Chapter 28: Run Quickly

The man probably didn’t want to lose Bluestone’s corpse so he preferred to call for help even though it would eventually lead to him having to share the corpse with others.

The ones he called were naturally his friends in the Awakener Extracurricular, Thomas and the others.

There were seven of them in total.

They looked surprised when they saw a figure completely covered in armor with a large sword on its back with no Bluestone figure in sight.

"He must have killed him with my poison and hidden Bluestone’s corpse," Milo said.

He hadn’t seen Luis’ fight with Bluestone, so of course he could only speculate like that.

On the other hand, Thomas first observed Luis with his Magic Glasses which then confused him.

[Level: 4]

[Estimated Power: 1662]

That was the data he got from his Estimated Power.

The level of the figure in armor was 4, using numbers instead of letters.

This was basically the difference between Awakener and Monster.

If the level uses numbers, it means monster.

After being confused, he was then shocked, surprised at the amount of Estimated Power of the Level 4 Monster.

It was a number too far above other Level 4 Monsters.

He himself was at Level D as an Awakener plus had a Spirit that was very strong, but his Estimated Power was still below this monster.

Please note that a difference in Estimated Power of 100 or even 50 is a significant difference.

The outcome of the battle tended to be predictable with such a difference.

"Hurry up and go!" Thomas immediately shouted.

Whoosh!

Luis slashed his great sword coated in death energy at them.

He didn’t really want to hurt them. The only one he had enmity with was Milo, but he needed to intimidate them into leaving.

Whoosh!

The death energy became a huge wave that crashed down on them quickly.

It instantly gave a sense of death to all of them.

"Get out!" Thomas shouted then opened his mouth which suddenly spewed out a huge fireball which then formed the head of a lion with a thick beard.

It faced the death energy, but the fire that should have burned was instead burned by the death energy.

It shrank quickly, becoming black smoke.

Fortunately, it was able to give Milo and the others a chance to return to the real world.

Thomas also made it back.

Luis naturally did not pursue them.

When they returned to the real world, they still appeared on the bank of the river, panting as the pressure from the death energy left them reeling.

"Thomas, what is that guy’s Estimated Power?" one of them asked.

"He’s not human, he’s a monster, probably a zombie or undead," Thomas replied. "And he has an Estimated Power of 1662 and is only at Level 4."

"What?"

"Only Level 4 but has that much Estimated Power, unbelievable!"

"Monsters couldn’t have stolen my poison by relying on birds, so who stole my poison?" Milo wondered.

"Who knows."

"Hmph, that’s because you don’t want to share the good things with us. If only you had cooperated with us from the start, you wouldn’t have had this kind of misfortune."

"..."

As for Luis, he was already flying high in the form of a bird.

He didn’t return to the city but watched the land below, looking for monsters to hunt.

This was still around the city, searching for monsters with higher levels was still not easy.

However, when he came across a crowd of monsters forming a grub, he discovered that they were led by a Level 5 monster.

The monster group consisted of large monkeys that could easily jump tens of meters.

Their leader was actually a gorilla, standing about 45 meters tall that was more akin to a standing building.

Only, it was pitch black in color, not golden like its gorilla form.

Furthermore, as a Primordial Golden Gorilla, he was taller than it despite having a level below it.

However, the black gorilla was rather interesting as it was actually carrying a large mace on its back.

It looked similar to an ancient creature.

Luis wanted to kill the monkeys and get their Monster Core, he couldn’t turn into a Primordial Golden Gorilla because they might actually salute him for seeing their ancestor.

He thought and finally decided to fight as the Death Knight King instead.

He transformed into the undead again before plunging from the sky.

Apparently, the monkeys realized his existence sooner. They looked up simultaneously including the black gorilla who instantly grabbed his mace.

ROAR!

It roared upwards, warning Luis not to come.

Of course, Luis came anyway. He even summoned the death knell or Symphony of the End.

It really was a bell, black in color and releasing dark smoke around it.

It was large enough to attract attention from afar and looked like it was hanging directly in the sky as it floated in the air.

BANG!

Luis who landed slashed his greatsword at the three monkeys comprising.

They were only at Level 1, so they were cut off instantly.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The bell suddenly tolled three times and the sound was extremely loud and deep.

[Estimated Power: 1702]

(+40)

Luis couldn’t help but be astonished at the sudden increase in his Estimated Power.

He had only killed three monsters but there was an increase of up to 40.

What if he killed ten monsters?

His attack scared many of those monkey monsters as the majority of them were also at Level 1.

As the black gorilla lunged at him, he lunged in another direction.

Shua!

He slashed his greatsword once again. This time, he struck five strikes at once and the strikes actually became more powerful.

Even the boulder was cut in half and the monkeys were cut in four because of one slash from him.

[Estimated Power: 1802]

(+140)

’Maybe my power can increase to almost double,’ he thought after looking at the latest data.

Some of the monkeys had apparently started to choose to run around. They would rather leave their group than die.

Luis saw a Level 3 monkey that was almost 15 meters tall. It also tried to run so he lunged towards it and slashed his sword over its head.

Shua!

Instantly, the monkey was split in two from top to bottom.

Milo would probably need time if he wanted to kill the monkey, but it was very easy for him.

ROAR!

The black gorilla became furious.

It even released a terrifying black aura. It wasn’t death energy, but it also gave the sensation of death.

Since it wanted to die, Luis would naturally help it to die.
