I Was Hoping She Would Notice but again Now When She Did... Im Tired-Chapter 284: Naatural Disaster
The hospital room was cold too cold. The sterile air felt heavy, laced with tension that chilled deeper than the temperature. Three women sat in silence, the weight of their glares thick enough to suffocate.
Celestia sat upright in a chair, legs crossed, posture poised yet rigid with fury. Her sharp eyes locked onto Olivia, her voice like ice.
"Marry Lucian to me, and I won't kill her."
Olivia blinked, lips parting to respond but Rose beat her to it.
"No, he won't!" Rose shouted from the hospital bed, her voice raw and protective.
Celestia's head snapped toward her."Did I ask you, bitch?" she snarled. "Interrupt me again, and believe me you'll regret it. So shut your damn mouth."
Her words sliced through the air like a knife. Olivia narrowed her eyes but held her composure.
"Do you think Lucian would want you," she said slowly, voice steady, "if he saw how you just treated his sister?"
Celestia laughed bitterly. "Sister? What sister?" She pointed directly at Rose. "This whore kissed my darling " her voice cracked, trembling with rage, "right in front of me. IN FRONT OF MY FUCKING EYES. And forcefully!"
Her hands twitched with restrained fury. "She's lucky the World Will is holding me back. If not, I would've slit her throat myself."
Rose's fists clenched under the sheets, every muscle in her body tightening. Rage bubbled beneath her skin. Never in her life had she felt such fury not like this.
"Girl, watch your language," Olivia snapped, eyes burning. "That kind of filth has no place here."
Celestia sneered. "Watch my language? How about you ask your daughter why she kissed her own brother? Maybe then I won't kill her… painfully." Her eyes snapped back to Rose, unflinching, filled with loathing.
Rose glared back, heart pounding with indignation.
Olivia slowly turned her head toward her daughter. "Rose," she said carefully, "tell me the truth. Why did you kiss Lucian? Do you… have feelings for him?"
Rose flinched as though struck. Her chest rose and fell rapidly. "Wh-What are you saying, Mother?" she stammered, trying to push herself upright. "That wasn't intentional! I don't I don't have romantic feelings for Lucian! I swear, I didn't want to kiss him or or taste his lips!"
She stumbled over her words, her face rapidly flushing red. Even her ears burned with shame. "It was the anesthesia! I wasn't in my right mind you know how people act when they're drugged. I didn't even know what I was doing! It just… happened!"
She looked down, her fingers gripping the bed sheets tightly as she tried to breathe.
Olivia exhaled deeply, closing her eyes for a moment. "Your face is red, Rose..." she murmured. "I… didn't know. Sigh. When did this happen?"
Her voice wasn't filled with disgust or disappointment. She was a mother first and right now, she had to understand, not judge.
Celestia, on the other hand, had no such restraint. She looked between Rose and Olivia, then back at Rose's burning red face. Her own expression twisted into one of disgust and outrage.
"You lecherous woman," Celestia spat."What the hell is wrong with you?"
She shot up from her chair as if to attack, eyes blazing but she froze, trembling. She remembered what would happen if she crossed the line. Time would stop her. Still, her chest heaved, breath ragged, fury radiating off her like waves of heat.
"Princess, please," Olivia said calmly, raising a hand. "Sit down. We won't solve anything like this."
But the room was already ablaze with unspoken chaos.
Olivia turned to Rose, who was nervously trying to break eye contact. Her daughter's body stiffened, the shame and anxiety still fresh. Olivia sighed, then shifted her gaze to Celestia.
"Girl, will you do me a favor and let me speak with Rose alone?" she asked calmly. "It's important."
Celestia narrowed her eyes, not moving an inch.
"Alone? And talk about what? I don't trust either of you anymore. For all I know, you'll both plot something behind my back."
She folded her arms with a scoff. "But fine. Out of respect for you being the mother of my darling, I'll say this once more marry Lucian to me. If you don't, I—"
Knock, knock.
A sharp double knock on the hospital room door interrupted her threat.
Celestia immediately turned. "Is Lucian back?" she murmured, her voice softening slightly.
She stood, walking toward the door, a glint of excitement dangerous and obsessive flashing through her eyes. "I have a very long conversation to have with that darling of mine."
On the bed, Rose also sat up straighter, her heart skipping a beat at the mention of Lucian.
