I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…-Chapter 311: Battle in the Labyrinth Pt.3
After almost three minutes — the limit of Lisa's Sacred Sanctuary — the class had fully regained their strength.
The best part was that the sphinx, though given time to recover as well, seemed exhausted.
Much of its golden armor had broken away, exposing its natural skin beneath. Even though it had the chance to heal, it wasted most of the sanctuary's duration trying to breach the protective cage instead of resting.
The sharp sound of glass shattering filled the air.
The barrier finally broke.
The sphinx lunged forward immediately, its large paws swiping with deadly speed. Chris threw up shield after shield, holding the front line as the mages and Owen resumed their relentless assault.
Ren, fully recovered, raced toward the creature's spiked tail — now resembling a massive, chained mace.
With ten precise strikes, he managed to sever it from the beast's body.
It was the hardest thing he had ever done — but it was worth it.
The sphinx let out a roar of agony, staggering from the loss.
Owen smirked from a distance, knowing the battle was finally tipping in their favor.
He drew and prepared his strongest arrows, this time aiming directly for the sphinx's eyes.
Earlier, the beast had protected its vulnerable spots well, but now — flailing in pain — it was leaving openings they could exploit.
The mages, sensing the shift, began channeling their most powerful spells.
Cyclones of wind and raging firestorms tore across the battlefield, battering the sphinx's exposed flesh. Ice lances and earthen spikes followed, piercing it from above and below, leaving deep scars.
A heavy quagmire formed at its feet, trapping it in place just long enough.
Ren and Yui, working perfectly in sync, moved in for the final strike.
Despite Ren's stoic nature, Yui, overjoyed and brimming with energy, called out the name of their ultimate combo attack without hesitation.
"Kagegiri no Ken!"
The girl, clad in a black kimono, gathered the energy passed to her by the boy dressed in white and red armor — her twin brother.
Their elements, darkness and light, collided and repelled each other in a rare phenomenon few had ever witnessed.
The resulting clash formed two massive energy strikes — one from the left and one from the right — slamming inward like a colossal clamp around the sphinx caught in the center.
There was no escape.
The Sphinx was struck violently, and for the first time, true damage was dealt.
A front paw was severed cleanly from its body, and blood gushed out in torrents, splattering across the battlefield.
Without wasting a second, Yui hurled a shuriken far into the distance, anchoring her escape spell. She grabbed Ren's hand and instantly warped them both away from the collapsing monster's reach.
Chris, however, remained behind.
He was battered and exhausted but refused to retreat. He had to stay for the final assault, holding the line as the mages unleashed everything they had left to finish the job.
Owen was ready too.
Tears welled up in his eyes — not from pain, but from the weight of his decision.
He nocked his strongest arrow yet, its tip forged from rare adamantium — a treasure he had saved for only the most dangerous foes. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
This was it.
He couldn't hesitate.
The sphinx was already casting a healing spell, golden mana swirling around its ruined body. If they didn't end it now, it would have the strength and time to restore even its severed limb.
Owen steadied his breath and pulled the bowstring back as far as it would go, feeling the wind and fire magic surging in front of him.
This shot would decide everything.
As soon as Owen released the arrow, it tore through the air and struck the sphinx directly in the head.
The moment it landed, the human-faced sphinx shuddered violently.
It could no longer think clearly — the combined forces of fire and wind magic erupting inside it, destroying it from within.
Everyone exhaled at once, tension leaving their bodies.
They stood still, watching carefully as the beast stumbled around, crashing into the walls, trying to fight against the inevitable.
After a few agonizing seconds, the sphinx finally collapsed and dissolved into shimmering particles of mana, the remnants drifting into each of the heroes' bodies like a blessing.
On the ground, three items remained.
One was a massive golden fang — likely perfect for forging a powerful magical blade.
Another was a strip of golden-infused leather, reminiscent of the armor the sphinx had created with its magic. It would probably work the same way, providing exceptional defense despite its being thin and the size which was enough for a towel.
The last item was a crystalized flask, containing several drops of the sphinx's blood — a rare alchemic material.
Chris, being closest, picked up the items, giving them a quick inspection before handing them over to Lisa.
"Nothing I can use from this," he said, shrugging. "The leather's too small to make full armor — maybe just enough for a robe. Meh."
He knew Logan would eventually pay them for the materials, as expected.
Whether it came in gold or rare resources didn't matter much anymore.
Each hero standing here had earned enough rewards from their battles to live comfortably for a lifetime.
Logan, however, had something greater — enough wealth and materials to sustain an entire nation for hundreds of years.
From a distance, Logan watched it all unfold, a small smile playing on his lips.
Then, he turned his thoughts back toward his own goal, the next piece of his grand plan already taking shape.
He was genuinely glad to see the class strong enough to defeat such a powerful opponent without his direct intervention.
In Logan's eyes, the sphinx was on par with a demon general — and yet this was only the 70th floor.
The realization made his curiosity stir.
Just how deep does the labyrinth go? And what kind of monsters lurk even further below?
The thought excited him more than he cared to admit. If he had the time, once he finished gathering the remaining beasts he needed, Logan fully intended to challenge the labyrinth himself.
Of course, he would continue feeding it mana crystals, steadily strengthening the dungeon to ensure it could offer him the greatest possible challenge when the time came.
