Harem God- Dimensional Motel System-Chapter 41: Interactions With the Locals 19
Chapter 41: Interactions With the Locals 19
The words ripped through him deeper than the subzero wind that followed them. He managed a step toward her, but the temperature howled him back.
Before he could breathe again, the sky split open. Shards of ice came down like bullets, slicing through the air.
Luck flinched, bracing for the impact that would tear him limb from limb. No reaction time could save him from an attack that wide.
Fortunately, a radiant wall of purple flame erupted between him and the deadly attack.
Each icy shard met its twin in heat, exploding into mist so pure it stung his eyes.
Alicia emerged in front of him, her silhouette tall and queenly. Her body ablaze with a fire that seemed almost liquid .
"Don’t be reckless. Let me protect you," she commanded.
The next instant was pure chaos: frost and fire spiraling up in a collision that cracked the space in half.
Neve launched herself skyward, a comet trailing pale blue sparks.
Alicia followed, the upward thrust of her flames casting purple shadows on the ground below.
Luck watched, half-dazed, as their duel intensified.
From somewhere deep in his mind, the system prompted.
[Warning: Threat level too high. Recommend immediate retreat. Exit this world?]
His breath hitched in his throat, as he read the line that promised safety and an escape.
It was a lifeline, a way to end the cycle of near-death experiences.
Yet, his gaze remained fixed on Neve.
Her face lingered in his mind—bright eyes, warm smile—so vivid, so cruelly out of place compared to her new form.
Above, fire and frost collided again. The shockwave rolled down the sky like thunder cracking glass.
"System... is there really no way for me to save her? Maybe... maybe if I call out to her, she’ll wake up."
[Not without severe consequences. Survival rate: 0.1%.]
"Then... do I really have no choice but to leave her here?"
The system responded instantly.
[Owner, when you become more powerful, you will be able to access the System’s world logbook and come back.]
"Come back?" ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
[Confirmed. Re-entry is permitted upon acquiring the required authority and fulfilling the cost.]
"What the hell—why didn’t you tell me this sooner?"
[Information is revealed based on current authority level and threat assessment. Emotional distress has now triggered a temporary override.]
Of course it waited until now—when everything was already falling apart.
But it was still good news.
The reason he hadn’t left her wasn’t just guilt or longing—it was fear.
Fear that without him, she would be defenseless. That if he walked away , it would be the same as leaving her to die in this forest.
Not anymore.
Up above, she moved like a force of nature.
Her attacks came faster—colder, more precise than before. She was growing stronger by the second, but so was the bloodlust radiating from her.
"System. Who do you think will win between them?"
[Probability of Neve’s victory: 59%. Rising.]
[Probability of Alicia’s victory: 41%. Declining.]
"Then... what if I wait for her to win?"
[Recommendation: Escape.]
[Neve’s brain signal levels are increasing. Chance of her going berserk and killing Owner: 97%.]
"What...? He looked up again.
Neve’s eyes had gone pitch black. No iris, no white, just a void that swallowed light. Black blood spilled from them, running down her cheeks like ink.
It dripped into the air and froze mid-flight, twisting into sharp, jagged crystals darker than night. And turning into what looks like jewels’
[Owner, please pick up those items. They could be sold for a high price.]
"Shit,"
He didn’t care about money right now. Not when she was up there falling apart.
But if these could help him grow—even just a little—then he couldn’t afford to leave them behind.
Luck knelt and began scooping the shards into his pocket. The cold bit through the fabric, seeping into his skin.
Somehow, he could feel her sadness within them—echoing, resonating with the ache in his own heart.
’Fuck... I didn’t mean to hurt her like this.’
[Warning!]
[Warning!]
Luck felt it—a shift in the air, pressure dropping like a hammer. He rolled down just as an ice spike slammed into the ground where he’d been standing.
It would’ve gone straight through his skull if not for the system’s timely alert.
thud!
He hit the dirt hard, rolled once, and looked up.
Neve was staring straight at him.
Her eyes were still pitch black, blood still streaming—but now, they locked onto him with a death glare.
There was no recognition in her face. Just pure rage.
Without a word, she raised her hand—and sent more spikes flying toward him.
Luck didn’t exit the world immediately.
He dodged, barely slipping past another spike that shattered the ground beside him—and kept moving, eyes locked on Neve’s corrupted form.
’Not yet.’
And sure enough, Alicia struck in a flash of purple flame, hurling fire straight at Neve.
The moment their clash reignited, he moved again.
More of those black crystals—Black Tears—were scattered across the land, still pulsing faintly from where they landed.
He sprinted toward them, dodging the shockwaves of their fight, grabbing as many as he could carry.
But the longer he stayed, the more unstable everything became.
The ground cracked beneath him. Magic tore through the air like lightning with no sky to hold it.
Even Alicia was starting to struggle against the ice storm that Neve was unleashing.
It was time.
Luck turned toward the sky, chest heaving.
"NEVE! I’LL COME BACK FOR YOU—SO JUST WAIT FOR ME, NO MATTER WHAT!"
His words made her stop in her tracks, and for a split second, her eyes turned back to normal.
"I will wait for you!" she cried back.
And just as quickly, the motel vanished along with him.
Midair, the two women faced each other.
Neve’s eyes darkened again, and her demeanor changed—more twisted, more corrupted. Whatever glimpse of the old her vanished without a trace.
"That young man actually left me here to fix his mess," Alicia sighed.
The contract between them was gone. No backlash. It just ceased to exist.
But that was just one less of a problem right now. Neve had already surpassed her in elemental control—and she was still growing stronger, while Alicia, on the other hand, was burning through her power.
’I need to retreat and ask for help. This thing can’t be taken down by one person alone.’
The real reason she was searching for her stepdaughter wasn’t to fight.
It was to feed Neve the Apple of Eternal Sleep—the only item known to put the Snow Princess into slumber.
Killing her outright would’ve triggered the full transformation. That’s why Alicia never attempted it before.
Unfortunately, it took her too long to locate the apple—and by the time she did, Neve ran away.
"Rest while you can, Snow Princess. Next time we meet, it won’t end in a draw"
She clasped her hands—and in an instant, purple flames and lightning exploded outward.
Neve raised her arm to block, but the blast was just meant to blind her.
The whole sky lit up—white, violet, and gold.
For a moment, everything disappeared in that searing light.
And when it faded—
Alicia was gone.
Only the echo of her magic remained, crackling faintly in the air.
Neve hovered there alone, trembling—a part of her still refusing to be devoured.
"Luck... I’ll wait for you. Please... please save me from myself."
