Chapter 564 - 564 The Will of the World and the Unbeatable Man, World Intervention, The Final End of a Villain, and The Last Invincible.
(One hour later)
In a city, Flash was mocking an Invincible wearing large round glasses, who tried his best to catch him but couldn't land a single hit.
"Damn speedster, all you know how to do is run!"
Flash slowed down slightly and chuckled. "That's right. That's what a speedster does, genius..."
Flash vanished. He sped up and ran around the world before the bespectacled Invincible could react. One of Flash's signature attacks involves accelerating—since it's well-known that objects gain mass with speed.
"Infinite Mass Punch!"
Invincible barely saw Flash's fist before he was struck and sent flying out of the city. Flash stopped and laughed, then shook his head.
"Hope he's not dead. I mean, if they call themselves Invincibles, there must be a reason for it. Haha."
...
Martian Manhunter had four arms as he pummeled one of the Invincibles. These powerful attacks knocked the Invincible unconscious in front of him.
There's a statement from Superman himself claiming that the only Justice League member he'd never want to face is Martian Manhunter.
"What a shame... You have the power to make the world better, and you choose to destroy it instead..."
"Shut up!"
Another Invincible attacked from behind, but Martian phased through the blow.
"You're cheating! You're like Martian Man and Green Ghost combined! That's not fair!"
Martian Manhunter was silent for a moment.
"I've always been what you see. I'm not a mix of anything..."
What bothered this Invincible the most was that Martian didn't seem affected by anything. No insult or comment could anger him. Invincible attacked once more, but Martian grabbed him with two arms and used the other two to press on his back, dislocating his arms.
"Ahhhh!"
"Relax and trust me, having me find you is a better fate than being found by any Walker..."
...
Kara kicked an Invincible, slamming him into the empty beach. He didn't even move afterward.
"I thought they were stronger..."
"It depends... this one was."
Raven floated nearby with a cocoon of darkness hovering beside her. Both girls felt like they were cleansing the world of a kind of plague, which was both amusing and absurd at the same time.
Kara shrugged and smiled. "I'm sure I'll be well compensated for this favor, hehehr~"
Raven gave her a cold glare. "Pervert..."
"I'm not gonna ask for anything extreme!"
"Sure..."
Kara blushed. She'd be lying if she said the thought hadn't crossed her mind, but she wasn't about to admit it now; not when she knew they were definitely being watched. (Allen, or rather, the system, often streams the perspective whenever Allen brings in outside-world support.)
At that moment, another Invincible descended from the sky.
"They really are like a plague..." Raven said as her hands were engulfed by her magic.
"The worst part is, they all have the same face," Kara said with disdain before launching herself at this Invincible too.
...
"Ahh!.... gh!"
Diana sliced an Invincible in half, leaving two others in shock.
"What's wrong? You think a trio of brats can beat an Amazon with three hundred years of training?"
Diana was strong and powerful. Just a little, barely, below Superman. As a superhero, she avoids killing. But as a warrior, she's proven that sometimes it's necessary. More importantly, she wasn't fighting as Wonder Woman now; she was fighting as Diana Walker, and the order was clear: Search and destroy.
"She's insane!"
"She's like War Woman, but several times stronger!"
Diana smirked and raised her sword to strike again as the Invincibles fought desperately for their lives.
...
(GDA)
The operators were terrified as their screens filled with "superheroes" they had never seen before—on top of the women the Regulator always brings with him. But what was alarming was not that, but the ease with which they were able to defeat the Invincibles.
Several of them glanced nervously at their boss, Cecil Stedman.
"..."
Cecil stared without blinking. Setting aside Walker's women—who I already knew were monsters; the resemblance between several of these "heroes" and some old acquaintances is... disturbing...
"Never mind..."
Cecil felt a trace of relief seeing that the situation was slowly coming under control. Watching a hundred Viltrumites destroy the world was something unheard of. Cecil knew that defeating even one usually required more than one person. Even if he used all the world's heroes and every ReAniman available, they might only manage to kill ten—with heavy casualties. After that, only destruction would follow.
Cecil could feel the eyes of his subordinates on him—filled with fear. He smiled. He understood them. Watching a group of strangers take on multiple Viltrumites at once had to be terrifying. But Cecil wasn't afraid. He knew where these superheroes came from—and since Walker brought them, he'd be the one taking them back.
