His Obsession Began After Losing Her-Chapter 68: Please Feed Me
Chapter 68 - Please Feed Me
In the New Valley Central Hospital, Roy sat on the hospital bed in his VIP ward, watching with delight as Karlene peeled oranges for him.
His left arm was bandaged and immobilized in a sling, a reminder of the gunshot wound he had sustained while protecting Karlene.
Despite the discomfort, Roy couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at the sight of Karlene attending to him.
One of the assassins had died during the gunfight, while the other two were arrested.
Ian had come forward to testify for Roy and even provided video evidence from his phone, capturing the murderer in a black mask pulling out the knife from Anne's lifeless body.
With this crucial piece of evidence, Roy was proven innocent, and it seemed that everything was finally settled.
"Here, eat this," Karlene said, handing Roy a plate of peeled oranges.
Since Roy had saved her, Karlene thought it was only appropriate for her to take care of him for a bit.
Besides, Roy had paid her a hefty lawyer fee on time.
Despite his unserious nature when talking to her, he was a generous client who never delayed payment.
"I can't use my hand, please feed me..." Roy used his usual tactic, his tone slightly whiny.
Karlene rolled her eyes. "Your other hand isn't hurt, right? Use that to eat yourself."
She placed the plate on the hospital bed table in front of him, unwilling to entertain his antics.
"Ugh!" Roy suddenly let out a low growl, his expression twisted in pain.
"Are you alright?" Karlene asked anxiously, watching as Roy clutched his injured shoulder.
"It suddenly hurts... I think I'd feel better if you fed me some oranges." Roy's voice was laced with pain, and he looked at Karlene with pleading eyes.
Karlene was speechless.
Wow, he was even using his injury to gain her sympathy?
Karlene saw him still groaning in pain and finally gave in.
With a sigh, she sat on the edge of the bed, took a piece of orange from the plate, and held it up to Roy's mouth. "Eat it."
Roy opened his mouth, accepting the piece of orange. "Hmm, the orange tastes sweeter when you feed me, Karlene."
Karlene rolled her eyes again. "You really should talk less."
She handed him another slice of orange, and this time, whether intentionally or not, he bit lightly on her finger, causing Karlene to widen her eyes and withdraw her hand quickly.
"You! Did you just bite me?"
Roy grinned, still chewing. "Sorry, it was an accident."
Karlene wasn't pleased. "If you do something like that again, I won't visit you anymore."
She turned and intended to leave when Roy reached out and grabbed her arm with his uninjured hand. "I'm sorry, please don't go. I won't do it again."
Karlene turned to look at him, feeling a mix of guilt and sympathy.
Bandaged and vulnerable, Roy appeared even more pitiful.
She sighed and sat back down on the chair next to him.
A bright smile appeared on Roy's face, but his intense gaze made her feel awkward.
Karlene sighed. "Really, why are you acting like this?"
Like her sister, Karlene was no stranger to men courting her.
They used all sorts of tactics—gifts, flowers, extravagant dinners—but none had risked their life for her.
It made her slightly touched.
"Do you really not know? That's how much I like you, Karlene. More than my life," Roy said lightly, but his words didn't sound insincere.
His eyes sparkled as he smiled at her.
Karlene was speechless.
Wasn't he injured? Where did he get such enthusiasm?
"We're not suitable for each other, Mr. Roy."
"You don't know if you don't try," Roy replied.
"I don't date divorcees, and certainly not my clients."
Roy argued, "I didn't get to finalize the divorce, so I'm technically a pitiful widower. And since we've closed the case, I'm no longer your client. So, I don't see any problem with that."
Karlene's lips twitched.
This man's wit was as sharp as hers.
How interesting.
Not wanting to admit defeat, Karlene picked up another slice of orange and pushed it into Roy's mouth. "I also don't date men who talk too much."
Roy chewed the orange, still smiling. "Then I'll just have to let my actions speak for me."
"Looks like you're having fun."
Suddenly, a familiar voice interrupted from behind.
Ethan slid open the door and entered the VIP ward. Unlike Karlene, Roy wasn't pleased to see him, a frown appearing on his face.
