I Turned Filthy Rich Just By Sleeping With Women?!-Chapter 41: The Man’s True Identity
Chapter 41: The Man’s True Identity
Zhao Yiming jolted as he turned off the faucet and opened the door. "She’s here? I thought she was just going to send someone."
Luo Yanyu shrugged. "I didn’t expect it either... But she’s acting weird. Serious—but happy serious. It’s creepy."
Madam Ruan stood in her usual elegant qipao, smiling brightly at the body of Jin Haolong like she was admiring a fine painting.
She wasn’t alone—three men in black suits flanked her, while Su Meilin stood nearby, whispering something to her.
The moment Zhao Yiming and Luo Yanyu entered, the conversation stopped.
Madam Ruan turned to face him, her smile sharpening. "Oh, Zhao Yiming. I didn’t expect you to pull off something this dramatic."
She turned her back and fanned herself lazily. "But it does look like an accident. I mean, you are a gambler and a drunk... but also a wimp. Or, at least, you used to be."
He sighed. "Yeah... it was an accident. Can you take care of it? Yanyu told me the price’s high. I don’t mind."
"Oh no, sweetheart. Money alone won’t cut it."
She closed her fan and walked toward him, her heels echoing sharply on the marble floor.
She stopped in front of him, pointing the fan at his chest. "I need you to find something for me."
"Huh?"
She squinted slightly. "Ah, so you don’t know who this man really was." She motioned to Jin Haolong’s corpse.
"You’ve had a run-in with some Golden Earth men lately, haven’t you? He’s one of them. Not a bottom-feeder, not a boss—but just important enough."
"Important how?"
"He was holding something I want—something very valuable. A ledger," she said, eyes glinting.
"Names, dirty money, and records of every deal and every official who bent the knee. I want you to find it."
Zhao Yiming blinked. "A ledger... wait. Was he the one behind the land deal? Selling at dirt-cheap prices?"
"Bingo," Madam Ruan smiled. "Also: money laundering. You ever noticed how luxurious this building is, but almost nobody lives here? That’s where the money flows."
His head spun. The man he’d killed... wasn’t just a thug. He was a link in something far bigger.
"So I just stumbled into a shitstorm," he muttered.
Madam Ruan tilted her head, amused. "Now you’re catching up."
Zhao Yiming fell silent, then gave a small nod. "Fine. I’ll find your damn ledger. But if Golden Earth catches wind of me sniffing around... you protect me. And her too."
He reached out and gently held Su Meilin’s hand. She blinked in surprise but didn’t pull away.
Madam Ruan chuckled. "Smart man. Of course, I’ll protect you." She paused, waving a tissue-wrapped phone in front of him.
"But you need to move fast. His phone’s been buzzing nonstop. Seems like something’s happening over at that shopping district you’re trying so hard to protect."
She flipped the screen toward him.
Messages read:
(Boss, we got them. That old man and the others agreed to sell!)
(Come quick!)
Zhao Yiming’s eyes widened. He reached for the phone, but Madam Ruan smoothly pulled it back and handed it to one of her men, who sealed it in a plastic evidence bag.
"I’ll extract all the files. You’re not getting the phone—yet. I’ll put it back on his body."
"...You’re going to put it back?"
Su Meilin’s voice came from behind. "What do you plan to do with the body?"
Madam Ruan turned with an elegant smile. "Didn’t you say he loved playing golf? There’s a valley nearby. We’ll put his body in his car, drive it out, and toss it off the cliff. Let gravity do the rest. Classic accident."
"I see..." Su Meilin murmured, gaze dropping to the floor. Her expression shifted—uncertain, distant.
’Is she regretting it? Mourning him? Or just scared of how far we’ve gone?’ Zhao Yiming thought. But he didn’t have time to dwell on it.
He had two missions now.
One: find that damn ledger.
Two: figure out what the hell happened on Lianwu Street.
"I’m going to find that ledger," he said with quiet resolve.
Madam Ruan smiled again. "Now that’s the kind of man I like doing business with."
She glanced at Su Meilin and tilted her head playfully. "Huh... I didn’t know you had this many women. I thought it was just me and Yanyu who caught your eye. But another one?"
Zhao Yiming stiffened. He saw the subtle flicker of irritation cross Su Meilin’s face.
"Ohh? So she didn’t know?" Madam Ruan laughed airily. "Tsk. That’s men for you, girl. They’ll call you their treasure, say you’re everything—and still stare at someone else the next day."
Then she added with a sly smirk, "Still... don’t throw away a man who’s willing to bleed for you. Those are rare."
She gave a cheeky wink and turned to leave. Her men slipped a jacket over Jin Haolong’s corpse, placed him in the wheelchair they brought, and disguised him with a hat and mask before quietly escorting him out.
The room fell silent.
Luo Yanyu sighed and shrugged, clearly disappointed but trying not to show it. Su Meilin stood with her arms crossed, lips pressed in a thin line.
"...Is what that woman said true?" Su Meilin asked, voice low but firm.
Zhao Yiming nodded slowly. "Yeah..."
"So Luo isn’t just your friend?"
He shook his head. "I’m sorry, Meilin."
She let out a deep breath. "At least you’re honest..." Then her eyes narrowed. "But don’t you dare act romantic with her—or anyone else—in front of me. When I’m with you, you’re mine. Got it?"
He blinked, stunned by the sharp line she drew—then even more stunned when she turned, grabbed a broom and a cloth, and shoved them into his hands.
"Now help me clean up."
Zhao Yiming’s eyes widened. Wait... does this mean she’s okay with me having other relationships—as long as I don’t flaunt it?
He turned to Luo Yanyu, who only gave him a tired shrug before helping Su Meilin pick up the broken furniture.
He smiled faintly and got to work in silence, scrubbing blood from the floor. Occasionally, he could hear laughter and soft giggles coming from the master bedroom as the two women chatted.
"They’re getting along... I’m glad," he murmured.
Then his gaze darkened slightly.
’But that ledger... I need to find it. And after that, I have to see what’s going on at Lianwu Street.’
