I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon-Chapter 1402: New Developments in Spatial Abilities
Chapter 1402 - New Developments in Spatial Abilities
Kyoichi and Kyoji, the two brothers, had arranged to meet the leader of Team Radiance at a training facility.
A training facility is a place that provides training grounds and various training services for Trainers in the city.
After some investigation in the area, Yuga and Gengar found out that the business of this particular training facility was doing very poorly and was on the verge of closing down.
Yuga and Gengar wandered around the vicinity for quite a while but didn't see a single person enter. The main entrance of the facility also remained tightly shut the entire time.
Another thing Yuga noticed was that right next door to this training facility was a branch of the White Light Intelligence Bureau—Yuga had even been there once before.
Because of the sensitive nature of the business it conducted, the White Light Intelligence Bureau had placed its branch in a very remote location, far from the bustling areas of Mauville City.
But to have a training facility located in such a remote place felt odd—was the owner in such a hurry to go bankrupt? How could there be any business in a place with no foot traffic?
After thinking it over for a long time, Yuga finally decided to sneak into the training facility to take a look.
Infiltration wasn't something unfamiliar to either Yuga or Gengar, so the two of them easily made their way inside the training facility.
Not only was the business doing badly, but inside the facility, Yuga didn't even see a single proper staff member. The whole place was eerily quiet, which explained why the front door had stayed closed.
Had the owner taken the money and run?
However, the facility's equipment was all well-maintained—every area was clean and tidy. It didn't look like a place that had been abandoned.
A place used for running a training business would surely be quite large, and even after exploring for a long while, Yuga and Gengar hadn't seen all of it.
They had infiltrated from the rooftop and made their way down from the top, descending through more than thirty floors, without seeing a single person or noticing anything obviously wrong.
However, when they reached the basement level B1, they were suddenly attacked by a group of Crobat and Golbat.
Crobat and Golbat don't rely entirely on their eyes to "see"; they can also use ultrasonic waves to "locate by sound." So even though Yuga and Gengar were invisible, the faint noises they made still caught the Pokémon's attention.
As soon as the Crobat and Golbat were disturbed, a shrill alarm began blaring from somewhere in B1.
Yuga immediately thought, "This is bad," but by then he and Gengar had already been surrounded by the Crobat and Golbat swarming in from all directions.
It was hard to imagine that inside a seemingly failing training facility—with no staff in sight—there would be such a large number of Crobat and Golbat being raised.
Too careless! Yuga couldn't help thinking. This might alert the enemy prematurely.
"Gengar, Mismagius, Dusknoir!"
As Yuga shouted, three Ghost-type Pokémon appeared at his side and simultaneously used Trick Room, Magic Room, and Wonder Room.
The three spatial techniques overlapped and enveloped all the Crobat and Golbat. In an instant, their sharp screeches vanished, and Yuga's surroundings fell into silence.
The Crobat and Golbat crashed around wildly within the space created by the three Ghost-types, but no matter how they flew, they couldn't escape. Not even their voices could be heard.
But simply suppressing the noise caused by the Crobat and Golbat wasn't enough—the alarm outside was still blaring incessantly.
Just then, footsteps could be heard from outside. Clearly, the alarm had attracted the attention of the facility's owner. novelbuddy.cσ๓
Earlier, despite exploring for ages, Yuga hadn't seen a single person. He had no idea where they had all been hiding.
Though he now suspected that this training facility was connected to Team Radiance, he had no concrete evidence. If the owner caught him now, could he be charged with a crime?
As Yuga pondered how to get out of the situation, the Crobat began to vanish one after another from his line of sight. In the blink of an eye, the entire B1 level returned to its empty, deserted state.
Just then, Gengar gave Yuga a tug, and Yuga suddenly felt as if he had passed through some kind of barrier. The screeching of the Crobat and Golbat returned to his ears.
When he looked up again, Yuga found himself in a vast, white, foggy space. Besides the Crobat and Golbat flying around chaotically, there was nothing else in sight.
Gengar had pulled him into the space created by the three Ghost-type Pokémon. But the space Yuga saw now was clearly different from any he had seen before!
Not long after Yuga disappeared, someone stepped into the basement level B1.
B1 was a vast, self-contained area with no extra furnishings, so the moment someone entered, they could take in the entire space at a glance.
