Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System-Chapter 426: Stupid Black Chicken!
Once again, the Arena went deathly silent. As waves of wind blew past their stupefied faces, they inched their heads behind them.
There he was…
Avariel. #1 prodigy of the present Era.
Knocked out cold, planted into the side of a wall with froth leaking out of his mouth.
Hellea stared at this scene in utter disbelief.
The man who—even after giving her everything in a fight—had still pushed her to her absolute limits. A man like that was really…
Defeated in an instant…?
And by someone not even a thousand years old!?
However, rather than feel disappointed or angry, Hellea felt an uncanny sense… of attraction! freewёbnoνel.com
"Remember, Daughter." The eloquent voice of her mother rang out inside her head. "If ever you find a man who's unparalleled in every way, shape, or form, make sure you snatch him up for yourself and never let go!"
Unparalleled Power…
Unparalleled Talent…
Unparalleled Appearance…
This man was the one!
"Don't worry, Mother, I won't disappoint you," said Hellea as she clenched her fists with resolve. "With my looks, I'll surely capture him and chain him in a basement just like you instructed!"
"Is someone talking about me?" Bella showed a confused look, wearily scanning her surroundings in search of the one planning to copy her future methods. "Well, whatever. More importantly, my hubby has become even more handsome and cooler! Kya~!"
All the other girls familiar with Cassius were thinking along the same lines. Suspended in mid-air like an otherworldly deity with an ethereal glow, he was nothing like how he was when last they met.
"Is that… really Cass…?" Sasha held her hands against her bosom, staring at his ungodly visage through a screen. "Just what has he been through since his Ascension…?"
Aya revealed a complicated frown. "That big dummy," she mumbled, her heart a jumbled mess. "He went and got even further away from us…"
Sasha and Stella felt an uncanny sense of heartache, same as with Viola and even Hellion—a beautiful Egyptian woman who, even with her leveraging Cassius's Demon King cultivation, had no idea just how powerful he had become.
A pair of clear golden eyes also glistened in slight sorrow when they glimpsed the unearthly man above.
"Even after all the training I've done, I can't even begin to see through his strength…" Memphis murmured, her emotions a big mess. "Will I never be able to stand side by side with him…? Will I… never be able to repay him for saving me all those hundreds of years ago…?"
Among the younger generation of Angels, Avariel was considered to be #1. However, that was actually false.
It was just that Memphis had already ascended to the Godlike Rank, so everyone no longer saw her as part of the younger generation. Just like Cassius, they were now true powerhouses of the Ascension Tower.
Even so, in her heart, they were still worlds apart…
In another dimension, a doe-eyed girl with long brown hair lay motionless beneath the glow of a large TV mounted above her bed. Her body had long since failed her—paralyzed by a condition that left her barely able to breathe, let alone move. And yet, her eyes remained fixed on the screen.
A faint, trembling whisper escaped her lips. "Cass... you did what you prom...ised…"
Grace managed a smile—soft, lovely, but tinged with pain. She had been living on borrowed time for weeks. Even a miracle like the Tear of Yggdrasil, were it placed in her hands now, would likely come too late.
The only thing keeping her tethered to life had been hope. The selfish hope that he would come through for her. That he would keep his word.
And he did.
That was more than she could ever wish for.
She could die happily knowing that he cared enough about her to face the entire world…
As her vision began to fade, her lips curled once more. With the last flicker of strength she had left, she mouthed a final, heartfelt, "Thank you…"
And then, she was still.
With Grace's life and death unknown, Cassius immediately turned his head in her direction. His gaze quickly frosted over as he returned his focus back to the Ancestors of Yggdrasil.
"You may know who I am. You may not," he said coldly, causing waves of chills to spread throughout the surroundings. "I don't care either way. I'll keep things very simple. So simple that even the most smooth-brained of idiots can understand what's coming out of my mouth."
An indescribable sense of dread drastically altered the expressions of everyone in the Arena as Cassius gave his ultimatum:
"Give me however much of the highest quality Tears of Yggdrasil you have and I leave. Or…
I kill you all and take what I want anyway."
Shock!
Stunned!!
Astonished!!!
Nobody could believe what they were hearing!
Directly asking for free-choose-reign over highest-quality Tears of Yggdrasil!? And if the Ancestors refused, they'd die!?
No matter how arrogant someone was, they couldn't possibly be this arrogant!
OOOM!
All 12 of the Yggdrasil Ancestors erupted in unimaginable levels of anger, with their raging red auras engulfing the skies for countless miles. The entirety of the Dimension bore witness to their unfathomable, seemingly unlimited power.
"That lad is really making a mess of things." The Heavenly Father spoke as if he were worried, but was crazily smiling at the same time. "I can't wait to see how this turns out, haha!"
Beezlebub was thinking along the same lines, having not been this excited in an untold number of years.
Adam glanced over at God, making an annoyed expression.
'That cunning bastard is definitely up to something.'
He just didn't know what that something was.
"If you admit your mistakes now and apologize, we'll forgive you for your transgressions!" The Eldest Yggdrasil Ancestor's fearsome aura grew in everyone's eyes, with the vast majority of it pressuring a single person. "If not, then you shall face the consequences of your ignorant arrogance!!"
Cassius apathetically stared at the Eldest Ancestor, unblinking and unflinching.
"I take it this means you're rejecting the first option?" he asked while already aware of the answer. "Very well then. Option 2 it is."
His figure began to blur.
But before a move could be made, a black-winged angel rocketed up. Cassius was hit dead-on in the side, knocked billions of miles into the sky in a flash of radiant light.
"Cassius—!"
Aya, Sasha, and any other girl who hadn't been around him in the last period of time felt their hearts constrict.
"Why are you thots freaking out?" Zara suddenly and quietly appeared beside Bella, who was holding the tablet featuring all the girls. "My Master is not someone who will lose to that fossil with Daddy issues."
"Yep, yep, Mashter will beat up that black chicken just like this! Pow! Pow!" Yimin mimicked a professional boxer, though did so very badly. "Stupid chick will be like huh!? Then already be deader than dead!"
"Yeah, won't be an issue for him." Exisia and Maxy chimed in, appearing just as silently as the first two. "I'd be more worried about the Great Demon King. Opposing Cass is definitely not the luckiest highlight of his life."
"???"
