In This Life, I Will Extremely Pamper My Short-Lived Husband-Chapter 50 - Fever
Chapter 50: Chapter 50 Fever
Chapter 50 -50 Fever
“Jinzhi, it’s really not that much trouble,” Xie Yanchuan said.
Xu Jinzhi, however, didn’t take it to heart, “What’s so troubling about it?”
“I think, although we are wealthy and the lab’s funding isn’t an issue, I’m not an expert in this field after all, and can only do so much. It’s better for you to interact more with those in the medical industry.”
“Although I know you’re not interested in those things and just want to focus on your experiments, resource exchange is still quite necessary.”
“As long as you know that you are capable of not being swayed by capital, that’s enough.”
Having been in business for many years and having observed since a young age, Xu Jinzhi naturally knew the intricacies involved, and Xie Yanchuan understood as well, but Xie Yanchuan just didn’t want the hassle.
Yet Xu Jinzhi still felt it was necessary, hence this incident.
But in the end, Xu Jinzhi earnestly said to Xie Yanchuan, “But no matter what, as long as you feel comfortable, that’s enough. If you really can’t stand dealing with it, then let it be.”
“Thank you,” Xie Yanchuan said very sincerely.
Xu Jinzhi chuckled, “How about expressing your thanks in another way?”
Her tone suddenly shifted, making it sound like she had ulterior motives.
Xie Yanchuan fell silent. Honestly, he was now able to grasp the indirect meaning behind Xu Jinzhi’s words.
After a brief silence, Xu Jinzhi haughtily huffed, “It seems you don’t really want to thank me.”
Xie Yanchuan thought to himself that he was truly grateful to Xu Jinzhi, but he wanted to thank her in a more serious manner.
However, Yanchuan did not voice this thought, feeling that if he did, Xu Jinzhi would have other traps waiting for him to fall into, so the wisest choice was to remain silent.
Fortunately, in the end, Xu Jinzhi changed the subject, or else the conversation would have stalled again.

Three days later.
Xu Jinzhi had finished her work here and was scheduled to catch a 3 PM flight back to City A.

She had lunch with several business magnates at noon and, because she needed to catch a plane later in the afternoon, stopped after a couple of drinks.
When it was almost time, Xu Jinzhi stood up to say goodbye to everyone before leaving.
But just as Xu Jinzhi stepped outside, she realized that it had begun raining heavily!
Stunned by the torrential downpour, Xu Jinzhi turned to Assistant Chen beside her, “With the rain this heavy, can we still go?”
The rain was indeed extremely heavy. It was unclear how long it had been raining, and it seemed that water had started pooling on the ground. There were people outside holding umbrellas, but the umbrellas were utterly useless.
“It might stop soon, right?” Assistant Chen was unsure, having witnessed the peculiar weather in Province G over the past few days and suspecting that this rain would also end soon.
Xu Jinzhi and Assistant Chen had no choice but to wait, as their car was parked downstairs and they needed to walk down the steps themselves.
It was really less than a minute’s walk, but the rain made it seem far away.
After waiting for about five minutes, the rain showed no signs of letting up. Assistant Chen, looking at the time, expressed concern, “It’s getting late. If we don’t leave now, we might miss the plane.”
Xu Jinzhi also checked the time. Logically, there should have been enough time, but with the sudden rain, the road conditions were unpredictable.
Frowning in hesitation, Xu Jinzhi said, “Let’s see if the front desk has umbrellas. If not, ask the Driver to bring umbrellas up.”
Although Xu Jinzhi didn’t want the driver to get drenched for no reason, if the front desk didn’t have any, that meant the hotel’s design, as aesthetically pleasing as it was, wasn’t rain-friendly.
Assistant Chen went inside and quickly came out with two umbrellas. Xu Jinzhi and Assistant Chen each took one and headed straight out.
As a result, both Xu Jinzhi and Assistant Chen got soaked, especially from the waist down. Their trouser legs and shoes were completely drenched.
Their colleagues had already taken their luggage to the airport, so even though they were wet, they had no choice but to endure it until they reached the airport.
The car’s air conditioning was on because the temperature in Province G had reached 38 degrees, but now, having been rained on, Xu Jinzhi felt cold sitting inside.
“Turn down the air conditioning a bit,” Xu Jinzhi requested.
“Sure, Mr. Xu,” the driver quickly adjusted the air conditioning and asked Xu Jinzhi if it was okay before stopping.
Having endured until the airport, Xu Jinzhi was relieved that they had alerted the team in advance not to check in their luggage, enabling her to get some clean clothes.
After getting the clothes, she asked a subordinate to handle the luggage check-in, and she and Assistant Chen quickly changed.
Having changed into dry clothes, Xu Jinzhi finally felt a bit more comfortable.
The only piece of good news was that the plane could take off as scheduled, making their effort in rushing through the rain worthwhile.
Shortly after boarding the plane, Xu Jinzhi began feeling dizzy in her head. She usually didn’t suffer from airsickness, but now she felt nauseous and overall very uncomfortable.
Struggling to persist, Xu Jinzhi clenched her eyebrows and closed her eyes, wondering to herself if she could be so “lucky” as to have caught a cold.
As she pondered, Xu Jinzhi fell asleep.
Assistant Chen also vaguely felt unwell, thinking that he had shared hardships with Mr. Xu and subconsciously preparing to check on her, only to find his boss looking very uncomfortable.
“Mr. Xu?” Assistant Chen called softly.
But Xu Jinzhi seemed not to hear at all, without any response.
Assistant Chen became panicked and hurriedly called the flight attendant, “Hello, could you please check on Mr. Xu?”
The flight attendant quickly came to check and soon confirmed that Xu Jinzhi had a fever, but Xu Jinzhi was still conscious; she woke up when the flight attendant touched her.
“What’s wrong?” Xu Jinzhi opened her eyes, her eyebrows still tightly furrowed, her voice hoarse as she asked.
“Miss Xu, you have a fever,” the flight attendant replied softly.
Still frowning, Xu Jinzhi’s reaction was sluggish; it took her a while to realize, yes, she felt unwell, probably having developed a fever.
Xu Jinzhi swallowed hard but didn’t speak.
“We’ll take your temperature first and then administer emergency treatment,” the flight attendant said gently.
Xu Jinzhi nodded, then closed her eyes again, obviously feeling very uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, after assisting with taking her temperature, the flight attendant went to fetch a fever-reducing patch to apply to Xu Jinzhi.