There were three people who came in, all dressed in security guard-like uniforms. Upon entering, the bald man leading them looked around at the empty basement floor and exclaimed in shock, "Where are the Crobat and Golbat?"
The other two were also stunned and had no idea what had happened.
They had come in response to the alarm, but what was going on now?
The leader's expression turned serious as he said, "Aaron, go check the surveillance footage. Along, go report this to the boss!"
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
After responding, the two quickly ran out.
Once his subordinates had left, the bald man began carefully examining the area.
His brows furrowed as he thought: The alarm couldn't have gone off for no reason, and the Crobat and Golbat couldn't have disappeared for no reason either. Someone must have been here!
But who could infiltrate this place so silently and take away so many Crobat and Golbat without making a sound? Not even an Elite Four or Champion from the League could likely pull that off!
At this thought, the bald man's frown deepened even more.
Meanwhile, Yuga had no idea what was going on outside. He was curiously observing the space he was currently in.
He had entered spaces created by Gengar, Mismagius, and Dusknoir before, but what he saw now was completely different.
The previous spaces, although capable of isolating things inside from the outside—no sound could be heard from within, and the objects inside couldn't be touched from outside—they still looked like a glass room overall and didn't block visual contact from the outside.
But now it was different. The space had completely cut off everything from the outside world, including visibility.
The three Ghost-type Pokemon hadn't used spatial skills in a long time, and this was the first time they had done so since Dusknoir upgrade after obtaining the Sableye's Gem.
Clearly, without Yuga knowing, the spatial skill had undergone an incredible transformation, very likely related to the change in the users' strength.
In fact, not only was Yuga unaware, even the users of the skill—Dusknoir, Gengar, and Mismagius—hadn't expected such a change.
Looking at the space, Yuga couldn't help but think of Regigigas' folding space—it was just too similar!
If that really was the case, then Gengar and the others' skill was truly powerful!
At that moment, Gengar appeared beside Yuga to inform him that the people outside had left.
Yuga couldn't see or hear anything from outside, but Gengar, Mismagius, and Dusknoir—the ones who had cast the skill—had a perfectly clear grasp of the external situation.
Gengar's appearance made Yuga realize something else.
Originally, after using the spatial skill, the three Ghost-type Pokémon had to stay still to maintain the space's stability; they couldn't move around freely, let alone fight.
But now it was different. This space seemed very stable—so stable that Gengar and the others could move freely, and even battle.
With the efforts of the three Ghost-type Pokemon, all of the Crobat and Golbat had been defeated. They were so noisy, constantly chattering, it had been unbearable.
Although Yuga really wanted to investigate the secrets of the new space, he knew now wasn't the time. Looking at the Crobat and Golbat scattered all over the floor, he didn't know how to deal with them.
These Crobat and Golbat had owners and couldn't be collected into Poké Balls.
Just as Yuga was feeling troubled, the bald man arrived at the surveillance room and began checking the basement footage with the one called Aaron.
However, in the surveillance footage, the two only saw the Crobat and Golbat frantically attacking something, but there was nothing there. Right after, the alarm started blaring.
Then the footage got even scarier—the Crobat and Golbat seemed to be suddenly drawn together by something, they're trying to flying wildly, but no matter what they did, they couldn't fly out of a small area.
What came next was even more terrifying: the Crobat and Golbat began disappearing little by little, as if they were being erased from existence.
"B-Boss, d-do you think this could be... h-haunted?" Aaron stammered, cold sweat pouring down his back.
It was just too eerie.
The bald man was also scared stiff, but still forced himself to stay calm and snapped at Aaron.
"Nonsense! What haunted!"
Aaron immediately shrank back, not daring to speak again. But whether it was just in his mind or not, he couldn't shake the feeling of a cold chill behind him.
Just then, the surveillance monitor in front of them suddenly made a loud "pop," and the screen went completely black.
"Ah!!!"
Aaron was so frightened that he jumped out of his chair, and the bald man also shuddered violently from the scare.
In fact, the reason the surveillance screen went black was because Yuga was about to come out of the spatial realm, so he had Chimecho go out first to destroy the camera.
Previously, he was only casually looking around and remained invisible, so there was no need to destroy the surveillance system. But now, with Crobat and Golbat causing such a commotion, he had to be more cautious.