"Hey, I told you not to come," Roy's voice turned serious, no longer sounding light-hearted.
Ethan ignored Roy and looked at Karlene, who greeted him with a smile.
"You came just in time, Ethan. Please help me take care of this troublesome guy here. Make sure he gets enough rest and vitamin C."
She gestured to the plate of oranges. "You may need to feed them to him because he said he couldn't eat with his hands."
Upon hearing that, Roy's body tensed up as he imagined Ethan feeding him oranges.
It was a disgusting scenario, enough to make him feel queasy.
He glared at Ethan and warned in a low voice, "Don't you dare come near these oranges. Karlene peeled them specially for me."
He even used his free hand to guard the plate of oranges.
Karlene couldn't help feeling amused.
Why was he acting like this?
It was almost laughable, and she tried to suppress a laugh.
"I don't want to do this either, Roy, but I hate seeing Karlene feeding you more," Ethan retorted as he walked over and tried reaching out.
Roy slapped his hand away with a smirk on his face. "Are you jealous that I get to spend more time with Karlene?"
Ethan rubbed his hand and forced a smile. "Just because you risked your life for her, do you think she will be interested in you?"
At the corner, Karlene kept quiet and watched the two men argue.
What was wrong with them?
Not only Roy but even Ethan was acting childish.
The phone in her pocket buzzed continuously, and she decided to look at the notification—there were messages from her family group chat.
She opened the messages, and her eyes widened as she read.
"I need to go back to Sol city," she suddenly announced.
Ethan and Roy stopped arguing and looked at Karlene in surprise as she hurriedly grabbed her handbag and prepared to leave.
"You're leaving? Did something happen?" Roy asked anxiously.
Karlene's eyes flashed with fury as if someone had killed her entire family.
She replied in an angry voice, "A son of a bitch is trying to steal my sister!"
...
At Shuri's bedroom.
"W-Wait..."
Shuri found herself lying in bed with Noran on top of her. Her head was placed between his arms and her body was immobilized between his tight thighs.
"I have already waited long enough, Rin. You should know that..." Noran breathed against her lips before he swallowed her lips hotly.
Her heart pounded as she watched Noran pounce on her so hastily that she couldn't even breathe.
So, she put her arms around his neck and pulled Noran closer to her.
They kissed each other desperately, barely pulling apart for breath before diving back in.
"Haa... Ran, you're still upset, aren't you?" Shuri asked softly, looking up at his eyes that were filled with desire and a mix of jealousy.
Earlier that evening, after their family dinner, Shuri had tried to reassure Noran during their car ride home.
She explained that there was nothing going on between her and Jin, emphasizing that she only saw him as a friend.
However, it still didn't sit well with Noran.
While he had been tirelessly searching for her all these years, there had been another man lucky enough to spend many years with her, from college up to now.
It was only reasonable for him to feel this bitter, right?
The thought gnawed at him—if he hadn't found her, would she have ended up marrying Jin instead?
The possibility tormented him, and he couldn't easily dismiss it.
"Rin," Noran began, his voice tinged with the bitterness he couldn't hide.
"While I was out there, looking for you, he got to be with you all those years. How do you think I should feel about this, hm?"
Taking in his words, Shuri caressed the side of his face as if to comfort him. "We might have missed out on many years together, but you're the only one I'm going to spend the rest of my life with."
Noran's gaze softened at her words and Shuri thoughtfully reached up to kiss him on the lips. "Feeling better now?"
"I'd need more than a kiss from you to feel better, Rin."
With that said, Noran lowered his face to the nape of her neck and began stroking her body over her clothes, the sexual tension sending goosebumps all over her skin.
Shuri gripped onto the back of his shirt, as she breathed, "Haa, but we have work tomorrow..."
As if he didn't like what he had just heard, Noran swallowed her lips again.
This time was a lingering, erotic kiss that stimulated and excited each other.
His lips fell off as soon as a moan burst out without Shuri realizing it.
"You promise we'd continue after dinner, Rin," Noran said seductively as he began unbuttoning her shirt. "Are you going back against your words?"
However, before Shuri could respond, she felt his hand swiftly find its way inside her blouse, effortlessly undoing her bra.
