Chapter 108- Silence is golden... but not for Naomi

Tyler's POV

"Tyler, don't tell me you're really going to walk up to him and tell him what I said."

Naomi's voice was sharp with panic as she rushed after me.

I didn't bother stopping. I didn't even look at her.

"I guess you're not blind," I said, still striding forward. "You see me walking toward him, and you're still asking that same question?"

"Tyler, please don't go," she begged. "You know what he's going to do to me if you tell him. Please, just save me and don't go. I don't want any more punishments!"

I kept walking.

Maybe if she learned to keep her mouth shut, she wouldn't always find herself in these situations.

"Maybe this will teach you a lesson," I said. "Maybe after this, you'll finally learn to keep your opinions to yourself instead of accusing innocent people of things that aren't true."

Naomi groaned behind me. "Tyler, come on—"

"But no, that's too much to ask, right?" I cut her off, still moving forward. "Because you're Naomi. The almighty Naomi. And your favorite hobby is running your mouth about everyone's business except your own."

She huffed, practically jogging to keep up with me.

"Tyler, please," she whined. "Don't do this to me."

Logan was still a good distance away, so I had plenty of time to hear her panic.

"If you tell him," she said, her voice rising, "he's going to kill me. I haven't even finished dealing with the last punishment he gave me, and now you want to add more?"

"Not my problem," I said flatly.

"If you actually cared about me, you wouldn't do this," she snapped. "But—" she let out a bitter laugh—"I know you don't. You're selfish, Tyler. You only care about yourself. So go ahead. Tell him. Do what you do best. Be a terrible person. I already know what you're capable of."

I stopped dead in my tracks.

What kind of game was she trying to play?

A guilt trip?

Was she really trying to make me feel bad?

For her own mistake?

And the worst part? It was actually working.

For about half a second, I almost felt bad for her.

Almost.

Then I turned around and burst out laughing.

Naomi froze, her mouth slightly open in shock.

"You were really scared, weren't you?" I said between chuckles.

Her face flushed.

I looked at her properly now, noticing how her eyes were red and teary, like she was actually about to cry.

I smirked.

"I can't believe it," I said, shaking my head. "You, Naomi? The almighty Naomi? Scared of Logan?" I whistled. "Ooooh wow. This is good to know. Now I finally know what I can say to make you do anything I want."

She glared at me.

Didn't say a word.

Just turned right around and stomped toward the car, her anger practically radiating off of her.

"Oh, now you wanna give me the silent treatment?" I called after her. "Seriously?"

She ignored me.

I sighed, crossing my arms.

Why was she acting like I was the bad guy here?

She was the one who ran her mouth.

She was the one who disrespected Logan.

She was the one who kept sticking her nose where it didn't belong.

So why was I suddenly the villain in her story?

I threw my hands up in frustration.

"Yeah, totally my fault," I muttered to myself. "Obviously."

She's going to wait.

No matter how angry she is, she's still going to wait because the car is locked, and the key is with me.

So she can cross her arms and fume all she wants, but that anger? It's just going to have to pause until she sees me again.

Tyler: one.

Naomi: zero.

I smirked to myself as I approached the car.

Sure enough, she was already there, arms crossed so tight it looked like she was holding herself together. Her foot tapped against the ground impatiently, and her glare could probably set something on fire.

I already knew what was coming.

She was going to snap at me. Throw a fit. Maybe even call me a few names under her breath.

I'd say sorry if I actually cared.

But I don't.

I unlocked the car, and just as expected, Naomi shoved the door open and jumped in before I could even get inside. Then—

BANG!

She slammed the door so hard the entire car shook.

I flinched. "Damn, Naomi. You do remember this car isn't yours, right?"

She ignored me, sitting in the backseat like some kind of spoiled princess.

I shook my head.

If she wanted to throw a tantrum, fine. She could stay mad.

Because honestly? This silence?

This was exactly what I'd been waiting for.

A full, peaceful car ride with zero talking.

Finally.

I got into the driver's seat, started the car, and pulled out of the parking lot.

The first few minutes were glorious.

No annoying voice. No endless chatter. No random complaints about things I didn't care about.

I could get used to this.

But then, when I glanced at the mirror, I saw something that almost made me laugh out loud.

Naomi wasn't giving me the cold shoulder anymore.

Not really.

She was still sitting there quietly, but this time... she was using her hands to physically hold her mouth shut.

I smirked.

She knew that if she removed her hand, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from talking.

I bet she already had a million things to say, just sitting there, struggling.

Good. Let her struggle.

Let her fight the urge to talk.

In fact, if she does try to talk, I'll just frown. I'll act like I don't want to hear a single word.

That way, she'll get the message.

This was perfect.

Two whole days of silence.

No, two weeks.

If she keeps this up, we won't talk at all during the entire trip. We'll be in different rooms, so I won't even have to see her.

And even if we run into each other in class?

I'll keep the same energy.

She talks way too much anyway. She can take a break for once.

At least when she does start talking again, I'll be mentally prepared for it.

After what felt like forever, I finally pulled up to my house.

I wasn't even parked properly when—

BAM!

Naomi threw the door open and bolted out of the car.

I blinked.

She better be careful. If she gets hit by some reckless driver running down the street, I am not going to any interrogation about what happened.

That's her problem.

I expected her to run straight home.

But instead—

She ran straight into my house.

I frowned.

"What the hell?"

What was she planning now?