On Yuga's side, as soon as Gengar and the others exited the spatial realm, it disappeared automatically. It wasn't like Regigigas' folded space that could exist for a long time.
With the space gone, the Crobats and Golbats came crashing down like dumplings, making loud thudding noises as they hit the ground.
Looking at the pile of unconscious Crobats and Golbats, Yuga ultimately decided to take them all away, because they had already seen him inside the space.
Who knew if the owner of this training facility had any psychic-type Pokémon capable of telepathy? If they were questioned and gave something away, it would be a disaster.
Just as Yuga was troubled about how to transport this group of Crobats and Golbats, Dusknoir stepped forward. The yellow pattern on its abdomen suddenly split open, transforming into a huge mouth that swallowed the Crobats and Golbats one by one.
Yuga had always known that the mouth on Dusknoir's abdomen connected to a pocket dimension, but he hadn't expected it to have this kind of function.
There was no time to waste. After dealing with the Crobats and Golbats, Yuga quickly left the training facility.
However, he didn't go far. Instead, he hid nearby and quietly contacted Ryuichi.
The reason he didn't leave was that he wanted to keep a close eye on the place. Since he had already alerted the enemy, he needed to figure out the relationship between this training facility and Team Radiance as soon as possible.
This training facility was far too suspicious, giving off an abnormal vibe in every aspect.
As for contacting Ryuichi, Yuga wanted him to come and take the Crobats and Golbats away. Dusknoir had told him that the Crobats and Golbats couldn't stay in its abdominal space for too long, otherwise they might be pulled into the ghost world once they were released.
Upon receiving Yuga's request, Ryuichi quickly arrived nearby, driving a truck.
After Yuga briefly showed himself and explained the situation, Ryuichi drove the truck away with the Crobats and Golbats, heading back to the estate.
Once the Crobats and Golbats were properly secured, Yuga and his ghost-type Pokémon continued monitoring the training facility.
At that moment, Yuga saw a surprising figure appear at the back door of the training facility—it was Genos, the head of the White Light Intelligence Bureau.
As soon as Genos appeared, a bald man came out to greet him.
"Boss!" the bald man called out to Genos.
So the owner of the training facility was actually Genos. This discovery left Yuga stunned.
Could it be that the White Light Intelligence Bureau and Team Radiance were connected?
Yuga was taken aback. If that were true, then Team Radiance was no ordinary group.
Just from their names—White Light and Radiance—there seemed to be a link. Yuga also knew that Genos's family controlled a jewelry company called Flowing Light.
The White Light Intelligence Bureau had existed for a long time. Its previous leaders came from noble backgrounds, and after the League was established, they supported it.
Although they had gradually withdrawn from the League system, their intelligence network remained extremely powerful and maintained ties with many individuals in the League.
If the White Light Intelligence Bureau was indeed connected to Team Radiance, it would completely explain why Team Radiance had spies like Kyoichi and Kyoni.
Since the White Light Intelligence Bureau specialized in intelligence, they were bound to have countless undercover agents.
Good thing I didn't leave! Yuga thought to himself.
Under Yuga's watchful eye, Genos entered the training facility, while the person behind him checked the surroundings to make sure no one was watching. But they had no idea that an invisible Yuga was secretly observing them.
Led by the bald man, Genos went down to the basement level for inspection. Along the way, the bald man had already told him everything he knew.
The sharp-eyed Genos sensed the presence of ghost-type Pokémon as soon as he entered the basement. In the past, he wouldn't have been so perceptive, but things were different now.
As for the "haunting" rumors spread by Aaron and the others, Genos sneered at them.
Still... whoever had the ability to take away so many of his Crobats and Golbats was likely not an easy opponent!
For a moment, Genos's mind flooded with questions: Who was the intruder? What were they after? Why did they take the Crobats and Golbats?
About half an hour later, Genos quietly left through the training facility's back door again, and Yuga silently followed him.
He decided to temporarily put aside tailing the training facility and instead focus on figuring out whether the White Light Intelligence Bureau and Team Radiance were truly connected.
After walking a bit farther from the training facility, Yuga saw a beautiful girl standing in front of a shop, looking around expectantly. Genos approached her with a smile.
Yuga recognized the girl—it was Genos's younger sister, Adrielle.