Olivia quickly spoke, her voice firm but concerned. "Don't talk to him about anything unnecessary. Lucian's already overwhelmed. He's worried sick about his sister and who knows what else is weighing on him right now. Let him breathe, Celestia. He's been through enough."
She frowned, guilt settling into her features as she remembered how coldly she had treated him earlier that day.
"Hmph," Celestia scoffed, not turning back. She placed her hand on the doorknob. "So dramatic. Finally, you're here" She opened the door.
But it wasn't Lucian.
"Ah... um, you are?" she blinked, her expression faltering.
Two nurses stood outside, both sweating and clearly in a rush. One had striking red hair, the other was pale and tense.
Celestia frowned. "What happened? You look... rattled."
"We apologize for the intrusion," the red-haired nurse said quickly. but "But this is an emergency. Please allow us to check inside."
Without waiting for full permission, the two nurses stepped into the VIP room, gently pushing Celestia back. She took an instinctive step away, confused by their urgency.
"What's going on?" Olivia asked sharply, watching them check the monitor beside Rose's bed.
The red-haired nurse scanned the readings, then turned to Rose and Olivia.
"Ma'am," she said seriously, "the patient is stable. She's fully out of danger now her vitals are excellent. She just needs rest, proper care, and monitoring. However…"
Her tone grew heavier. freeweɓnovel.cøm
"We can't allow her to remain here any longer. We need this room cleared."
Olivia's brows knitted tightly. "What are you talking about? Is this how your hospital treats recovering patients?" Her voice rose slightly. "She just had surgery yesterday, and now you're throwing us out? What is this nonsense?"
Her concern was clear, but so was her suspicion something wasn't right. In the back of her mind a dark thought crept in: Could someone powerful be pulling strings behind the scenes?
"Umm… no, ma'am, it's just that"
The red-haired nurse took a deep breath, clearly trying to compose herself before continuing. Her voice trembled slightly, caught between exhaustion and urgency.
"Ma'am, please don't misunderstand. It really is an emergency. There have been several... incidents"
"What kind of emergency?" Celestia asked sharply, her eyes narrowing, the tension in her voice instantly silencing the corridor.
The nurse flinched slightly at her tone but nodded and spoke quickly, trying to explain everything in one breath.
"There's been a massive chain of natural accidents in Wolly City just this afternoon collapses, landslides, fires we're not even sure if it's connected. It's chaos out there. There are dozens, maybe hundreds of casualties. All the hospitals in Wolly City are doing everything they can, but... they're overwhelmed. Every bed, every corridor, packed. There's just not enough space. Not enough hands."
She paused to catch her breath.
"All staff are on full alert, and we've been instructed to discharge patients who are stable enough to go home or to share space so we can make room for the critical ones coming in."
Celestia's brows furrowed. "That serious…? What exactly happened? What kind of natural disaster?"
The nurse shook her head helplessly. "I'm sorry, ma'am. I don't have the full details. We just don't have time. The ambulances are lined up outside we need every space we can get."
Without waiting for permission, the red-haired nurse rushed toward Rose's bed. Rose, still pale and slightly dazed, looked up in surprise.
"I'm so sorry, miss," the nurse said, gently touching Rose's shoulder. "But if you're well enough to be moved, may we?"
"If it's for the emergency, then… it's alright," Rose said softly, beginning to sit up.
Before she could finish, two other nurses moved in swiftly. They adjusted the bed's settings, locked the side rails, and began wheeling her out with practiced urgency.
"Be careful with her," Celestia said sternly, walking alongside.
Olivia moved beside her, frowning. "She's still recovering. Don't jostle her."
The nurses nodded, focused but respectful.
The group exited the room and stepped into the corridor
and immediately, it hit them.
Chaos.
The hallway was packed. Nurses shouting orders. Doctors rushing past with bloodied gloves. Gurneys wheeled past them so fast they blurred. People crying, groaning, calling out for loved ones.
The air was thick with urgency, panic, and desperation.
It wasn't just a busy hospital anymore.
It was a battlefield.
Celestia's expression tightened as she scanned the overwhelmed staff and terrified patients flooding in from Wolly City. Olivia instinctively stepped closer to Rose, her protective instincts flaring.
They had no idea what had happened out there But something big had struck.
And this... was only the beginning.
