House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men-Chapter 220: Movements III
Chapter 220 - Movements III
(Third Person POV)
Drakken stood in the middle of the field, surrounded by corpses as several weapons were planted on the ground. His sclera were pitch black, his red eyes glowing as he looked ahead of him, staring down Vermithor who was several meters away from him.
"Come on...." Drakken said as he smirked, "Will you not do anything?"
Jaehaerys was sweating, a bit of blood running down his face, "You...."
It had been around twenty minutes since Drakken started the battle, several dozen soldiers swarmed him, but were immediately defeated by Drakken cutting them down with a sword he conjured out of thin air. He had then cast a spell, summoning several weapons that planted themselves all over the area.
King Jaehaerys tried to have Vermithor attack Drakken, but when the dragon breathed its flames, the flames did not touch Drakken. It is as if something had intervened and curved the stream of flames around and left Drakken untouched.
Jaehaerys chalked it up to Drakken's power, but it is not something that he was used to. Drakken had then used his Telekinesis to push Vermithor away, causing the King to trash around a bit, hitting himself against Vermithor's hide.
This entire display caused the army to approach carefully, not wanting to charge blindly to their deaths. But when it came to Drakken, it did not matter if there was sight or not, they were bound to die regardless.
Drakken grabbed a sword from the ground, "I am the God of War." He said, "This is but my Battlefield. Nothing happens here without me allowing it. If I had placed a rule, making it so your Dragon cannot harm me, then your dragon cannot do anything to me. You will need to get off your ass and come at me directly, Jaehaerys Targaryen."
Jaehaerys scowled, "So...." He said, "It's sorcery...."
"Of course!" Drakken said as he pointed the sword at him, "It is always about Sorcery. What, do you think the gods of your world don't use magic to get their shit done? Not like yours care enough to do anything to help you lot."
Then, several dozen soldiers charged from all directions, trying to flank him. They reached Drakken but he had already lunged, cutting through several men with a single swing, blood and body parts flying everywhere. He parried and blocked several strikes and countered with swings so fast that nobody could process them.
With every second, more body parts flew in the air as Drakken swung his sword, grabbing men by the head and ripping them apart. Soldiers drew their bows and shot arrows at him, they did not even come close to reaching him. The arrows would curve out of the way and hit the other soldiers as everyone watched in pure shock.
A single individual was taking on an entire army, cutting them down with ease.
Septon Barth was mounted on his horse, watching this from afar, "That is impossible!" He said, "No man can take on an army by himself. It is unheard of, nobody is that mighty!" [a/n: ;) ]
Drakken took on the incoming wave without hesitation, lunging past them and swinging his sword and cleaving their necks. He would then pick up another sword, which was planted on the ground, and in a flash, he simply shredded his enemies with fast swings.
They could not keep up with his movement, his footwork being so advanced that they did not know how to react to it. Drakken was a blur, constantly appearing at different locations in their peripheral vision.
One second, he was to their right, impaling two men with a single thrust, and the next second, he was to the far left, decapitating several more.
Jaehaerys scowled, "This...." He said, "This is too much....."
"We need to do something!"

[Harrenhal]
The empty halls of the castle were suddenly swarmed by Targaryen soldiers who ran from waves of serpents that chased them.
"Run!" one of them cried out, "They're too fast!"
The serpents pounced on their necks, biting hard and within moments, their necks bulged out and blood sprayed out. Within seconds, dozens of soldiers were immediately brought down by the animals which were controlled via Mya's enhanced warging abilities.
They had tried to barge through the castle to look for Maegelle and Saera, finding only several familiars, which Mya set upon them.
Mya herself was hunting them down throughout the halls, filling them with arrows and slicing their throats as she rushed them within the close quarters.
This entire ordeal was happening too fast for Mya was getting bored.
Aemon and Baelon had entered the Castle, the Heir had his wound patched up but he was still in tremendous pain.
