Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1493: Jinxed
Chapter 1493: Jinxed
Rais was actually losing a battle of information extraction against Rain. He was losing in the area where he was supposed to be the very best... Finding the reason for that was very simple. Even if the information wasn’t obvious, just a quick look would be enough. However, the smile of satisfaction on Rain’s face enraged the machine god... even though Rain was covered in blood and a bunch of his bones were broken... that still pissed Rais off, very much so.
Rain teleported in front of Rain and then barraged his face with countless punches and then added kicks to his stomach... Rain’s body was sent from one side to the other with each impact, but the damage wasn’t piling up... something was off, and soon Rais realized that Rain’s stance was the same... his palms together, and he was still using his technique... it didn’t take long for Rais to realize that the rain technique was decreasing the power of his attacks just before he landed on Rain... in that brief fraction of a second the water particles appeared, made the attacks lose power, and they also extracted information from Rais’ body.

"It was about damn time, overseer... just how incompetent can you be?" Rain asked. "Anyway, don’t mind me. Keeping attacking like a retard. You can use other techniques, too. I will learn them in no time."
It was obvious that Rain was taunting Rais... but it was obvious that he wasn’t just lying. The best way to annoy the opponent was to say the last thing that they wanted to hear and to make it possible to happen as well...
"Enough!" Rais shouted.
The digital domain surrounding them began to tremble and glitch, the very fabric of the digital landscape warping and distorting in response to the machine god’s growing anger and frustration. It was a sight to behold, the once pristine and orderly realm now descending into chaos and disorder as Rais’ emotions threatened to overwhelm his carefully constructed facade of control.
Unlike Hilo, who found excitement and exhilaration in the heat of battle, Rais was a being of logic and calculation—a being who prized order and predictability above all else. For him, combat was not a source of pleasure or enjoyment but a necessary means to an end—a way to achieve his goals and objectives with ruthless efficiency and precision.
And so, as Rain continued to defy his expectations and challenge his authority, Rais found himself pushed to the brink of his patience, his normally composed demeanor slipping away to reveal the simmering anger and frustration that lay beneath. In his eyes, Rain was not a worthy adversary to be respected and admired, but an irritant—a nuisance that needed to be eradicated before it could disrupt his carefully laid plans any further.
"I will erase you from existence!" Rais shouted.
"You wouldn’t be the first to try," Rain said while smirking deviously. "I can even give you some tips on how to do that to make this worth the while."
It seemed that Rais was serious, though... he pointed his hands at Rain, and then the pixels in the dimension began to move toward his hands quite fast.
The very pixels of the dimension began to coalesce and take shape, forming a weapon in the hands of the machine god. At first glance, it appeared to be an ordinary round cannon, its sleek metallic surface gleaming in the ethereal light of the digital landscape. But as the cannon grew larger and more imposing with each passing moment, it became clear that this was no ordinary weapon—it was Rais’s ultimate trump card, a devastating tool of destruction forged from the very fabric of the digital realm.
With a menacing hum, the cannon began to pulse with raw energy, its power building to a crescendo as Rais prepared to unleash its full might upon him. Rain watched with a mixture of surprise and apprehension as the massive weapon took shape before him, its sheer size and power dwarfing everything else in the vicinity.
It was a testament to Rais’ Mastery over the digital domain and his unwavering anger to emerge victorious at any cost. As the cannon continued to grow in size and stature, Rain knew that he would need to muster all of his strength and cunning if he hoped to stand a chance against such a formidable opponent.
"What now?" Elisabetha asked. "His words are a bit worrisome..."
Rais said that he would erase Rain out of existence... his words should be pretty literal and while Rain didn’t want to wait and see, he couldn’t just approach recklessly. The cannon had so much energy and data that made space bend and shake around it. Even if it isn’t fully prepared, an attack of that level would obliterate him.
"It is time to use your trump card if you have any," Elisabetha said.
"No shit, Sherlock," Rain said.

"It seems that the overseer is feeling a bit pressured as well..." Elisabetha said.
"I suppose the overseer is starting to bet on our side a bit more..." Rain said. "I just jinxed myself, didn’t I?"
Just like before, Rain felt that weird feeling... the static took over his body for a moment, and Rais’ expression of anger loosened a bit. Before long, his fears were confirmed.
