Chapter 47 - 47 – Preparation to Leave

"So we're leaving?"

After returning to my room and taking another shower, I told my sister and Miss Shizuka about my plan. All speakers, ropes, and fireworks we secured were in the humvee, so we could leave anytime we wanted.

"But Daiki, I still have to take care of some patients." The nurse put her hand on her cheek, looking troubled at me.

"My injuries are not fully recovered yet, and I planned on fully recovering before we leave. Maybe in a day or two." I said, "And I have told Don Takagi about it."

"Really?" My sister looked surprised to hear that, "Does he accept you leaving this mansion?"

I smiled at her, "He's a smart man. He knew I would leave even before I decided to tell him."

Miss Shizuka nodded after hearing that. "But are you sure we're going to leave?"

"More reason for that to happen. The monster that I fought with Saeko in that mall... I don't think this group will be able to hold it back if he shows up here. So I plan to move to a better location, maybe with a military group. Besides, we need to find someone, right?"

I looked at Miss Shizuka as I finished. Her eyes widened in realization and she nodded, knowing who I talked about.

"...Alright." She said.

Then, I looked at Saeko, who stayed silent until now, and asked, "Do you want to stay here instead?"

She immediately shook her head. "Of course not. I will follow my brother anywhere."

I was happy hearing her say that.

Anyway, although my decision seemed impulsive and risky, I had calculated everything carefully. Recuperating from our wounds was the best thing we could do right now. I wanted to return to the normal level I had before challenging the Tyrant in the mall.

Swords weren't that much of use against Tyrant. Crossbow? Useless.

From what I knew about Tyrant, they could flip a car easily with one hand. The one we fought before must be a prototype, seeing that there were no other experimental subjects we found in that underground lab.

'The documents we secured were also not important. They had emptied everything before running away from Japan, leaving Japan to suffer the fate of the zombies. That or join the main group.'

"I wonder if Wesker exists here..."

"What did you say, brother?" Saeko tilted her head.

"It's nothing," I said, smiling at her, "Just rest for now. I will visit the infirmary tent to check on Kohta."

"Ah, I will tag along. I need to check on patients too." Miss Shizuka chimed in.

She rose from the bed quickly, causing her massive breasts to bounce. Then, she picked the clothes she threw on the floor last night, dressing in front of me without modesty. Seeing this, Saeko also got dressed.

'It's interesting seeing how they have no more qualms being seen naked by me.'

Anyway, after getting dressed, we headed towards the infirmary. However, after arriving, I found Takashi and the others were currently visiting Kohta. They gathered outside the tent, circling around the injured fatty.

Seemingly hearing our footsteps, they turned around. Saya's face reddened upon seeing me, averting her head with a huff.

Takashi walked towards me first, and said, "Hey Daiki. How are you holding up?"

"Pretty well," I said, looking at everyone present and stopping at Kohta, "How do you feel, Kohta?"

"Not very bad, actually. Thank you for saving me the other day. You really saved me, Senior Daiki. But... I-I destroyed your rifle. I am sorry." He bowed deeply at me.

"It's fine." I said, waving my hand.

Then, I looked at Takashi, Rei, and Saya.

"Can you give me time to talk with Kohta alone?"

They looked at me hesitatingly, but Saya immediately dragged Rei away and said, "Hmpf! Do as you please, stupid! Come, you need to eat breakfast, Rei!"

Rei turned to look at me and made a slight bow, before letting the pink-haired girl drag her away.

As for Takashi, he scratched his cheek with a wry smile.

"I am sorry about them even though you saved us. Thank you for saving us, Daiki-senpai."

He gave me a proper 90 degree bow and left afterward.

I smiled looking at his figure until he disappeared from my sight, then I gestured for Kohta to follow me behind the tent. His body was full of bandages, but walking wasn't difficult for him anymore.

We stood facing each other in privacy, and I asked, "How do you feel? You saw hell yesterday. Are you holding up fine?"

He took a deep breath, recalling what he saw yesterday, before answering, "Yes, I am fine. Though I am still sad that I destroyed your gun, and I felt sorry for losing most of our ammo supply."

"Hmm..." I nodded, thinking about how I should deliver my intention. Well, I just decided to be blunt. "Well, the reason why I want to talk with you in private is this. I am planning to leave this place soon."

I watched his reaction after saying that. Although surprised, he wasn't particularly upset.

Then, I proceeded to tell him about my little plan, what I would do next, and how I would search for survivors in safer places such as evacuation points or police stations.

About a few minutes later...

"...I understand. Honestly, I want to join you, but I don't think I am ready. At least, let me learn something useful from this mansion." He said, seemingly disappointed at his inability to go with me. "Senior Daiki, let me thank you once again for saving me. If we meet again someday, perhaps in another place, please guide me again."

So he refused. I could see a spark of resolution in his eyes. Perhaps, he also reflected on his weakness and decided to change stay.

I nodded in acknowledgement, "Well, do your best then."

With that, we returned to the infirmary tent, where Kohta would lay down on the bed.

As for me, I began my preparation in my room.

"Time to shop for some bullets."

My first objective was to replenish some ammunition stock. And this was what I purchased from the system store:

100x 7.76mm ammos for 45 points.

2x Magazines for M1A1 for 40 points.

The source of this c𝓸ntent is freewebnøvel.coɱ.

2x Hand Grenades for 100 points.

That was all I needed. After that, I reloaded the empty magazines with ammos, taking a long break in between. I also inspected my equipment, checking whether there were cracks on my trusty katana or if my rifle had problems somewhere.

Luckily, there was none.

"This world is somewhat weird." I murmured after double-checking my items.

After everything was ready, I stored them in our humvee and relaxed.

All preparations were done. There was no other choice for me than waiting until I fully recovered.

'Today seems like a quiet day...'
