I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means-Chapter 880 - 537 Felik’s Wish_2
Chapter 880 -537 Felik’s Wish_2
The fireplace was holding a small pot, simmering something, and the fire’s light reflected off the walls, casting a warm hue.
The cottage was plainly furnished, yet Lis felt a sense of warmth and coziness, as if it was a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, where time slowed down, leaving only the breaths of nature and inner tranquility.
“Welcome, Lis.”
“Or should I address you as the World Tree Favored?”
An aged voice echoed from within the room, gentle and imbued with a sense of timeless elegance.
Only then did Lis notice, seated in a reclining chair by the window, was an elder, smiling at him.
“It is an honor to meet you, under the crown of Felik.”
Lis respectfully bowed together with Taya.
This man had stood at the Legendary Peak for hundreds of years; if he hadn’t spoken, Lis would not have noticed his presence.
He was far stronger than the Legendary Mage [Storm Fury] whom Lis had encountered earlier.
The elder in the wooden reclining chair had hair that had turned gray, resembling the first snow of winter that covers the earth, every silver strand telling a story of bygone years.
His face was lined with layers of wrinkles, marks etched by time’s chisel, recording his countless trials and hardships.
His body was thin and frail, covered with a warm, thick blanket, as if a gust of wind could knock him over, like an ordinary old man.
Yet, most striking were his eyes, exceptionally bright without a hint of decay, as dazzling as the stars in the night sky.
They reflected a clarity after enduring life’s trials, seeming to peer into the essence of all things.
The elder’s gaze held boundless wisdom, a depth accumulated over time, compelling others to listen to his words and seek his guidance.
Lis did not dare to slacken in the slightest.
From his words, Lis could understand that this Legendary Crown had specially invited him due to his World Tree Favored status.
But this was not something to get carried away with.
“No need for formalities, please sit.”
Felik smiled and raised his hand gently.
Suddenly, a few small trees sprouted from the ground behind Lis and Taya, swiftly growing and intertwining to form two wooden-backed chairs.
Lis raised his eyebrow but sat down unceremoniously.
No signs of Magic Power fluctuation, simply relying on mastery over the Legendary Domain, or rather, the world’s rules?
Powerful!
However, Lis felt not so much awe but a stronger sense of aspiration arise within him.
Sooner or later, I will reach this level!
Felik smiled at Lis and Taya, like a kindly grandfather from next door.
“I noticed a special person has arrived here, with a bit of difference.”
“It took some time to realize that another World Tree Favored had appeared.”
Felik said with a smile, looking at Lis.
“Just luck.”
Lis shook his head slightly, speaking modestly.
“If you consider becoming the World Tree Favored merely luck, then there’s no need to say much more.”
Felik said with a smile, a hint of teasing in his eyes.
“Forgive me.”
Lis did not expect the elder to be so straightforward, responding with a wry smile.
Given Felik’s considerable age, he might pass away at any moment.
But until he closed his eyes, he was undeniably a Legendary Strongman, one of the top figures in Gaia World.
“You need not worry.”
Felik looked at Lis, smiling and said:
“I am a member of the [Oak Council]. The news of you being the World Tree Favored was confirmed through the council.”
“I understand.”
Lis earnestly nodded, and much of his doubt dissipated.
It wasn’t Lis’s first encounter with the [Oak Council].
At least in the Dillon Kingdom, he had met the council member Isidore.
Charles, under his command, was also an affiliate member of the [Oak Council], now one of the heads of Danerluo Port’s navy.
The [Oak Council] is, in a sense, somewhat unconventional as a Divine Church, worshipping [Father of Oak – Silvianas].
However, this powerful Divine being doesn’t require worship; he established the [Oak Council] more to protect Gaia World’s natural balance.
In some ways, [Father of Oak – Silvianas] is connected to Lis.
Because, like the Earth Goddess, he was once the World Tree Favored.
Moreover, he was the first World Tree Favored.
And from the deeds of this Divine entity over tens of thousands of years, it’s evident he is a respectable and great existence.
The [Oak Council]’s conduct aligns with this Divine’s ethos, dedicated selflessly to safeguarding Gaia World’s natural balance.
Unlike the extreme Druid Organization, they maintain a neutral stance rather than imposing their will on others.
Felik claiming to be a member of the [Oak Council] did not surprise Lis.
Firstly, there was no need, as Felik’s power and status rendered lying to him unnecessary.
Secondly, Felik’s creation and protection of this desert oasis for hundreds of years matched the [Oak Council]’s mode of action, an indisputable fact.
“I invited you here indeed for some matters.”
Felik got straight to the point without much idle talk.
“I want to know, Lis, can you communicate with the World Tree Yggdrasil as the World Tree Favored?”
“What do you intend to do?”
Lis was a bit shocked, pondered for a moment, then inquired.
It wasn’t his tendency for surprise; Felik’s question was genuinely unexpected.
Many were curious about how he became the World Tree Favored or what abilities he possessed.
But this crown directly asked if he could call the World Tree Yggdrasil.
Utterly extraordinary!
Felik nodded, smiling and said:
“There’s no other reason, just seeking the World Tree Lord’s assistance.”
“Lis, you should know the cause of the Western Desert’s formation, right?”
“Apparently due to the damage from a divine war thousands of years ago?”
Lis probed.
“Indeed, but the cause of that divine war is unbeknownst to anyone now.”
Felik sighed and continued:
“I was born and raised in this desert; I’ve visited other parts of Fanor Continent, witnessed the fertile Eastern Plains, and experienced the vast forest sea of Elf Forest.”
“I refuse to accept the Western Desert remaining as it is.”
“Enduring drought and hunger, boundless dust storms, barren desert and gobi, many struggle to survive.”
“That was my past, but I do not wish this place to continue this way!”
“After reaching the Legendary level, my research solely focused on transforming this desert, hoping one day to turn it into a livable land.”
“I succeeded, yet also failed…”
Felik’s voice was calm and soothing, yet it imparted to Lis a heavy sense of mission and unwavering conviction.
Those Druids striving to change the Western Desert’s environment must hold such a selfless belief, right?
Lis couldn’t achieve it, but he deeply respected those who embody such spirit and conviction.
“The Felik Oasis is my masterpiece.”
Felik looked at Lis, his gaze filled with confidence and a touch of regret.
“Even if I perish, as long as the current state is maintained, the Felik Oasis can persist indefinitely.”
Ssss—
That’s quite remarkable, isn’t it?
Lis was a bit astonished; maintaining an oasis through Legendary strength was one thing, but an independently sustainable oasis was entirely another.
The latter represented the complete reversal of the local environment!
“However, my strength can only create one Felik Oasis at most.”
Felik looked at Lis, his voice deep and solemn:
“I want to beseech the World Tree Yggdrasil Lord, even if it means offering everything.”
“I hope the Western Desert can return to its original state!”
