I Am The Heroine's Father: The Cannon Fodder's Ascent-Chapter 65: Echoes
Chapter 65 - Echoes
"Alright... What the actual fuck is going on here!?" Orihime stared down from the blue sky, her eyes wide open as Johan hugged a beautiful woman who was completely naked, and crying, as if wanting to go away, but couldn't as Johan's grip was so tight.
Orihime thought of using a sword shower, her strongest attack to wipe this rapist monster, but knowing Velmire, he would never trust someone so scummy, so she didn't cut him into molecules, and decided to hear him out.
Sebastian also suddenly appeared right beside, his mouth parted wide, but it looked like not for the same reason as Orihime.
Johan looked up, his eyes twitched, but he schooled his expression, "Please don't misunderstand Miss Orihime, it's not like you think, Olivia is me."
Orihime's pupils dilated, while Sebastian understood it immediately. If Orihime learned about the God Tree, and Olivia, she could undoubtedly tell who they were, because every last important person got this information. Johan Von Matilda, Kirin Von Matilda, and Sebastian Bonwit were killed by Radhaan because of the crime of manipulating the God Tree.
She probably had the more close-to-truth and detailed version of this due to her rank, so she could guess this much.
Sebastian turned to face Orihime. He could ask about why the seal was opened later—Olivia seemed fine for now. "James has a power that allows his different personalities to come alive. It's a secret, so please keep it a secret," he said simply, taking over the excuse Johan provided, with so much confidence that no one would doubt it.
"...So, he... wants to be a woman deep inside..." Orihime's disgust-filled expression didn't get any softer, her eyes looking at James and Olivia like they were animals.
Johan's face went pale. Sebastian also didn't say anything. If he denied it, it would confirm that his previous statement was a lie. If he agreed... Sebastian really doubted he would get his daily treatment.
Olivia's mood lightened a bit, her eyes grew amused, not minding acting like Johan.
"...Anyways." Orihime flew down right beside the couple, passing a yellowish tinted paper. Johan took it with a forced smile, enduring her eyes filled with judgment.
Sebastian also followed, pulling out a small bright pink stone with the authority of space, and just as he put some of his Aether into it, a black portal, about the size of his forearm, appeared out of thin air.
He instantly placed a few bottles of water, some pieces of baked bread, and seven big boxes of high-grain cookies, looking like they were homemade with love, but smelling very good.
This was the closest he could get to military food locally, and this was enough. Most of the things were hard to eat in a high-risk zone where you could get butchered to death at any moment, but you could always chew on some bread and cookies while walking, while everyone else properly guarded the person eating, and they could all get energy turn by turn while still moving.
Johan checked it all with a serious expression, giving a satisfied nod.
Then with a soft smile, Johan used a perfect clone to give Olivia similar clothes to Orihime—a Victorian-style black dress, covering every part of her body. He reverted his eyes with a blush at the slightly visible nipples, as Johan can't really look at Orihime's lingerie, so it was just the dress, but it was more than enough.
Johan took a deep breath, sitting down in a lotus position on the soft, slightly wet grass, his face growing calmer by the second. All three—Sebastian, Orihime, and Olivia—surrounded Johan in a triangle position, watching tens of kilometers for any possible threat.
Orihime had so many questions, staring at Olivia with a strange look, 'why was he hugging her like a couple? Is he also an asexual since he has such beautiful clones of his own personalities? Can 'she' even get pregnant, and they could procreate on their own?' but she chose to suppress them all, looking at Johan's serious face with curious eyes, and a thousand thoughts that could make Johan cry if he could hear them.
'Echoes 77,' Johan muttered to himself. Suddenly, he lost all connection to his senses. With a calm thought, he continued, 'Two hours from now.'
While searching for the dungeon, he could also see if all three of those monsters had left, or if it was only Leor. If Radhaan or Lucifer were still here, they would seriously have to make new plans.
One of the other features of Echoes 77 was, the user could watch a big area very fast in bird-view, like tens of kilometers in a single glance, so it was very time-efficient, whereas searching while flying could consume all of the time they could spend here.
