Wen Changling sighed, “Why are you so honest?”
Actually, she was quite fond of pleasure.
When she was making her own way abroad, she had seen grand events, and she proposed to Xie Shang without blushing or being honest, “Then let’s not bother with that.”
Xie Shang, supporting her waist to sit up straight, said firmly, “No.”
But her mood was already rising, “I’m on my safe period.”
“Safe periods are not safe.”
Wen Changling had no plans of having children, and she didn’t cherish her health. She said unburdened, “I can take the pill.”
Xie Shang’s expression was serious, “No.”
This won’t do, that won’t do, such an old fogy, a stick in the mud! Wen Changling kicked him with her foot and blurted out in irritation, “Let’s break up then, if you can’t even fulfill this small request.”
Xie Shang couldn’t stand the words “break up.”
He brought over the no longer hot cold remedy, “Drink your medicine.”
Wen Changling held her hands behind her back, uncooperative. Xie Shang was patient and didn’t get angry, his mood very stable, as he brought the medicine to her lips.
Alright, she couldn’t be too unreasonable.
Wen Changling drank the medicine, and just as she was about to complain it tasted bad, Xie Shang kissed her; at the moment she was enticed into sticking out her tongue, he picked her up, kissing her while walking towards the bed.
She was laid down on the bed, the blanket was soft, and her body comfortably sank into it, very comfortable, the blanket was so comfortable, as comfortable as his kisses.
He held one of her ankles, placed it on his leg, his right hand resting on her lower abdomen, his body pressing down.
“Do you know what I’m going to do?”
His eyes were filled with crazed, primal aggression.
They always had a great understanding, very much in sync. Wen Changling nodded, “I know.”
Her eyes shone brightly looking at him.
It was easy to lose control being looked at that way, Xie Shang covered her eyes with his palm, “Stop looking.”
With her sight blocked, her other senses were infinitely amplified.
Xie Shang took the most forceful stance, yet he was doing things to please her. Just this realization was enough to give Wen Changling a cerebral climax, where psychological satisfaction far outweighed the physical.
She could feel it, he was loving her, deeply loving her.
Xie Shang wasn’t one for dawdling and circumventing; whatever Wen Changling wanted, he generally gave it to her directly. The process didn’t last long. The closing words were his “threat,” but whether it was his voice or his eyes which were even more emotional than hers, they had no deterrent power, “Don’t say break up casually in the future.”
Wen Changling kicked him, “You’re annoying.”
“Yes, I’m annoying,” he agreed.
Anything goes, as long as it’s not breaking up.
Xie Shang adjusted her clothes for her, wrapped her up in the blanket, and then got up to take a shower in the bathroom.
A car had been parked at the entrance of the resort hotel for quite a while. The license plate indicated the owner’s extraordinary status, making the doorman hesitate several times before finally plucking up the courage to approach.
“Sir, smoking is prohibited here.”
The car window was open, and a man’s hand extended out of it, with long, slender, bony fingers holding a cigarette, its ash falling onto the snow on the ground.
The man looked up.
As their gazes met, the doorman was intimidated by the man’s eyes; even without uttering a word, his presence was enough to send shivers down someone’s spine.
The receptionist didn’t know how to save face in the situation but, to their surprise, the other party cooperated by withdrawing their hand and even apologized in good spirits.

“Sorry.”
Jiang Chengxue pinched the cigarette out with her fingers, wrapped it in a paper, and tossed it into the trash bin inside the car, leisurely wiping her hands with a handkerchief.
Having seen all sorts of important figures come and go, the receptionist couldn’t just describe this guest as capricious—their transitions between brooding and kindness were too smooth, making it hard to tell if they were human or a ghost.
The receptionist quickly stepped away.
Dai Qiu came out of the hotel and sat in the passenger seat.
Jiang Chengxue’s gaze lingered on the hotel entrance, “In there?”
“Yes.” Dai Qiu hesitated for a moment but decided to tell the truth, “Xie Shang is here.”
The blizzard hadn’t frozen her to death; instead, it had delivered her old lover right to her.
What need was there for him to come pick her up?
They were all lovey-dovey; he wasn’t going to play the monster here. Closing the window and shutting his eyes, he said, “Let’s go.”

After freshening up, Xie Shang came out to find Wen Changling sitting at the dining table, scrolling through videos and sipping porridge with a cheerful smile, her brows and eyes soft and tender, the directness of a straight woman who never minces words, “What were you doing in there for so long?”
Xie Shang: “…”
The real Miss Wen was naughty, far from well-behaved.”
Xie Shang picked up the blanket from the sofa and placed it over her feet, “Do you want to order more?”
“No need, I’m full.” The other bowl of porridge, untouched and covered, was being kept warm in a fruit dish filled with hot water. Wen Changling carried it over to Xie Shang, “I’ve kept yours warm with boiling water, it hasn’t cooled down yet.”
Xie Shang ate quickly but looked very cultured while doing so.
Wen Changling propped her chin and watched him eat, “Can the room next door be canceled?”
“No.”
“That’s a waste of money.” Although Wen Changling wasn’t short on cash, she was never extravagant and had very good habits, “You go sleep in the other room, we can’t waste money.”
She was still sick, and Xie Shang wouldn’t let her sleep alone.
“Then come with me.”
Wen Changling thought for a bit, “Never mind, let’s not mess up the room. It’s a lot of work for the staff to clean up.” They decided to sleep together, “I’m going to brush my teeth now.”
After brushing, Wen Changling lay in bed playing with her phone, occasionally coughing and having trouble breathing through her nose.
After Xie Shang cleaned up the meal box and washed his hands, he sat on the edge of the bed and touched her forehead. It was still very hot, “The fever hasn’t gone down, stop playing with your phone.” He took the phone away, “Do you feel bad?”
She nodded.
She felt a bit uncomfortable with how needy she had become in Xie Shang’s presence.
Xie Shang held her, feeling overwhelmingly full in his heart; his hands involuntarily tightened, “Changling, let’s not break up again, okay?”
Having just gotten her back, he had already begun to fear losing her.
Wen Changling cuddled her head against him compliantly, “Okay.”
At night, Wen Changling’s fever wouldn’t go down, peaking at forty degrees. The cold from the blizzard had seeped into her body, and her coughing was severe.
There was no hospital nearby the hotel, so they could only use physical methods to reduce the fever. Xie Shang tirelessly changed her cold compresses, almost staying awake the entire night, but thankfully, her temperature finally dropped come dawn.
Due to the blizzard, flights were suspended, and Xie Shang and Wen Changling stayed in Linbei for three days, spending two of them receiving IV drips at the hospital.
