"... The cubes can use the power of space, void, and matter, it seems," Elisabetha said. "They can combine it by attacking and hitting you no matter what."

"I am very aware of it..." Rain said while looking at the countless cubes spinning around.

Rain couldn’t let the cubes attack him as they saw fit... and while he couldn’t see any escape, he could tell that they also worked as a barrier to prevent him from escaping from that layer... it was actually quite a nasty encirclement... like Rain had been inside the body of a giant organism able to devour entire worlds and assimilate them.

All of a sudden, Rain used Origin Punch and the attack made a large explosion take place in the middle of the enemies lines... before long, one of the cubes began to fall from the sky completely destroyed. However, Rain didn’t get any experience and then before long, the cube began to repair itself and in a matter of seconds, it was back to normal.

"Some of those fuckers give experience while others don’t... pisses me off," Rain furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance.

Before Rain could get more pissed, the cubes attacked again. This time, they fired some weird cylinders that flew toward Rain... Rais could have made them appear already hitting Rain, but he didn’t do that for some reason.

Rain flew away to escape from them, but the cylinders began to chase him... they had a hooming effect. That was troublesome since the cubes kept firing them.

"He sure has a lot of energy to use..." Rain thought while furrowing his eyebrows.

In the end, Rain realized that running away was a waste of time... he had to deal with them and soon decided to punch them and destroy those and absorb some of its kinetic energy, but when Rain punched the first, he felt his fists cracking.

"What..." Rain thought, and then the first projectile pushed him backward.

As Rain was pushed by the towering cylinders that now dominated the battlefield, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of apprehension. While their size was comparable to his own, the sheer mass and density of the metal from which they were constructed were readily apparent. These were no ordinary obstacles; they were formidable barriers built to withstand even the most powerful of assaults.

With a deep breath, Rain summoned his courage and launched himself forward, his fist crashing into the unyielding surface of the nearest cylinder with all the force he could muster. But to his surprise, his blow barely made a dent, the metal proving far tougher and more resilient than he had anticipated.

As the shock of impact reverberated through his body, Rain realized the full extent of the challenge that lay before him. Rain withdrew his battered fist, his mind racing as he considered his next move. If brute force alone would not suffice to defeat these formidable foes, he would need to rely on cunning and strategy to find a way to overcome them.

Before long, the other projectiles began to hit Rain from all directions, and he felt his body being crushed... he called that attack a heavy mass projectile. Combining the aspect of space and matter, that was something easy to do. It was a simple attack but hard to counter.

Before long, some large amounts of dust began to fall from the area, and then eventually, Rain appeared... his arms were broken, but he was still able to block the attacks of the heavy mass projectiles; some of them turned into dust immediately while others suddenly vanished.

The skill Space Compression received 1.000 experience points.

The skill Information Extraction received 1.000 experience points.

...

Before long, Rain stopped suffering damage from the attacks, and soon, the cubes stopped firing those projectiles... Rais could tell that Rain extracted all the information from the projectiles and stored others away with his space magic, but he didn’t think that Rain would be able to pull that off so fast.

Rain hadn’t defeated Loks more than a few a months ago, but it seemed that he already had total control over that aspect... even higher than Rais and what he learned from it. The real troublesome issue was the fact that Rain had insanely more energy than he was supposed to, and that was hard to phantom.

In any case, there were other tricks that cubes could do and Rais wanted to test all of them before going all out, but Rain was fasted... using Portal Conjuration, he touched the cubes and then used information Extraction. The cubes began to fall apart, unable to restore themselves.

The Space Manipulator path received 10.000 experience points.

The Matter weaver path received 10.000 experience points.

The Void Path received 10.000 experience points.

...

Rain was gaining a lot of experience in a bunch of paths since the cubes used several types of magic. Still, Rais didn’t let things keep going easy for him...

From the dark side of the cubes, they began to spit around a dark liquid... it didn’t fire toward Rain, I thought. They fired around.

The dark liquid began to coalesce and intertwine in the air, weaving a sinister web that seemed to pulse with malevolent energy. With each passing moment, the strands of the liquid drew closer together, filling the spaces.

Meanwhile, the dark cubes that filled the holes in the walls of the chamber continued to multiply, their jagged edges fitting together with an eerie precision. As they expanded and merged, they formed a barrier that seemed to enclose the entire space, sealing off any hope of escape.

As Rain gazed upon this surreal spectacle, a sense of foreboding washed over him like a shadow creeping across his mind. And then, as if on cue, he began to hear it. The telltale static noise that heralded the disruption of his mana.
