I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…-Chapter 322: Spirit Realm
As Logan got busy with his own quest, Lisa had arrived at the Temple of Light. She was followed by both Kryst and Silvia as the group entered and flew over the city on Orus and his two kin.
Both the girls and the monster girl looked around, amazed by the small city's architecture.
It was like a miniature version of ancient Greece—small-scale farms spread across the outskirts, white-stone buildings nestled within, and people in white robes moving with purpose.
[Doesn't it seem a little familiar?] Lisa asked, her thoughts reaching the others clearly through Logan's shared link.
[Must be what the Light Spirit wants or maybe a city Rowland the hero created based off earth's ancient architecture?] Silvia replied. [As for the people being carefree, the influence of the light spirit seems stronger than the other spirits in this world.]
The city felt detached from the war. Children played freely, men worked the fields, women moved about handling chores—it was like a sanctuary untouched by chaos.
[Still not like Master's kingdom,] Kryst huffed, arms crossed. She didn't like admitting another city might rival Rosethorn.
Lisa's gaze locked onto the largest building in sight, a grand hall at the center of the settlement. That had to be where the head of this sanctuary resided. Her trial would likely begin there.
As they drew closer, four soldiers atop winged pegasi approached in a paired formation. Their golden armor gleamed in the light as the riders angled downward, drawing attention from those below.
The people watched quietly, curious but unafraid.
Based on the knights' formation and actions, it was clearly a welcome party rather than a defensive patrol. They approached in pairs, slowly and with precision. As they neared, the two front riders removed their helmets—an unspoken gesture they nodded to each other.
One of the guards, a man who appeared to be in his forties, called out with a firm but respectful voice.
"We have been awaiting your arrival, Saintess. Our lord has already informed us of your mission and your purpose here. Please follow us to hasten your welcome."
His golden blond hair was streaked with white sideburns well hidden, and his skin tone was dark, making the light hair appear almost dyed—something only someone from Earth might have thought.
"We will follow. Please, lead the way," Lisa replied clearly, wanting to get straight to the point.
As the formation turned to guide them, Silvia's voice echoed in her mind.
[I will be doing my own mission here before leaving, Lisa. I need to gather energy from each temple or blessed place by the spirits. Luckily, I've already drawn what I needed from the Earth and Fire Temples. With this visit, I hope to complete the Light Temple.]
[Alright, I hope it won't be as hard as Logan's mission. I wonder why everyone must have it difficult to change classes,] Lisa responded, her gaze fixed on the shining temple in the distance.
[It probably will be,] Silvia sighed, her voice soft in Lisa's mind. [After gathering energy from each temple, I still have to fuse them. And we haven't even found the temples of Wind or Darkness yet. The Water Temple's gone—lost to the demons when they took that territory.]
Her thoughts were cut off as the group reached the temple gates. A bishop-like figure stood awaiting them. His eyes first locked on Lisa—clearly expected—then shifted to Silvia, sensing her mastery over all elemental magics, including Light. She, too, was welcomed.
Even Kryst, the slime girl, was not rejected from entering. The priest could feel the pulse of pure light mana within her and made no protest, even if she was clearly a creature of the Taming Hero.
Lumin, the high priest of the Church of Light, watched them descend with a controlled expression. Beneath his composed smile, frustration simmered.
The boy of flames—his pawn—had failed. Worse yet, the other two heroes he had supported had died. He had gifted them the Church's finest pegasi, but their contracts had been broken. The holy beasts had returned alone.
Lumin clenched his teeth inwardly. His scheme to eliminate the Taming Hero had crumbled. He had hoped to mold those three boys into enemies that would have taken care of the taming hero, but it had been a fantasy. They clearly lacked the Light Spirit's blessing and the strength it provided which caused their downfall.
Now, his only option was to redirect the Church's ambitions. Lisa—this so-called Saintess—was the key. He had to bring her fully into accepting the light spirits power and cement the Temple of Light as the center of the world, both in a religious and political manner.
But none of that showed on his face.
To Lisa, he simply looked like a kindly grandfather welcoming family.
