His Obsession Began After Losing Her-Chapter 24: The Final Struggle
Chapter 24 - The Final Struggle
Upon arriving at the terminal of Fushin Airport, Noran quickly checked his phone, only to find a message from Shuri stating she had arrived ahead of schedule.
His anticipation was met with confusion as he looked around but found no sign of her presence.
He started to panic after trying several times to reach her on the phone, but he couldn't get through no matter what he did.
It was incredibly frustrating, especially considering the recent instances of being unable to contact Shuri.
After learning about her illness, Noran was overwhelmed with worries each time he couldn't reach or locate Shuri, often leading him to fear that something terrible might have happened to her.
Fortunately for him, he could access Shuri's tracker this time on his phone, thanks to a concession he had secured after persuading Karlene.
With a mix of relief and disbelief, he followed the digital trail, leading him to an unexpected place: a rundown warehouse far from the city.
Stepping into the warehouse, he immediately concluded that someone must have taken Shuri there.
Otherwise, why would his wife end up in such a remote and dilapidated location after losing all contact with him?
His suspicion was further confirmed when he spotted three burly, muscular thugs with tattoos guarding the entrance of the warehouse.
The three men were surprised to see Noran there as one of them yelled over to him, "You can't enter this place! Leave!"
"Where's my wife?" Noran demanded, approaching them with a murderous intent.
The three thugs were taken aback, realizing that he must be the husband of the woman they had captured.
So, without hesitation, they charged at him.
However, they didn't anticipate that Noran was a far better fighter than he looked.
With lightning reflexes, Noran anticipated their charge.
He deftly dodged the blow and countered with a precise strike to the thug's midsection, causing him to stagger backward before collapsing to the ground.
Meanwhile, the other two thugs closed in, and he effortlessly evaded their punches before delivering a devastating kick that sent one thug crashing to the ground.
Seeing how easily Noran could defeat his two companions, the last thug let out a fearful scream.
He ran toward the entrance, realizing he should report the intruder to his boss.
However, Noran quickly closed in and swiftly disabled him with a blow to the head.
With all the thugs down, he hurriedly entered the warehouse, his eyes widening in horror at the scene before him.
His heart sank when he saw his beloved Shuri lying on the ground, her clothes disheveled and her face bruised.
A stranger hovered over her, his hands groping her body, violating her dignity.
Despite the shock evident in her tear-streaked eyes upon seeing him, her distress was palpable.
The sight filled Noran with a potent blend of anguish and fury.
He had never felt the urge to murder anyone until today.
How dare these men hurt his precious Shuri?
Who did they think they were to touch his beloved wife and make her cry?
His mind was consumed with so much murderous intent that he didn't even remember how he knocked down the two muscular men who rushed over to him. freewebnσvel.cѳm
"Ran..." Shuri choked out his name as Lester pulled her to him, planning to use her as his shield.
Like Shuri, Lester was equally startled to see Noran appear.
He didn't know how Noran managed to locate them in such a short time, ruining his plan.
As Lester continued to watch Noran effortlessly beat down two of his best bodyguards, he realized that even in combat, Noran exuded an air of sophistication and grace.
A smirk played across his lips as he muttered under his breath, "Truly, you excel in everything..."
Such good looks, impressive physique, born of royal descent...
Moreover, he was exceptionally talented in everything he did.
Lester had always envied Noran.
Unlike Noran, Lester was not born into the Kingston family.
He grew up in the shadows, observing Noran, who was always in the limelight, effortlessly receiving the recognition he could never receive.
Lester had worked all these years for Damon, handling all his misdeeds with the hope of being accepted into the Kingston family.
However, he knew Damon would never consider acknowledging an illegitimate son like him.
Yet, Noran abandoned the last name Lester could only dream of having as if it didn't matter to him, all for this one girl, who was now in his hand.
So, how could he give up such a good opportunity to bring down his half-brother, the one he hated the most?
Lester pulled out a gun from his pocket and pointed it at Shuri's temple before shouting, "Brother!"
As the last man Noran had been fighting collapsed to the floor, Noran turned toward Lester.
His anger immediately gave way to horror upon seeing Lester holding a gun to Shuri.
"Move any closer and I'll kill your beloved wife!" Lester threatened loudly.
At that moment, Noran could feel his body heating up with anxiety and rage.
Seeing Shuri, barely breathing and covered in wounds, he wished he could skin Lester alive!
However, he couldn't act recklessly, fearing Lester would harm Shuri further.
Noran's voice came out through clenched teeth, his icy tone delivering a deadly warning.
"Let my wife go. If you dare hurt her, I'll make sure you die a horrible death."
Lester scoffed. "Hahaha! You already left the Kingston family! Who do you think you're to command me?!"
He tightened his grip around Shuri's neck, choking her harder, which made her cry out in pain involuntarily.
"Don't hurt her! What do you want?"
Noran's only concern was Shuri's safety.
