His Genius Wife Is A Superstar-Chapter 1612: Good Relationship with the In-Laws
In the end, Grandpa Lu hung up presumably to call Jin Chonglin and ask him which foreign website he used to name a star after himself.
Iris Long and Jin Liwei continued laughing after the call. They watched as their twins played with the cats and dogs. Well, except for Ice Cream who had no patience with any type of play that needed her to run around.
When Little Mochi started to act fussy, Iris called for a halt to the children’s play. The husband and wife herded everyone to eat dinner before getting ready for bedtime.
Jin Liwei watched as his wife expertly handled all their children without a hint of exhaustion. In fact, her eyes continued to light up with joy and excitement from the old astronomer’s incredible first-meeting gift to their twins.
Although Jin Liwei felt annoyed at his younger brother for acting so childish, he became intrigued by the foreign website after witnessing Grandpa Lu’s interest in it, too. He pondered about it while staring at his beautiful wife.
’Should I buy the rights to name a star after my wife, too? I want to buy the naming rights for the biggest and brightest star that they have available.’
Iris had no idea that her husband was thinking of copying what his younger brother did. If she did, she would have stopped him.
Yes, she was happy to have stars named after her children, especially since it was a gift from an elder. But if her husband had to buy it, then never mind. No matter how cheap it was, she wasn’t the least bit interested.
She was more interested in transforming herself into a superstar than being the namesake of an actual, physical star.
Unfortunately for her (and fortunately for him), she didn’t know about her husband’s plan.
In the next few days, Iris dove into working on her next album. She finished most of the recording except for one of the remaining collab songs.
Her music mentor, Enrique Valdez, hadn’t arranged that yet. Both of them were still trying to coordinate with the secret artist(s). The other collab songs, though, were already completed.
In the meantime, Iris and Enrique went ahead and started filming the music videos. Because both of them (including JJ) wanted this album to be the highest quality that they could make it, they spared no expense and planned to shoot music videos for all of the songs in the album.
Despite her busy schedule, Iris still did her best to bring her twins with her to work.
Little Mochi enjoyed watching her work the most. Little Matcha was also very well-behaved and rarely acted up while she worked.
Her mother-in-law also accompanied her on some days. Both Iris and Jin Liwei were trying to distract Huang Yuyan from wallowing in her grief after Grandma Li’s passing. It seemed to be working because ever since Huang Yuyan moved in with them at Dragon Palace, she had gradually returned to her usual cheerful self.
"Xiulan my dear, I had no idea that filming music videos is this gruelling," Huang Yuyan said after Iris took a short break to change her outfit for the next scene. "You must be exhausted."
"I’m fine, Mom," Iris said with a smile. "I enjoy it. Have you watched Brother Chonglin when he filmed his music videos before? His are more exhausting because his recent music has a lot of dance breaks."
"Is that so?" Huang Yuyan asked. "Your brother-in-law has never allowed me to watch when he films his music videos."
"You can always come and watch mine, Mom."
Huang Yuyan beamed. "You’re the one who cares about me the most, Xiulan my dear."
The staff working on the set couldn’t help but overhear the conversation between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. It seemed that Iris Long was loved by her in-laws contrary to some of the rumours floating around since she married into the Jin family.
They had been working with Iris Long long enough to know a bit more about her character. She never bothered to pretend to like somebody that she didn’t. They believed that the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law weren’t acting just to present a united front to outsiders. It just wasn’t Iris’ character.
They believed that if Iris didn’t like her in-laws, she wouldn’t pretend otherwise.
The fact that the two were acting like real mother and daughter instead of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law proved that the two had an excellent relationship contrary to what many thought.
Iris sat down to have her makeup and hair changed for the new outfit.
Huang Yuyan sat on the chair beside her while keeping an eye on the nannies taking care of the twins. "Xiulan, is it true that you’re leaving for the Philippines soon?"
"Yes, Mom. The Chua family delayed the launch of Orchidia Philippines to allow me to attend."
"You’re not bringing the twins?"
Iris sighed. "I would love to take them but even Dom doesn’t recommend me to bring them especially since my schedule is too packed this time. Liwei and I will take the kids with us to the Philippines next time for a family vacation. You can come with us, too, Mom, if you want."
Huang Yuyan nodded and even bounced on her seat a bit like a little girl. "I would love that, my dear. Don’t worry about the children. Mom will help watch over them."
"Thanks, Mom."
A deafening wail interrupted them.
Iris immediately jumped from her seat, not minding that there was still a comb stuck in her hair. She ran to where Little Mochi tripped and fell on his face. She was about to scoop the baby but remembered what her husband had always advised her.
Instead, she stopped just a few steps away and encouraged him. "Come on, baby. Stand up and come to Mommy."
"Wuwuwuwu." Little Mochi was extremely aggrieved but he was still very obedient to his mommy. He stood up on shaky legs and toddled to her. "Mama! Waaaaaaah! Wuwuwuwu!!! Yah yah, Mama!!! Waaaaaaaaah!!!!"
"Good job, my Little Mochi," Iris said while hugging her eldest twin son and giving his back some gentle pats. "You stood up on your own. What a strong boy! Everything is fine now. Mommy is here."