"This...." He said as he grimaced, "It hurts so much."
"Where are they?" Baelon said as he heard the screams of their men, "Where are our sisters?"
"It could be possible they were moved...." Aemon said, "The entire castle is empty...."
"No!" Baelon said, "It cannot be! Drakken...! He must've foreseen this!!"
"Perhaps...." Aemon said, "But.....this is good....Mya, their most dangerous Greenseer is here....if we can capture her, it could be good....."
"That's right..." Baelon said, "There's still that other plan...do you think....they're there already?"
"I don't know...." Aemon said, "This whole thing came out of nowhere...."
They saw some of their soldiers run towards them.
"Princes! Get back!!" they shouted, "That thing is here!!"
"What thing?!" Baelon asked
Suddenly, a massive shadow pounced at the soldiers, ripping them apart within seconds. Both Baelon and Aemon widened their eyes in pure shock to see Brutus crushing the bodies of the soldiers right in front of them.
The wyvern was crushing their bones with its maw as it looked up at them, growling deeply as it glared at them with its bright red eyes.
"Shit....." Aemon said, "That does not look good...."
"No." Baelon said,
"Run."

[The Tower]
Saera opened the window to the balcony, "What is all that commotion?!" She exclaimed, "What is going on?!"
She saw that outside the walls of the village, there was a bit of smoke and flames rising to the air. She heard shouting and the clashing of steel, as if there was a fight going on.
She narrowed her eyes, "So much for safe...."
Daranne stood up, "Get away from the windows, Princess." She said, "As long as we stay here, we should be fine."
Saera looked at her with a scowl, "You think so?" She said, "This is not looking favorable...."
"It is war...." Daranne said, "They could be remnants of the Riverland Houses that did not bend to Our Lord's will."
The doors opened and Olyver walked in, hearing his hood, "My Lady....Princess...." He said, "Stay here. Keep the windows closed. The Tower will not be breached, but I cannot say the same about the village."
"What?" Saera said, "I thought the walls were safe. This entire place is meant to be safe!"
"The Tower has warding that were placed on by Lord Drakken himself." Olyver said, "It acts as a labyrinth. Stay in the top levels. If they somehow breach the entrance, instead of climbing up to reach you two, they will end up in the basement level where several of my Familiars will maul them."
Daranne nodded, "I trust you, Olyver." She said, "May I ask what is going on?"
"It appears a new enemy has revealed itself." Olyver said, "Warriors wielding flaming swords with potent magic.....they are giving my men a run for their money."
"Duskguards?" Saera asked
"No." Olyver said, "I have sent word for a detachment to come and aid us...."
"How many are there?" Saera asked
"Around two hundred." Olyver said, "It should be fine. Their target is not the Tower, it seems...they're trying to cut through....but it is nothing to worry about."
Daranne gasped, "Y-You don't think...."
"If their target is indeed that...." Olyver said, "I have no worries....the Guardian is there."
"Hmph." Saera said, "Make sure you protect us. Otherwise, I will have Drakken kill you."
"I don't want that." Olyver chuckled and turned around, "Stay put. But don't open the windows."
He then walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.
Daranne sat down, "This..." She said, "We should be fine. The Tower's wardings are powerful...."
"Yea...." Saera said, "If you say so."
"It does appear that they know we're here." Daranne said, "So we should be-"
She was cut off by the sound of a voice in her head.
".....Shade...."
"What?" Daranne said as she stood back up and looked around, "Who....?"
Saera frowned, "What?"
"The Dark Shade...it is vulnerable....."
Daranne frowned, "That voice....."
"Flames....protect the Shade from the flames..."
Daranne did not recognize the voice. It felt like it was a cold one, whispering in her mind as she stood there, frozen.
"What is it, Daranne?" Saera frowned, "Are you okay?"
"I...." She said as she gently patted her Mark of Immortality, "The Dark Shade....."
"It....cannot be...."