"We have been foretold of your visit," Lumin said warmly, "and have prepared rooms. There is no need to worry about how long you'll remain with us, Saintess. We will support you on your path to ascension."
He turned then to Silvia, eyes gleaming behind his holy composure.
"You are welcome here as well, Sage. We have gathered tomes and materials that may assist your study."
Behind him, robed diviners stood in silence—those who could see glimpses of the near future. It was their foresight that kept this sanctuary safe. When demon scouts approached, it was they who raised the alarm. The city's knights trusted those visions with their lives.
Silvia felt something was off about the so-called prophetic abilities the cardinal had shown though—but she said nothing. She kept quiet, observing.
Lisa, meanwhile, wore her most practiced smile. She had long since grown used to the Church's reverent yet unsettling manner, though it still made her uncomfortable.
From the start, she hated being treated like some holy relic.
As they entered the temple, the guards began to disperse to resume their posts. The Cardinal wanted to be sure that the Taming Hero wasn't part of this visit. The warning had clearly been issued beforehand to keep the boy away from the temple.
Inside, the temple was everything they expected and more. Gold-trimmed columns, pure white marble, and stained-glass murals painted the story of the Light Spirit's influence across ancient wars. Every inch of the place radiated divine energy.
Lisa was separated from the others as they went further in. Silvia and Kryst were guided to a different chamber, a private room prearranged for their stay.
"This is where the altar to the Light Spirit rests," Cardinal Lumin said, leading Lisa into a radiant chamber centered by a golden altar shaped like the sun. "Please, pray for guidance. Once you begin, we will all leave. May the Light Spirit help you complete your trial with ease."
His platinum eyes lingered on her, studying her one last time before the door shut.
Lisa waited a second, then cast Sacred Sanctuary, a golden cage of holy light forming around her. It wasn't just for protection—it was to ward off any spying magic. She felt eyes watching her even now.
Once safe, she approached the altar and kneeled, placing her hands together.
The sun-shaped altar began to glow.
Warm light gathered and surrounded her body. In a flash, Lisa vanished—teleported by divine energy. Her heart pounded from the rush, but she stayed composed, hands clasped in prayer even as her body was pulled into a space between places.
Within seconds, the ride ended.
She opened her eyes.
At first, everything was a blinding brightness—as if the entire sky had become the sun. But the light didn't burn. It felt soothing, like standing before a fan on a summer day. Slowly, the brightness dimmed, allowing her to see.
She stood in a surreal landscape, the air humming with raw, divine energy. Colors shimmered unnaturally—saturated, yet calming. A bubble of light surrounded her, stabilizing her perception and expanding her vision across the endless horizon filled with crystals.
Then, someone appeared. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
A fairy like creature—small, radiant, and covered in glowing, ethereal light—floated beside Lisa, wings softly fluttering like petals of a white lily.
Lisa blinked and took a breath. "Who are you?" she asked, watching as the creature hovered in place, waiting patiently for her to adjust.
[Fernus, Spirit of Light… I come to lead you.]
The voice echoed in Lisa's mind. The small fairy, glowing softly, spoke in a strange tongue that automatically shifted into words she could understand.
"Alright… I'll follow you then," Lisa replied, still glancing around warily.
The crystalline forest stretched endlessly, its towering crystal formations standing like trees. Some shimmered with fruits embedded near their tops, softly glowing like stars.
"Where are we?" Lisa asked, unable to hide the unease in her voice.
[Spirit Realm.] Fernus answered calmly. [Worry not, hero. Our lord has commanded us to guide and protect you. This place will slowly strengthen you… so do not fear, Blessed One.]
The twenty-centimeter-long light spirit floated ahead, occasionally stopping to inspect one of the crystal trees before plucking a shimmering fruit.
[Take this. Drain its mana—it is ready.]
Lisa received the strange object with both hands, the pulsing warmth of the crystal-fruit spreading through her arms. Unlike Logan's created crystals, this one seemed to fill not only her mana, but also her hunger and thirst in one seamless wave of energy.
She blinked in surprise.
[You'll need to consume a few more before your trial begins,] Fernus added, already gathering more from the nearby grove. [The path ahead is sacred… and demanding.]
