Chapter 120 - Caught

Chapter 120- Caught

Tyler's POV

"Are you deaf, or do you want me to repeat myself?" Logan's voice was sharp, filled with pure anger.

"Uh... uh... uh..." I stammered.

Fuck.

If I had any idea this would happen, I would have left Naomi to deal with the consequences alone. I told her we needed to leave, that this conversation wasn't ours to listen to, but did she listen? No. And now, here we were—caught.

How fucking convenient.

"Why are you stammering?" Logan asked, his cold eyes locked on us. "It was a simple question. A very simple one.

How. Long. Have. You. Been. Here?

Or was that too hard for you both to answer?"

"Two minutes ago," I blurted out.

"One minute ago," Naomi said at the same time.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

I am so dead.

"Didn't you both come here together?" Logan asked, his eyes narrowing.

I nodded stiffly, my palms sweaty.

"Then why are your answers different?" His voice was laced with suspicion.

Me and Naomi? We couldn't say shit. What the hell were we supposed to say? That we just happened to accidentally be eavesdropping on one of the juiciest conversations of our lives?

Logan exhaled and waved a hand dismissively. "Let's skip that part.

Why are you here?"

My heart sank.

Oh, come on.

Couldn't Logan just focus on his fight with Lucas and leave me and Naomi out of this? Why was he dragging us into it? He could've just told us to get out, but no—he wanted to interrogate us.

I shot Naomi a glare. If only she had listened when I said we should go. But no, the gossip freak refused to leave. She wanted to stay. And now? Now we were caught like two dumbasses hiding behind a wall.

"So?" Logan pressed, his patience clearly running out.

I swallowed. "Em... em... Naomi told me to come. She said she had something to say to you."

I turned to Naomi, giving her the look. "Naomi, do you mind telling Logan what you came here to say to him?"

She blinked at me. Her eyes widened in shock.

"What???"

My stomach dropped.

"That's not what I told you!" Naomi shot back, looking offended. "I never said I had something to say to Logan!"

I turned to stare at her, my brain short-circuiting.

What in the actual fuck?

Did this girl seriously just say that? Out loud?

Was she joking? Was she seriously trying to lie right now?

Wasn't she the same person who told me—at my mom's house, mind you—to come with her to Logan's place?

So why was she lying now?

Or had the gossip she was enjoying suddenly erased her memory?

I clenched my fists, my head spinning. This was officially the most confusing situation I had ever been in.

I inhaled sharply and turned to her. "Naomi, can we just skip the lie you're about to tell?" My voice was firm. "You and I both know you told me to bring you here. So instead of embarrassing yourself, how about you just tell the truth? Because I don't have the patience for lies right now."

I stared at her, waiting.

She stared back.

And suddenly, I remembered—I was also a chronic liar.

...Well.

This was awkward.

Because what the fuck is wrong with this lady called Naomi?

I had already cleared myself, and she wouldn't dare add me to her mess, before Logan suddenly decides to threaten me with some imaginary nudes, I needed to get out.

"You know what, Naomi? How about you go ahead and explain to Logan why you're here while I head to my car and wait for you there? Once you're done, you can meet me outside. I wouldn't want to interrupt your conversation, so it's better I stay in my car." I turned around immediately, not even waiting for her response.

That was the only escape plan I had. Naomi could carry her own damn cross.

Because if she hadn't told me to follow her to Logan's house, I'd be in my room, wrapped in my blankets, enjoying my sleep.

But just as I was about to step out—

"Where do you think you're going?"

I froze.

The voice was sharp, almost mocking. I turned around and saw Lucas standing there.

Oh, for fuck's sake.

What the hell was his business in this conversation? Who even called him into it?

"Don't you dare move," he threatened.

I blinked at him for a second before bursting into laughter. "Nuh uh, I'm leaving. I'm going to my car to wait for Naomi while she sorts out her issue with Logan. And the last time I checked, this wasn't your business, this isn't your house, and you're not Logan. So do yourself a favor and keep your mouth shut."

I turned again, ready to walk away.

I had no idea why I spoke to Lucas like that. Someone I barely even knew. But if he had just minded his business, I wouldn't have had to.

Moral lesson? Stay out of shit that doesn't concern you.

But just as I was about to take another step—

A hand grabbed my wrist.

A tight grip.

I looked down. Naomi.

Her fingers were digging into my skin, nails pressing so deep it burned.

"Tyler, do not fucking leave me," she gritted out. "We came together, and we are going to leave together. You are not abandoning me here."

I tried pulling my hand away, but her grip only tightened.

And just like that, my escape plan vanished.

Now I had to stay and watch this whole mess unfold.

Naomi was supposed to stay while I waited in the car. When she was done, she'd come back, I'd apologize, and we'd move on. But no. Now Naomi was forcing me to stay.

If only she had listened when I told her we needed to leave earlier, we wouldn't be in this mess.

"You have every right to listen to me," Lucas suddenly spoke, his voice sharper than before. "This is also my house. And this is my boyfriend."

"He loves me so much that he does every single thing I tell him to do."