"I no longer want to look up at you! I want u to get down on your knees right now!"
"Don't..." Shuri gasped.
Despite her pain, she struggled to tell Noran not to submit to Lester.
However, Noran didn't hesitate and kneeled directly, raising his gaze to Lester.
"Release her."
"Hahaha! Even the Kingston family can't control you, yet you're kneeling in front of me!"
Lester laughed as if relishing the moment.
Lester knew Noran neither knew nor cared who he was, but that didn't matter now.
He was finally on top of Noran, and as long as he had Shuri in his hands, he could do anything he wanted with Noran.
He pointed the gun at Noran and smirked evilly. "First, I'm going to break your arms then your legs. But I'll let you live, so you can see how I fuck your wife in front of you!"
"You crazy son of a...!"
Bang—!
Lester fired a gun shot, hitting Noran in the arm.
"Ran!" Shuri exclaimed in tears, her misty eyes widened when she saw Noran clutching onto his bloody right arm while glaring at Lester.
"Ran... Ran's blood... Ran is bleeding..." she murmured, her mind suddenly going blank from shock.
Ignoring Shuri, Lester continued to laugh loudly. "Hahaha! No one will call you a piano prodigy if you can't use your hand!"
"Release her..." Noran insisted, disregarding his injury.
He was only concerned about Shuri who had her face downcast now as though she had lost consciousness.
Then, more men arrived at the warehouse from the entrance, much to Lester's delight.
"Just in time," Lester smirked cunningly at Noran and ordered his men.
"Break his legs and beat him up until he's unrecognizable. You don't have to worry about him fighting back."
Lester watched with delight as his men closed in on Noran, who remained kneeling and glaring at him.
He was so distracted by the anticipation of seeing Noran getting hurt that he failed to notice something burning and Shuri's continuous murmuring, "You hurt Ran...Evil people... should burn in hell... All of you deserve to burn in hell!"
Suddenly, Lester felt a burning sensation in the hand gripping Shuri's neck.
Sensing danger, he instinctively released her, his eyes widening in horror as he noticed the surroundings beginning to ignite in flames.
"Fire! Why is there fire?!"
His men screamed in fear.
Taking advantage of their distraction, Noran quickly rushed over to Shuri, who stood there dazed, her pupils glowing golden.
"Rin!"
As Noran called out to Shuri, he saw Lester pointing his gun at her.
His instinct to protect Shuri from harm had taken over his rationality as he blocked the bullet aimed at her back using his body.
While hugging Shuri, Noran collapsed to the floor.
The bullet had hit a vital spot, but the good news was he had protected Shuri from further harm.
That would have hurt him more than the pain of being shot.
"Ran...?"
Belatedly aware, Shuri sat up and looked at Noran, her now golden pupil distorted in disbelief.
"Why... why is there more blood?"
Shuri's hand was shaking in the air as she hesitated to touch his bloody wound.
Somehow, the fire seemed to ignite more fiercely together with the anxiety she felt.
"Rin, run... Ugh..." Noran breathed in pain.
He wanted to make sure Shuri managed to escape safely, so he struggled to stay conscious, but his eyelids were too heavy, dragging him into the darkness.
As the fire grew stronger, Lester and his men had no choice but to escape.
Lester caught one last glimpse of Shuri, who was now coughing up blood while holding onto an unconscious Noran.
He smirked, believing they would die.
"Cough, cough... No, you can't die, Ran..." Shuri uttered between her coughs, her gaze shifting from Noran to the small golden plate that had slipped from her pocket.
Despite engaging in all the physical struggle moments ago, the plate hadn't fallen until now, seemingly appearing magically when she needed it most.
"Simply read the ancient inscription on the plate, and it will transport you to me, no matter where you are."
Madam Faye's voice echoed in her mind.
Without hesitation, Shuri grasped the plate and using her ability for the last time, she read the ancient text, "Freyra Ynglingar."
In an instant, the scorching heat faded away, replaced by an eerie calmness.
Shuri found herself back in Madam Faye's clinic, still clutching onto Noran, before collapsing onto the floor.
Her eyes were bleeding, and she couldn't stop coughing up blood.
"Save Ran..." she pleaded softly to the woman before them.
Madam Faye looked down at her but did not move. "Your power evolved... You're going to die..."
"I don't... care... please... save Ran..." Shuri muttered with the last ounce of strength she had.
"Are you sure? If I saved him, you'll die..."
"I'll...give... you my abi..ility... save Ran... please..."
Shuri was on the verge of death, yet her eyes never left the man who lay unconscious in front of her.
She gently caressed his pale face, cherishing his beauty and warmth one last time.
Her only wish now was for the man she loved so much to be saved.
Looking at the pitiful sight before her, Madam Faye sighed. "Alright, I'll save him."
"Th..Thank you..."
Shuri smiled with sincere gratitude as she drew her last breath.
