His Obsession Began After Losing Her-Chapter 50: The Identity of the Masked Man
Chapter 50 - The Identity of the Masked Man
Over the next few days, Noran had been constantly bringing Snowball to Shuri's clinic.
This time, he said, "Snowball wouldn't eat and even cried in his sleep. I think he's sick."
Shik, standing nearby, was speechless. Snowball was currently wagging his tail furiously and trying to lick Shuri's face, behaving nothing like a sick dog.
Shuri had anticipated Noran's visit. Part of her was excited to see Snowball and Noran again, but she was also hesitant. She knew Noran was using Snowball as an excuse to see her, but she couldn't turn them down.
"I'll run another check on him. Please wait outside, Mr. Lee," she said, maintaining her professional demeanor.
Noran was secretly upset that Shuri still wouldn't admit remembering him and was treating him like a stranger.
His jaw tightened, and a flicker of pain crossed his eyes, but he couldn't do anything about it. He just nodded and left the consultation room quietly.
As Shuri performed a quick check on Snowball, Shik stood nearby, observing.
"This dog seems perfectly healthy," he remarked, his tone laced with suspicion.
"What's Mr. Lee's real intention? He keeps coming here every day, hiding behind that mask, and he can't stop staring at you. It's almost like he's not here because of Snowball at all."
Shuri, while continuing her examination, glanced up at Shik and replied, "Don't worry, Shik. Mr. Lee means no harm."
"You know him?" Shik asked, his curiosity piqued.
Shuri didn't answer directly.
"Prepare the ultrasound test," she instructed, focusing back on Snowball as a way to avoid further questions.
Outside, Noran waited, his thoughts a whirlwind of emotions.
Just then, Jin entered the clinic.
Sora, who was in the reception area, greeted him warmly. The clinic staff had come to believe that Jin was Shuri's boyfriend.
"Are you here to see Dr. Lee?" Sora asked with a smile.
"No, just dropping off some lunch. My mother wanted her to have it," Jin replied, holding up a neatly packed lunchbox.
Sora's eyes twinkled. "You're such a sweet boyfriend, Mr. Park. Dr. Lee is so lucky. Even her future mother-in-law treats her well."
Boyfriend?
Noran's expression darkened. His jaw clenched, and his eyes narrowed as he processed Sora's words.
Jin just smiled and didn't correct her. He liked others thinking that he was close to Shuri. Then, he noticed Noran seated in the waiting area, recognizing him as the stranger who was with Shuri a few days ago.
He walked over and asked politely, "Are you a friend of Shuri's?"
Noran didn't answer, his eyes fixed elsewhere.
The atmosphere grew tense, charged with unspoken words.
Before Jin could press further, Shik called out, "Mr. Lee, you can come in now."
Jin watched Noran go, feeling a sense of unease from the masked stranger. He returned to the reception area and approached Sora. "Excuse me, Ms. Chew, could you tell me who that gentleman is?"
Sora glanced towards the consultation room and then back at Jin. "Mr. Lee? Oh, he comes every day with his dog. He only requests to see Dr. Lee."
"Every day?" Jin furrowed his brows.
"Yes," Sora lowered her voice and continued, "Although his dog seems perfectly fine, he still comes. I don't know why he's doing this. Is he interested in Dr. Lee?"
Jin kept quiet and thought of the possibility. Then Sora added, "He appears like a stalker, always wearing that mask so you can't see his face. I wonder why Dr. Lee is alright with it."
Jin nodded thoughtfully. "Shuri is too kind. She probably doesn't want to turn anyone away."
Sora agreed, giving him a concerned look. "You're right. But I think we should keep an eye on him."
"Yes, we should," Jin replied as he handed Sora the lunchbox. "Can I trouble you to pass this to Shuri? I have an appointment to attend. If anything comes up, let me know."
Sora nodded with a smile. "Sure, Mr. Park. I'll let Dr. Lee know you drop by."
As Jin exited the clinic, his expression changed to a determined look. He paused and glanced back at the clinic, unease about the masked man gnawing at him. His thoughts grew serious and contemplative, unable to shake off the sense of foreboding.
Previously, when he had asked Shuri about the stranger, she had dismissed his concerns, saying the man was merely Snowball's guardian.
Her reluctance to discuss it further had stopped him from pushing the matter, but now he realized he couldn't ignore it any longer. There was something off about the whole situation, and Shuri's evasiveness only added to his suspicion.
