House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men-Chapter 207: A Maiden
Chapter 207 - A Maiden
(Third Person POV)
[King's Landing, Some Time Ago, After the meeting in Maidenpool...]
"What were you thinking?!" Baelon exclaimed, "Alyssa!!!"
Alyssa was standing across from her husband, "What are you speaking about?!" She scowled, "Baelon...!"
Baelon pointed at her, "You turned to the Trinity?!" He asked her, "Are you fucking mad?! If anyone else finds out, do you have any idea what will happen to you?! To me?!"
Alyssa clenched her fists, "W-What did you want me to do?!" She exclaimed, "T-To die?! To let Aegon die?! I was going to die, Baelon! I had no choice!!"
"Anything is better than succumbing to him!" Baelon shouted, "To Drakken!"
Alyssa frowned, hurt by his words, "How could you say that?" She said softly, "You would be willing to lose me? To lose your son?"
"T-That is not what I said." Baelon told her, "To make a deal with Dra-"
"How is it any different than what Father and Mother have done with him?!" Alyssa cut him off with tears in her eyes, "Than Aemon when Aenys was ill! He humiliated himself! He went and begged Drakken to help his son, and what happened, he did just that!! And nobody told Aemon anything because he and Aenys were in line for the throne. But it is a problem when I think about my family, my husband, and my sons! Is it really that wrong of me to not want to die?!"
Baelon walked up to her, "This is different." He told her, "How can you be so sure that you and the boy were going to die? For all we know, it was a trick by Drakken to get you to his side."
Alyssa shook her head as tears ran down her cheek, "You...." She said, "The Grand Maester himself told me that I was going to die....."
"He told me he didn't use the blade." Baelon said, "He told me that what happened was different then how Drakken described it. You didn't die...."
"I did, Baelon." Alyssa said softly, "Drakken brought me back....as a demonstration of his power. He also brought Aegon back and healed him. He said that he would have been a sickly boy for the rest of his short life and he made it so that he grew up healthy and strong!"
"Lies!" Baelon stepped away, "You cannot trust that thing, you cannot make deals with him!"
"Why?" Alyssa asked with a shaky voice, "Is it so wrong of me to do what all of you have done? Maegelle and Saera are with him solely because Father made deals with him. Everyone makes deals with him and he delivers! Baelon...why am I the one at fault here....?"
"Because..." Baelon said, "He is our enemy."
"I am tired." Alyssa sobbed, "I am so tired, Baelon. I don't want to be his enemy, not anymore.....I am so tired. I want our sons to be happy....I...this is the best way I can ensure that."
"No!" Baelon exclaimed, "Not with him! Not with the Trinity!"
Alyssa moved the top of her dress to the side, revealing the Mark of the Trinity slowly appearing on her chest as she looked at Baelon with tears in her eyes.
"If...." She sniffed, "If I denounce him, I will die. Not because he will kill me, but because he will simply allow me to meet my fate. The fate that he prevented.....He wanted me to join the Trinity for the sake of tormenting you....I admit that...but does that matter when my son is alive? When I am here...with my boys?"
Baelon shook his head, "Do not show me that..." He said, "I cannot believe you....anything that comes from him is never good."
"H-He healed Balerion....the whole reason you are with a dragon is because of him." Alyssa said as she tried to stop the tears, "For better or for worse, Drakken has influenced our House....he is drawn to us. W-What if.....what if he is a Lost God of our people?"
"What?" Baelon frowned, "What are you talking about?"
"T-Think about it...." She said as she tried to compose herself, "He is a Dragon God....perhaps he is a forgotten one....from our people of old....."
"No." Baelon said, "He is not a Valyrian God. I refuse to believe it...."
"Whatever he is..." Alyssa said softly as she looked down, "I've accepted him...."
"Alyssa....!" Baelon said, a horrified look on his face, "W-What?!"
"He is a god, Baelon." Alyssa said, "And the best thing for our family is to accept him...."
"Has he clouded your mind?" Baelon walked up to her and grabbed her by the shoulders, "Is he manipulating your mind?!"
"He is...." Alyssa said with a smile, "By simply allowing me to have my free will and allowing me to live, Baelon."
"I owe him a debt...."

[Back To The Present]
Alyssa Targaryen opened her eyes as she laid in the bed, seeing that her husband was not in there with her.
She blinked, "Baelon?" she said as she slowly sat up, "Where are-"
She saw a figure next to her and immediately swung at her.
"Ah!" Viserra cried out as she dodged, "Sister, it is I!"
Alyssa widened her eyes in shock, "V-Viserra?!"
Viserra nodded, "Forgive me for startling you. Baelon has left the Keep, he has gone to the city." She whispered, "I believe he is joining the hunt in the capital...for the worshippers of the Trinity."
Alyssa frowned, "What are you talking about?"
"Septon Barth has mobilized several Knights loyal to the Faith." Viserra said, "They are to rip the entire city apart to find the Shrine. Anyone who is affiliated with the Trinity will be questioned...."
"But that means...." Alyssa said
"You and I will likely be targeted." Viserra whispered, "But I worry not about the Shrine, it is well hidden. I believe that the Faith will rise once again..."
"Wait..." Alyssa said as she looked at Viserra with a confused look, "Viserra, what do you mean You and I?"
Viserra pulled the top of her gown down, revealing the Mark of The Trinity on her chest, slightly faded.
Alyssa widened her eyes, "V-Viserra, you...!!"
"I am a Dragon Maiden, Sister." Viserra said softly, "Accepted into the Trinity by the Priest, Ezra. I have been learning of the grace of the God of War and Death.....As have you, it seems."
Alyssa then got out of the bed as Viserra stepped back, a bewildered look on her face.
"You realize what you have done???" Alyssa asked, "Father will be furious!"
"As furious when he'll find out you made a deal with Drakken?" Viserra asked, "I know, sister. I know that he brought you back to life and saved Aegon. You owe him your life, so you are bound to the Trinity."
"That is...." Alyssa whispered, "I had no choice. You did!"
"I did." Viserra said, "But why deny the truth? The Faith of The Seven is obsolete. What are the signs of those gods? Why bother believing in that when a true god walks among us?"
"When Drakken walks these lands...."