To some, Cecil's attitude toward Allen might seem unnatural—for someone like a mix of Nick Fury and Amanda Waller. But that's only because they don't understand that Cecil accepted a simple truth long ago, one that made his life easier: aside from money, and some girls, he didn't care about the other things in this world.
Cecil lit a cigarette. As the smoke slowly rose, he spoke. "What are you doing here, Darkwing..."
"I'm not Darkwing... I'm Batman."
Batman emerged from the shadows before anyone even noticed he was there. Ever since his time in Midnight City, he had no idea how many times he'd had to say that same sentence. Donald and the operators drew their weapons, but Cecil raised a hand and signaled them to stand down.
"What do you want... Batman?" Cecil didn't turn toward him; he just kept smoking.
Batman pulled out a USB stick. "An exchange of information..."
Cecil dropped his cigarette and stared at the Bat with no expression on his face—but filled with caution. "I'd prefer if you were Darkwing..."
"..."
...
After making contact with an entity with an inflexible will, the most obvious outcome would've been Allen's expulsion. However...
"I refuse."
[Well, that was the most logical response.]
Allen also explained the situation in his Chat, where he was seeking some kind of truce or ceasefire.
Tony – It makes sense that you'd want to end this... but can you really trust Miss "Let me throw the protagonist at you a hundred times to see if it kills you"?
McDragon – What makes you so sure it's a woman?
Tony – I don't know, but considering who we're dealing with, wouldn't it make sense?
Yoruichi – That makes so much damn sense. I can't even argue with it, hahaha.
Unohana – Yoruichi-san, watch your mou—
Yoruichi – Please, Onee-san, I'm four hundred years old.
Unohana – ...
Yoruichi – Ah... sorry.
Annie – Cough Putting the joke aside, it's true we can't trust her words... Besides, there's no way those conditions can be accepted.
"That's right... I can't agree to leave this world..."
Emma Frost – Don't worry. That's why it's called negotiating. Just send a counteroffer. It'll likely be rejected, but it'll help us gauge the other side's disposition.
"As expected of my Megalodon-of-the-businesses girlfriend."
Emma Frost – Hehe~ Is that a compliment ❤️~? I hope so because I'm blushing now~
"It was."
Gwen – Can you flirt later? We're discussing the fate of the world...
Rangiku – Ara~ the princess is jealous, how cute~
Gwen – Remember I can ban you...
Rangiku – How scary~
Akeno – Ufufu, personally I recommend an in-person meeting. Knowing you, I wouldn't be surprised if you could seduce her and tame the will of the world~
Rias – That would top any womanizer tale I've ever seen or heard -_-
"What are you all saying?"
Allen felt a bit dumb for asking his Chat their opinion about the situation. Even so, he decided to renegotiate with the will of the world. The other side was stubborn, but it knew Allen wouldn't back down easily.
...
(Ten minutes later)
In the end, they reached an agreement:
[The will accepted the truce on the condition that you stop invading the Invincible universes. Of course, this is contingent on Allen Walker or any of his allies not being attacked by the will, another Angstrom Levy, or anyone else with the ability to cross worlds.]
– Universes outside of Invincible are not subject to this agreement.
[From now on, Universe 1 and Universe 2 will be Allen Walker's property. The will loses all ability to alter these universes (Without Allen's authorization), but since it is bonded to the world, it cannot disappear...]
– Allen promises to give The Will of The World time to fix the disturbances caused by Allen's existence.
[At this point, Allen will leave the world long enough for it to stabilize.]
– No events will be altered from how they are.
– No one will lose their memory because of this.
– Allen has the right to intervene if he believes The Will of The World is altering anything in his universes that he doesn't approve of.
A/N: It's a bit hard to grasp, but think of it like this: The Will of The World must exist—that's undeniable. But since Universes 1 and 2 now belong to Allen, the will can only create a unique fate for both, with everything that implies, without forcing the story to revert to its original path. Basically, in every other universe, the will is the director, but in Allen's universes, it's just the screenwriter, and it answers to Allen.
...
With the deal made, Allen closed his eyes and deactivated "The Absolute." Allen had kept it active over the entire world. Because of it, the will couldn't assist the Invincibles by giving them more power. It was an unpleasant power, but the will of the world was unpleasant too.
The Will of the World seemed to sense Allen's goodwill and, now that they had a truce, didn't interfere and withdrew its support from Angstrom Levy...
"..."
Allen felt like he could walk in this world without something constantly breathing down his neck.
"Looks like it's all over..."
[Wouldn't say that. Angstrom Levy's still alive.]