He knew Shuri well enough to recognize when she was hiding something. Jin resolved to dig deeper and find out who this masked man really was and what his intentions were with Shuri.
So, after work, Jin drove to Riverpark Residence, a luxurious apartment complex known for its tight security and beautiful views.
Jin had no trouble entering the compound; the security guards knew him well as Shuri's friend and were aware that he was the third son of the chairman of Park Bank.
As he approached the gate, Jin rolled down his window and the security guard greeted him. "Good evening, Mr. Park. Are you here to see Ms. Lee? She isn't back yet."
"It's alright, I can wait for her," Jin replied with a smile before asking, "By the way, has there been anyone suspicious lurking around her apartment?"
The guard shook his head. "No, Mr. Park. We don't allow strangers into the compound. Security is very tight here."
Jin nodded, though he couldn't shake off his concern.
"Alright, thank you."
He drove in but decided he needed to see for himself. He parked his car directly under Shuri's unit and waited, keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings.
After some time, he saw Shuri's car pulling into the open parking lot.
She stepped out, holding Happy. Just as Jin was about to get out of his car to greet her, he noticed the same masked man appearing out of nowhere and following Shuri.
A sense of urgency gripped Jin.
He immediately got out of his car and sprinted towards the masked man.
"Hey!" Jin shouted, attempting to grab the masked man by the shoulder.
However, the man's reflexes were incredibly fast, and he dodged Jin's grasp effortlessly.
Jin felt a wave of hostility emanating from the man as they stood glaring at each other.
"Why are you following Shuri? What's your intention?" Jin demanded, his voice loud and firm.

"Jin?" she murmured in surprise.
As she hurried over to Jin, her eyes widened in shock as she recognized the familiar figure that Jin was with. Her heart raced and she quickened her pace.
As she approached, two security guards also arrived from a different direction. Jin saw them and quickly addressed them, "This man is following Shuri. I think he's up to no good."
The security guards looked suspiciously at the masked man and requested his identification. "Sir, we need to see your ID," one of them demanded.
Panic surged through Shuri.
"Wait, this is a misunderstanding!" she exclaimed, stepping between Noran and the guards. "He's my friend."
"Your friend?"
Jin and the security guards all looked surprised at her declaration.
Jin, however, remained insistent. "How do you know him, Shuri? I heard he's been following you around. He's even lurking under your unit."
"That's..." Shuri faltered, unable to come up with a convincing answer.
She turned to look at the masked man, who had been quiet all the while.
She gave him a look like asking him, "Why are you here?"
The security guards, sensing the gravity of the situation, grew more anxious.
If anyone found out that they had allowed an unidentified person into the private compound of this high-end apartment, they would be fired.
"Sir, you need to show your identification now, or we'll have to report you to the police for trespassing," one of the guards insisted, his voice rising in urgency.
The masked man still remained silent, seemingly unfazed by the situation around him.
His eyes were fixed on the girl standing before him, her protective stance warming his heart.
Behind his mask, he smiled, unseen by anyone.
He felt a surge of happiness knowing she still cared for him just as she had in their first life.
On the other hand, Shuri was anxious and determined to protect his identity. "I already said he's my friend. He's not anyone suspicious."
The security guards exchanged glances, maintaining their professionalism. "We understand, Ms. Lee, but we still need his ID. All visitors must be registered."
Shuri pressed her lips into a thin line, trying to think of a retort. Jin, noticing her anxiety, felt a surge of displeasure.
Why was she so protective of this masked man?
"Shuri, why wouldn't you want us to know who he is? Is he a wanted criminal or something?" he pressed.
"No, he isn't!" Shuri quickly replied, her voice rising in defense.
But Jin's question had already made the security guards more wary.
"Sir, you must show your ID," one of the guards insisted, stepping forward.
Shuri wanted to argue further, but the masked man gently placed a hand on her shoulder, calming her.
"It's alright, Rin," he said softly.
The familiarity in his voice and touch sent a jolt through Shuri.
As he slowly removed his cap and then his mask, everyone's eyes widened in shock.
The air seemed to freeze, and an intense silence fell over the group.
Before them stood an incredibly handsome man, his features sharp and refined.
His skin was smooth and pale, contrasting with his dark hair, which framed his face perfectly.
His piercing eyes held a captivating intensity, drawing everyone in with their icy blue depths.
The security guards and Jin stood in stunned silence. They had seen this face before—a world-renowned piano virtuoso from the West who was recently invited to Sol City.
The realization hit them all at once.
"Yo-You're Noran Kingston?"
