Logan finally returned with the group. Before anything else, he handed Stormwing and Wyver a few crystals each, letting the two creatures absorb the energy until their bodies brimmed with vitality. As for Murk, Logan had him transported to the estate's waste disposal area—what better way to handle accumulated garbage than with a creature born to digest filth?

"What a strange creature you've gotten," Yui said, frowning as several of Logan's knights guided the sludge monster away. "It stinks though."

"Yeah, well... it wasn't really my idea," Logan muttered, watching the ooze trail behind the armored men. "The labyrinth gave it to me. I figured it might be useful here—at least for cleanup."

Freya had already wandered off, leaving Logan alone with the twins.

Ren stepped forward, clearing his throat. "Actually, Logan… about that." His tone shifted, more serious. "I think it'd be good if you did for me what you did for my sister. I've been observing her, and… I believe your Tamer's Bond gave her a significant boost."

Logan raised an eyebrow. "You mean the bond skill?"

"Yes," Ren nodded. "She's gained a lot. Her stats are up nearly twenty percent across the board. Her abilities have grown stronger, too. And I think... it's going to influence the job class I end up evolving into."

He hesitated before adding, "Victor and Owen—they're already ahead of me. If I want to stay competitive, I need more than just training. The bond with you might make all the difference."

Logan blinked. He hadn't really considered it before—but now that Ren mentioned it, it made sense. His bond with Lisa, with Serana, with the unicorn Elarion… all of them had evolved beyond just combat.

"You're not wrong," Logan said at last, crossing his arms. "I didn't think much of it when I started bonding with others. I always assumed the benefits were more emotional—stability, loyalty, communication—but if it's affecting class evolution, then…"

He trailed off in thought.

It made him wonder.

Was Tamer's Bond merely the foundation? Or did its effects ripple outward, changing more than he realized?

"Alright," he said finally. "I'll do it. Just know that once it's done… it's permanent. You'll carry the tamers mark—and that means more than just a power-up. You ready for that?"

Ren gave a confident grin. "Absolutely."

"Well, there isn't much data to confirm this," Ren began, "but I checked the creatures you tamed before reaching level 40… and compared them to those you bonded with after. Then there's Lisa—she's become the strongest among us, and she was meant to be just a healer. Honestly, she might even be second only to you now and that is against you who can copy all of your creatures skills."

He folded his arms, eyes narrowing with thought. "It makes me think we should've worked with you from the very start. Your skills don't just benefit you—they boost everyone around you. We were too focused on our own paths to see that."

Ren's expression grew more serious.

"If we had worked with Ruben earlier, I'm sure he would've crafted weapons that could rival ultimate gear from any game. But we're only just now getting access to those."

He shook his head in frustration. "And Omar, the alchemist… if he hadn't left, things would've been different. I spoke with him—he reached level 80 long before anyone. But he needed help to complete his quest—someone with strong offensive capabilities to kill certain creatures for material. The empire's knights weren't enough. If he had joined us, he could've crafted experience potions that boosted our leveling speed—and completed his own job quest faster in return."

Ren paused for a moment before continuing. novelbuddy.cσ๓

"Then there's Freya. Her role was never to fight directly. She should have focused on uniting the kingdoms under one banner. I think that's what she was meant to do—bring humanity together to stand against the demons."

He turned to look toward the mansion in the distance.

"And Charlotte… she found her Lord far too late. Now she's stuck playing catch-up, struggling to awaken her true powers."

Logan was silent for a few seconds, absorbing every word.

Finally, he nodded slowly. "You're right… we all messed up in the beginning. If we'd worked together from the start—shared our strengths instead of scattering—we'd already be past level 80. We might've even defeated the demons by now."

He sighed, eyes clouded with quiet regret.

"So much time… wasted."

"Well, that's all I'll say about our mistakes," Ren said, his voice steady now. "What matters is what we do from here. We may not be able to change the past… but we can still work together to stop the rest of us from dying."

Logan gave a quiet nod, already thinking ahead. If he was going to sync with Ren's abilities, he might need to get a samurai sword or something similar to match the skill set.

"Alright, sure. Let's do this."

He pricked his finger without hesitation, letting the blood gather at the tip.

"Where do you want the mark?" Logan asked, holding the drop steady.

Ren made a face. "Ugh… how about under my foot? I don't want it somewhere visible."

He lifted his leg and peeled off his comfortable slip-on shoe, planting his heel on the nearest bench.

"Sure, man. Your choice." Logan shrugged and let the blood fall onto the exposed skin.

The mark burned faintly, glowing red for a moment before vanishing beneath the skin. The bond settled in seconds. Logan could already feel the connection take shape. Like with his sister, Ren now radiated a subtle presence in his mind—a pulse of loyalty. There was doubt in it still, but the bond had been created.

"Well, that's that," Logan said. "Now… tell me what I need to wield your skills. I found out way too late that I needed shuriken and pointed weapons to use your sister's abilities."

As if to demonstrate, Logan conjured an Arrow of Darkness and tossed it behind them before vanishing with Shadow Step, reappearing ten meters away in a flicker of black mist.

"I do not plan wasting time to figure out how your skills work."