"That's true..."
...
Angstrom Levy was still fighting Invincible, unaware of the whispering truth, the strange danger that surrounded him, as if something was no longer on his side.
"Damn you!"
Angstrom's head was bleeding as if he'd taken multiple blows. Invincible's suit, for his part, was torn and scorched in several areas.
"It's always the same with you! Why won't you just stop screwing me over?!"
Invincible punched Angstrom, but the latter just laughed. freewēbnoveℓ.com
"Why?! Do I really need to explain at this point?!"
Angstrom screamed, his eyes bloodshot.
"You ruined my fate! But more importantly, you ruined the hope of so many others like me!"
Invincible scowled but didn't stop attacking. Angstrom used his drones to keep Invincible at a distance.
"In my mind are the regrets of hundreds of Angstrom Levys. Some only wanted revenge... but others wanted to save their worlds!"
"Don't be a hypocrite!"
Invincible pushed aside two drones and reached Angstrom, grabbing him by the collar.
"You bastard! You say all this, but you're still alive, still have the power to cross universes—and instead, you're here wasting your time!"
"I don't want to hear that from you!"
Angstrom headbutted Invincible and pushed him into a building with a swarm of drones.
"Invincible, I hate you... you have no idea how much I hate you..."
Invincible emerged from the rubble and looked at Angstrom in silence.
"When you did this to me, it wasn't just memories that got mixed—feelings did too. Sadness... hate... too much hate...
My mind keeps seeing you kill my family, destroy my world... over and over again..."
"But that's not me..."
Invincible actually felt a bit of pity for Angstrom Levy—but that faded quickly as he remembered what he'd done. This man had brought countless Invincibles with the intent of destroying the world.
"I know... I know you're not all of them. But I still hate you. My mind is broken, I'm broken, but the one thing that's clear in all of this... is how much I hate you."
Invincible felt a chill. He knew Angstrom wasn't going to stop—not until he was dead. Invincible thoughts about the world and all the deaths this monster had caused. He exhaled slowly and, with an empty expression, launched himself at Angstrom Levy.
Angstrom tried to open a portal, but Invincible redirected his arm—then, with his free hand, drove it through his chest...
"Urgh!"
Angstrom stared in disbelief at what just happened. For a second, he thought that even if Invincible was a hypocrite, he'd stay that way until the end—but that wasn't the case.
"You!... Mark!..."
Angstrom tried to break free but felt his body going limp. Invincible held him in an embrace, even with his arm still impaled through him.
"I'm sorry..."
"No... don't apologize... you hypocrite...you are not the good guy...you never were....."
Angstrom Levy died in the arms of his worst enemy. Invincible didn't celebrate, didn't feel joy, but he didn't cry either. He just felt drained and numb.
From high above, Allen silently watched the final outcome. Using his golden eyes, he once again stripped Angstrom Levy of his powers.
"You did well, Invincible..."
This time, Allen called Mark by his superhero name—not mockingly, not with disdain. This time, the kid had earned it.
...
In a dark alley, an Invincible was running for his life, his entire head covered by a mask similar to Spider-Man's, but completely black.
"No!"
He was so terrified that he lost balance, slammed into a building, crashed through it, and landed face down in an alley. Before he could get up, a massive axe struck him in the back, pinning him down.
"This is the last one, right, Wednesday?"
"Yeah... the last active one. Though it seems the heroes left quite a few alive..."
"Tsk, useless fools... I should burn them all."
"Kihihi~ That's just how heroes are..."
The voices of several women made this Invincible feel true terror. He was paralyzed, like a gazelle caught by a pride of lionesses.
"Master?!"
"Allen!"
"Daddy!"
Their voices shifted from cold to affectionate far too quickly. The axe was removed from the Invincible's back, but he didn't dare move—because the lion had arrived.
"Should we kill him?" asked a loud-voiced girl.
The masked Invincible looked up to see a bunch of people floating above him, each with an overwhelming presence—especially the man who arrived last, watching him with amusement.
"No, I remember this one. He's the Invincible who just wanted to see his mom..."
Allen smiled.
"You're lucky. One second later, and you'd be nothing but a red smear on that wall..."
The black-masked Invincible didn't dare move, while Allen used his senses to scan the world—there were no more fights.
"It's the end of the Invincible War... and perhaps of this world..."
With that declaration, the curtain fell.

A/N: It is said that in a war there are no winners, but I think Allen's team kicked Angstrom Levy's team's ass.
