Chapter 577: 577. Exploration (2)

They all continued to walk through the path and finally reached the relatively large open area in the tunnel.

This was the open area that was mentioned to be last explored by other awakened who came here in the past. But after this, there were two apparent paths and both of them were going down.

"Shall we split?" Mark asked.

While it was convenient to have Anna to lead the way, but it would be too much to let her be the one to guide the two paths in front of them. It would be better for them to split to make the exploration faster.

Anna was listening to the voice of the plants and then turned to one of the tunnels. "We will pick this one."

"Ok."

With that, their group went their separate ways.

After they walked for a while, Dylan suddenly asked, "Is there any big mutated animals in this path?"

"Perhaps," Anna replied. "This tunnel lead further deep down while the other path will lead to some big mutated animals but it’s a dead end."

There was a limit to how far she could hear the plant’s voice. It was thanks to them that she would be able to know more information about this area.

However, Anna didn’t tell Mark and the others that it was a dead end.

In any case, they still have to eliminate the existing big mutated animals, so it could be used by them to finish their missions. It was just that their exploration would end in a dead end.

"I see." Dylan nodded. "How about the big mutated animals’ strength?"

"At most rank 4, they should be able to deal with it," Anna replied. Through the plants’ voice and thoughts, Anna was able to roughly determine the strength of these big mutated animals from time to time.

It was not completely accurate, but the ranking for both big mutated animals and awakened humans encompassed quite a big range for each rank. Thanks to this, Anna would be able to determine the overall strength of her enemies.

The three people were already rank 5, so if it was only rank 4, even if there were a few big mutated animals, they would be able to deal with it.

Anyway, the fighting strength of those three were good.

They have been tempered after fighting who know how many big mutated animals out there.

Dylan and Anna continued to walk down.

The air circulation was getting worse as they came down, but both Dylan and Anna didn’t feel much with it. Their body’s ability was already far better than how they used to be, so even if there was less oxygen around, they would still be able to live.

It was only a bit uncomfortable at the beginning before they would adapt to it within few seconds.

It was amazing.

Anna suddenly stopped.

"What is it?" Dylan asked.

In terms of detection and so on, the one who could do it well was Anna and not Dylan. So even if Dylan was still wary of his surroundings, Anna would definitely able to detect dangers faster than him.

In this way, Anna was the one who was responsible for scouting.

"There’s a cave below," Anna replied with a frown. "There’s water and a lot of plants there and the plant seems to be living well."

But it’s strange.

How come there’s such a big cave several hundred meters below the ground and these plants were all still living well?

Anna felt that there was something fishy.

"Shall we check?" Dylan was more interested in this cave and felt that he should go there and check with Anna. If there was anything there, then it would be more interesting for them.

"Ok."

With that, the two of them slowly made their way down slowly. They made sure that they didn’t make any unnecessary noise and slowly arrived at the cave that Anna mentioned.

Just like what she said, there was a lake there with various plants growing beside the lake and looked extremely well.

So well that it looked rather dreamy.

Who would have thought that there was such a beautiful place deep underground?

And the strange thing was that there was no presence of any big mutated animals around the area.

"The big mutated animals that dug this place didn’t stay here?" Dylan asked and looked around. There didn’t seem to be any other path out of this beautiful cave here.

There were only some small plants and looking at the few plants stuck on the wall, it seemed to glow a bit, which give this cave some light aside from their flashlight.

Anna looked around the place and could sense these plants were telling her some words.

Even though it was not very clear, but Anna could sense their feelings and pursed her lips slightly. These plants were all doing well on the surface around this lake, but they were not the only plants present in this place.

She turned to look at the lake.

"They’re down there."

Dylan’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the lake.

They had never fought any sea or water big mutated animals in the past year or so. After all, the geographical terrains in this area was far from the water. Even if they wanted to, it would be impossible for them to find water creature big mutated animals.

Now, are they going to fight these big mutated animals?

Dylan crouched beside the lake and then put his hand on the water, carefully sensing the water.

Even though Dylan’s element was ice, but he could still use the water element to a certain degree.

And through the water medium, Dylan was able to sense the situation at the bottom of the lake.

As Anna said, there were some big mutated animals down there.

And aside from some rank 5 or 6 big mutated animals, Dylan could sense an oppressive pressure form one of the big mutated animals there.
