Chapter 34: Beyond the limits

This strange energy covered the whole spirit herb, and in mere seconds, the entire spirit herb was refined into fine dust. This dust was the purest form of spirit herb, which is used to create elixirs or pills.

Jiang Hao became stunned. This was even beyond his expectations, as it only took a blink of an eye for him to refine it, while alchemists take far more time to reach this state of spirit herb. He had a feeling that if he used a little bit more of that power, the dust would turn into pure spirit qi, which he would be able to absorb easily.

Jiang Hao willed it, and immediately, the dust was converted into pure spirit qi and absorbed into his body through his hand.

Jiang Hao looked at his hands and sighed in amazement. This opened new ways for him to cultivate in the future. He could even absorb spirit qi from the bones and flesh of spirit beasts to cultivate. Everything that has spirit qi could be used as a cultivation resource for him.

He was worried about resources, but now everything that contains even a small amount of spirit qi would become his resource.

He picked up the spirit stone in his hand and repeated the same process. The strange field of power again formed in his hands, but this time it wasn’t able to instantly convert the whole spirit stone into pure qi.

He wasn’t disappointed, though, as he could feel spirit qi getting absorbed through his hand from the spirit stone. It was slow, but it was absorbable nonetheless.

When his strength increased in the future, he might be able to instantly absorb the spirit qi from spirit stones too.

Also, he was only able to absorb the spirit herb instantly because it was a Foundation Establishment spirit herb. If it were a higher level, the time taken would definitely be higher, just as refining higher-level spirit herbs takes longer in pill making.

The rate of absorption for the spirit stone was slower, but the amount of qi in the spirit stone was higher than the herbs, so it would be the most efficient resource for him to cultivate.

He had already decided that if he obtained non-elemental spirit herbs, he would sell them to earn spirit stones. And if he obtained elemental spirit herbs, then he would absorb them to increase his elemental affinities along with his cultivation realm.

The only issue was that he required almost 10 or 20 times the resources that ordinary cultivators need to advance, which was quite a lot.

Even ordinary cultivators had to collect a lot of resources to advance, and 10 times that amount was quite a number. He had to work hard for it.

He had a way, though. Instead of selling plain spirit herbs, he could become an alchemist himself.

In the whole upper or lower world, alchemists are the profession that earns the most, albeit it also requires a lot of funds to become an alchemist, but Jiang Hao didn’t have that problem.

With his physique, he could even become a grandmaster of alchemy easily if he gained knowledge about how to make pills and some pill formulas. And since he was the legacy disciple of Alchemy Peak, it wouldn’t be a problem for him.

For now, though, he had enough spirit stones to cultivate, so he didn’t need to worry about it.

He took out a medium-grade spirit stone and tested if he could absorb spirit qi from it or not.

To his surprise, he could absorb it, but the speed of absorption was lower than normal spirit stones. Spirit stones have chaotic qi in nature, so they are unsuitable for cultivation. Mid-grade spirit stones have more spirit qi inside them than normal spirit stones, so it was even more chaotic in nature.

He had expected not to be able to absorb them, but the result says otherwise.

He put the spirit stone back and took out a lot of normal spirit stones. He had nothing else to do right now, so he was going to cultivate.

....

Jiang Hao might have guessed that he caused another storm in the sect, but he definitely wouldn’t have expected that it would be this big.

Ming Yue was practicing her sword skills when Xin Yan came running to her. When Ming Yue saw her, she stopped and smiled.

"Is it over already?"

When Xin Yan heard that, she composed herself and took a big breath to calm herself down. She didn’t know how to say what she had just seen. It was almost impossible to believe if not seen with your own eyes.

"Senior sister, it is over, but it will definitely shake up the whole sect."

"Oh? Really? Tell me exactly what had happened."

When Xin Yan became calm enough, she explained everything she had just seen in detail.

When Ming Yue started hearing that, she was calm before getting surprised and becoming shocked in the later parts. She sighed when she listened to everything.

’Junior brother Jiang has hidden a lot more than I had expected. I have to inform aunt and master quickly. This is going to be a little troublesome.’

"You should go back for the time being. Tell me if anything new happens in the sect."

