hovered at the edge of the final push. Seunghoon waited for just a second... then blinked forward.
Four instant casts of skills followed. They were precise and clean. The enemy marksman disappeared before it could even flicker out.
[Red has slain NightCrow.]
Just like that, they attacked the enemy's core. It flooded the whole map, before the screen became bright white.
[Victory!]
It was another win.
Another clean game for them.
Seunghoon leaned back for a moment, flexing his fingers as the end screen loaded in.
10 wins in a row.
The match total is updated automatically at the top of his screen. His rank badge slowed, shedding its silver glow and shifting into the color of bright gold.
[Arc I ⭐⭐⭐⭐-> Flare V ⭐☆☆☆]

The Rank promotion loaded in Seunghoon's screen as soon as the battle ended.

Seunghoon let out a slow breath as he looked at his stats.
What should he choose?
Seunghoon's eyes move between the four attributes on his stats.
Awareness
It was his lowest current attribute.
His weakest skill.
If he wanted to climb further and faster he needed more than just raw skill.
'Yeah. This was just right.'
[Selected: Awareness]
A soft glow lit up the screen.
