Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1533: Matter of time
Chapter 1533: Matter of time
"Stay on your guard and heal yourselves as soon as possible. This isn’t over yet," Sealyn said when Fortus began to spin again. "We can do this, stay focused and our victory is all but assured."
The sight of Fortus continuing to move without repairing himself provided a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos of battle. It suggested that while he possessed numerous skills and abilities, the ability to repair his damaged sides was not among them. This vulnerability presented an opportunity for the group to exploit, a chance to strike while the iron was hot.
With this realization, the group understood that they needed to act swiftly and decisively. They couldn’t afford to hesitate or hold back, they had to capitalize on Fortus’s weakness before he had a chance to recover or adapt his tactics. The situation’s urgency fueled their determination, driving them to redouble their efforts and push themselves to their limits.
"Those who use the Origin Punch, you know what you can do, right?" Terra asked. "You don’t have only a single fist... you can attack with your legs, too! It is time to show the enemy the extent of our willpower!"
"Why do I have the feeling that this is something that Rain would come out with?" Seara asked while grabbing the javelin with her other hand. "Oh, no... this feels like danger."
"That truly does look like something he would do, right?" Jori asked while smirking.
"The image of the friend that you guys have in your head is quite something..." Isa furrowed her eyebrows.
Unfortunately, Fortus managed to act before the group. All of a sudden, a bunch of Solar Dragons appeared in the sky, and then they immediately began to shoot the fire meteors.
As the warriors prepared to launch their coordinated attack on Fortus, their plans were abruptly interrupted by a barrage of fire meteors raining down from above. The projectiles were about to crash into the ground all around them, forcing the warriors to divert their attention and focus on defending themselves against the onslaught.
With swift reflexes, the warriors went into action, intercepting the incoming meteors and redirecting them away from their group with their Origin Strike. Despite the challenge posed by the falling debris, they proved to be more than capable of handling the situation, using their strength and skill to fend off the fiery onslaught.
After exploding in the air after being attacked, the debris of the projectiles fell around without causing much damage. It was annoying since they still increased the temperature a lot...
Frustration simmered among the warriors as they were forced to shift their focus from their intended target to dealing with the meteor shower. It was clear that Fortus had orchestrated this diversion to disrupt their plans and waste their time, and many among the group clicked their tongues in annoyance thanks to it.
"I will deal with them; the rest of you focus on attacking Fortus," Sealyn declared and then grabbed Elisabetha, too. "Make yourself useful..."
Sealyn began to fly in the sky and then approached the first target, who fired a blast of flames toward her... the air cracked thanks to the massive heat, but Sealyn still crossed the flames after firing a blast of water.
When she reached the beast, Sealyn swung her spear and the ominous sword and then slashed the face of the creature with all her might... the creature grunted in pain as blood gushed from the wound.
"She can handle her own... let’s attack again already," Seara said while showing a complicated expression.
Sealyn’s attacks sliced through the dragons with ease. The sharp edges of her weapons cleaved through their defenses as if they were nothing. Her precision and skill were evident as she dispatched her foes with ruthless efficiency, leaving no room for hesitation or doubt.
Despite the apparent ease with which Sealyn dispatched the dragons, her allies still felt uneasy. Watching her face off against the formidable creatures alone was a nerve-wracking experience, and many couldn’t help but feel a twinge of worry for her safety.
However, despite their concerns, Sealyn’s friends and allies had faith in her abilities. They knew that she was more than capable of handling herself in battle, and they trusted her to emerge victorious against those beasts.
Following Terra’s idea, everyone else begins to attack Fortus together nonstop. The sequence of Origin Strikes not only slowed down his spinning but also made him lose time analyzing the circumstances... seeing everyone breaking their limbs one after the other just to attack him confused him a lot.
Before long, another side of Fortus cracked and pieces of it began to fall from the sky. That stopped Fortus from spinning for a moment... the same thing happened again and again until the fifteenth side broke. Still, it looked like luck wasn’t on their side since they kept breaking their limbs until they couldn’t attack anymore and they were unable to attack the side that had the knowledge of the shield...
"If we could only tell which one has the knowledge of the shield... naturally, it wouldn’t be easy," Seara said.
"Keep going, don’t waste time," Terra said when she finished healing her limbs.
"Easy for you to say..." Seara said and then realized that her feet was sinking on the ground already.
As the effects of the gravity spell intensified, the strain on those caught within its grasp grew ever more powerful. What had begun as a subtle force now reached levels of intensity that bordered on the unbearable, causing some to collapse under the weight of their own bodies?
The spell’s pressure was relentless, squeezing the air from their lungs and draining the strength from their limbs. Blood trickled from their noses as the increased gravitational force and the poison in the air took their toll, leaving them weakened and vulnerable to their enemy’s scheme.
Even if Fortus ceased his attacks, it was only a matter of time before the spell exacted its toll on everyone present... freeweɓnovel.cѳm