"Ok, senior sister, but will brother Jiang be ok?" She knew it was troublesome for Jiang Hao.

"Don’t worry about it. Nothing will happen to junior brother Jiang."

Ming Yue assured her.

After Xin Yan left, Ming Yue went to find her master. When she arrived at her master’s cave abode, she saw that it was open, and Huan Caiyi was also present there.

"Hmm... weren’t you just practicing your sword skills right now? Do you need some insights?" Huan Caiyi asked her.

Ming Yue shook her head and spoke.

"Aunt, something serious has happened just now."

Hearing seriousness in Ming Yue’s tone, Huan Caiyi let go of her casualness and paid attention to her. She knew that if Ming Yue was serious about something, the matter wasn’t small.

"What happened?"

Ming Yue explained everything she had heard from Xin Yan.

When Huan Caiyi and Zhi Hui heard that, they were stunned and speechless.

After a while, Zhi Hui came to her senses and looked at Huan Caiyi.

"Are we cursed or something, finding this kind of troublemakers?"

Ming Yue became red-faced when she heard that, as she knew it was aimed at her.

When Huan Caiyi heard that, she responded with a long sigh.

"After all I had done to make him not come into the spotlight, he goes and does this."

"That’s not the point, though. You know what it means to defeat hundreds of disciples, consisting of late and peak stages of the Foundation Establishment realm, while being in the Early Stage of the Foundation Establishment realm right?"

Zhi Hui pointed out her main concern, and when Huan Caiyi heard that, she looked at Ming Yue, who was already red-faced due to the earlier jibe at her.

"Which physique do you think he has?" She just asked herself that question, as she knew no one could answer that question except Jiang Hao.

She knew that the stunt Jiang Hao had pulled earlier was not possible to achieve, even if a person had a Heavenly grade spiritual root. No matter how much of a genius you are, the difference in battle strength would not reach that high. Beating someone at the peak stage of your realm while just being at the early stage is almost impossible.

It is only possible if you are an outlier in the cultivation world and don’t follow the normal way of cultivation.

These groups of people have one thing in common, they all have a special physique that they were born with.

Forget about supreme geniuses, if their physique is battle-oriented and its grade is good, then they are called Heaven-defying geniuses, as they literally defy the heavens.

Zhi Hui, Ming Yue, and she were not from the Eastern Region, they originally belonged to the Central Region. But for the safety of Ming Yue, they moved to the Eastern Region close to a Forbidden zone.

Ming Yue also had a physique, and its grade was very high. Due to what happened in the central region, she and Zhi Hui had decided to suppress her strength.

So, Jiang Hao had a physique and it might be even better than Ming Yue’s, but it was hard to believe ? Because Ming Yue had a Heaven-grade physique. She could only make assumptions right now.

"Since he knew his battle strength and isn’t afraid of showing it, I have a feeling that he had someone who guided him on his cultivation path ," Zhi Hui spoke after thinking about it.

"That would be better. It would mean that he had something to rely on and won’t be as helpless as I thought he would be," Huan Caiyi stated her opinion.

Ming Yue just stood there and listened to everything. She was feeling a little guilty because, just like junior brother Jiang, she had beaten up her sect mates in her previous sect in the central region. Because of that, they were here, hiding from many top experts who might still be looking for her.

The reason they chose Mountain Sword sect was that it was near a Forbidden zone, and if need be, in case they got discovered, they could easily escape into it.

"I think I should go and talk to him."

Huan Caiyi stood up.

"Fair enough, I will come along as I haven’t even met him. Let’s not ask him about his physique though, he might not want to reveal it. By the way, how do you think we should handle the elders this time?"

Zhi Hui also tagged along.

"What can they do? These guys might not even know what a physique is," Huan Caiyi said with a sarcastic tone.

"I doubt that. I have a feeling the founder of this sect was someone with a special physique."

"Well, you might be right"

"Forget it. We will deal with it later. Right now, let’s go and have a hearty chat with your in-name disciple." fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

As Huan Caiyi and Zhi Hui moved toward Alchemy Peak, the news about Jiang Hao’s feat spread throughout the whole sect, and as expected, it created a storm, the biggest one ever.
