Chapter 1537: Paranoid

"I shall kill your closest friends without hesitation, and that will make you appear. If you take your time, then our battlefield will engulf all of them at the same time."

"You really don’t know how to take a joke," Rain’s voice suddenly echoed in the area.

Rain materialized out of thin air as if a cloak concealing his form had suddenly dissipated into nothing. Lonos’s gaze fell upon him, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. Yet, despite the doubts that lingered in the air, Rain showed an unmistakable aura of authenticity. He was not a mere illusion or a copy but a genuine article.

Lonos could feel the weight of Rain’s presence, a tangible force that seemed to defy explanation. It was as if he had emerged from the very fabric of reality itself, a living embodiment of his skill and determination.

As Rain stood before him, his resolve unshaken and his spirit steeled, Lonos could not help but feel a twinge of unease. The tables had turned, and the game was no longer in his favor. With Rain’s return, a new Chapter in their struggle had begun, one filled with uncertainty and peril.

"... How? I was certain that I killed you."

"Who knows? Maybe you aren’t as competent as you thought you should be," Rain shrugged. "You should know the reason that you can’t understand what is happening right now."

Lonos couldn’t deny that... he knew the reason. His best ability was also the source of his weakness... As someone who could see the future and always decide the best path, Lonos didn’t know how to deal with unexpected results. Even while he was studying the aspect of time, he obtained results pretty fast. Thus, he never had to deal with difficult situations where he would have to rely on his wits to solve some issues.

"I suppose I will have to force you to tell me once I defeat you again."

"I want to see you try your hardest this time to pull that off," Rain said and then smiled.

In the next moment, Lonos was punched in the face, and then he stumbled after taking several steps backward... that one hurt quite a bit. More than any others punched, Rain had launched on him until now.

Lonos opened his eyes widely when he recovered... he didn’t see the attack coming this time, and he had no idea how Rain pulled that off once again. He didn’t feel the aspect of time being used or any other aspect for that matter.

"In this short window of time you have gotten stronger again. You are truly the best test subject to test my power."

Lonos stopped the flow of time in the area again, and then he saw Rain froze with a smile on his face. Lonos quickly approached and then checked him from all angles... he was the real deal. There was no trick there... However, when Lonos attacked Rain with another Origin Strike... the body disintegrated instantly and then began to dissipate into particles like they were pixels on a computer screen.

"The information aspect... is that it?"

Lonos analyzed Rain intently, searching for any hint of deception or tricks. Despite the signs pointing to the presence of the Information aspect, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was amiss. Rain’s mastery of the aspect seemed too advanced, too refined to have escaped his keen senses entirely.

A sense of doubt gnawed at Lonos as he struggled to connect the evidence before him with his own intuition. It was inconceivable that Rain could have attained such a level of proficiency without leaving some trace of his power behind.

Yet, as he gazed upon Rain’s gaze and demeanor, Lonos couldn’t help but wonder if he had underestimated his adversary once again. Perhaps there was more to Rain than met the eye, a depth of strength and cunning that transcended even Lonos’s understanding.

"The power to erase things completely without leaving a trace... the void aspect." ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"Well, aren’t you smart?" Rain asked when he appeared behind Lonos.

"Such a simple technique... I can’t believe that I let that surprise me."

"Right?" Rain asked. "You can do the same thing!"

"... This doesn’t explain how you survived,"

"Right..." Rain shrugged. "Use your big head to understand it. In the meantime, I will do my own thing."

Rain crossed his arms, and then Lonos was punched once again.. he clicked his tongue in annoyance since that was starting to get old. It was impossible that Rain was using the void aspect and the time aspect together to escape from Lonos Foresight, but it seemed the only explanation. Combining them should be the only thing that Rain can do to buy time while he gets on Lono’s level. So, he just had to get rid of him before that became possible...

"Let’s change our battlefield. Your friends will want to see this."

"Let’s not," Rain and then he snapped his fingers.

This time, Lonos was able to see Rain using his power and creating a dimension with the power of void and information. He could tell the pixels In the details of everything around, at the same time, the power of the void had been used to cut all contact with the outside world... Lonos could destroy that, but he would have to expose himself to Rain for a few moments.

"You see, when it comes to protecting my friends and family, I am quite paranoid," Rain said. "While I didn’t predict any of your abilities, I came up with some countermeasures to fake my death. For example, creating a copy of myself, so perfect that it would have even my memories... I didn’t have time to make one in the middle of the battle, but I had the chance to move my destroyed parts to the pocket dimension and then use those parts to rebuild my body. Just before you killed me, I used Astral Projection to move to the other body. All in order to buy some time for myself once you believed that I was dead, I was able to use Time Dilation to come up with some other countermeasures."