There was a giant plain grassland first in his vision, animals roaming around happily. The deadly animals and monsters had been cleared out by the Divine Knights, as this area is part of the Aurelian Empire.
Then with a single thought, tall mountains filled with long trees appeared, their slopes snowy and hidden in clouds. With Johan's estimate, they were at least 10,000 meters tall, with extreme environments and dangerous monsters.
He instantly traveled the 'camera' to a valley-like place, surrounded by tens of those giant 10,000-meter mountains.
From playing the game, he knew the basic location of the dungeon—it was somewhere surrounded by giant mountains. Now, after traveling there and taking a look at Orihime's detailed map, he could easily make out the way to the valley.
Now the only thing left was to locate the dungeon's exact location, because this valley was still thousands of meters big.
Johan immediately got to work, zooming in on different areas. He saw different things—a group of 1000-foot-tall polar bear–like animals eating a T-rex–like, extremely powerful monster who was brutally killing tens of polar bears in a single sweep of his paw. It was all a bloody mess, but ultimately, numbers won, and the polar bears leisurely ate the T-rex bone by bone, using their comrades as chairs to sit around.
For some reason, Johan found this horrific scene extremely funny. Maybe because of the bird view—giant polar bears sitting on the dead polar bears like humans on chairs, and then eating like they were at a Michelin-star restaurant, not letting the blood dirty their fur—it does look funny.
Johan strolled a bit more, catching more monsters, rivers, waterfalls, and a few places he recognized and marked them as important since these places were where hidden quest items were hidden. He could definitely use them, but it would be for later—he would now just mark them on the map.
He basically covered the entire thousand-kilometer area, and still couldn't find the dungeon. Suddenly, the bulb rang, and he fast-forwarded the time a bit.
And it worked. Johan caught a man flying at extreme speed towards a direction Johan was sure he had already checked. He closed in the camera, and it was—Radhaan.
Johan followed him, and he landed toward a small cave right under the biggest of the mountains—probably taller than twelve thousand meters. It was an overstatement to call it a cave; this was a gap between rocks, less than four feet wide, and the rest also seemed to be similar in width. There was no light, or any other air gaps inside, besides the small opening at the start.
Radhaan didn't waste any more time, and elementalized himself into lightning, and he passed through more than two kilometers of that small four-foot-wide cave. If Radhaan were a normal man, he would've definitely died from just pure anxiety—hell, even Johan felt like puking from how fast Radhaan was traveling through that disgustingly tight cave filled with rats, red ants that would basically eat your flesh and bones at even a moment of stopping, and snakes—most venomous of them at that.
It finally ended, revealing light. The 'camera' looked around. Most eye-catching was a ten-foot-tall gate, with a demon's face as its design, with large demon horns and long teeth, wearing an intimidating, ugly expression.
Leor's bright golden eyes glowed in the complete darkness, watching Radhaan with amusement.
Suddenly black goo split out from his body, a devilishly handsome man appearing by his side, his dark red eyes almost piercing and dreadful to look at for too long.
"You're awfully late for someone who can move at the speed of light," Lucifer scoffed.
A.N.= Alright why the hell are my stats in minus? You all need to see that last Chapter was peak fiction, and it was what really would've happened if this all was real. I can't tell you omg, the ending I have in mind, the story, the world, it's so fucking beautiful, I think it might even become really popular, but yk what even if it didn't it won't matter, cause I am learning a lot, and some people genuinely love it, this means a lot to me, and also the fact that I can't lie to myself, and I should stay true to what I want in my story. You won't make me write slope system bs no matter how hard you try, and my mc will not be an evil asshole, nor an goody shoes, humans are morally grey, and Johan was a good person at nature, but due to his experiences, and nurture, basically he suffered a lot, and once again when he tried to become good, he had to be evil, he's pretty messed up now, like at start I told how he protected Selene, but it was also toxic love if u missed, James is the only hope for this scumbag.
I am sorry for the rant, this was aimed at this one reader. But I hope it cleared some of the misconception you might have had, because I love you all, and I am not the best and have a lot to learn, and I don't want you to miss out on such peak ;)
