Infinite Wealth System: Crazy Tasks, Insane Rewards!-Chapter 33: Meeting Kurtis Vane
Chapter 33: Meeting Kurtis Vane
Jayden got to see every new worker in the company and had the old ones who were staying introduced to him as well.
After revealing his plans to them, it was clear that these people had hope in him. Not only was his idea promising, but his zeal was strong.
"If we can do what’s right and work together, we will take Zintech to the very top," Jayden said as he clenched his fist, giving them a hopeful sign of confidence.
The entire board ended up giving their new boss a standing ovation as they applauded, giving him the respect he deserved.
Though he might look very young... Of course, he is very young. There was no other option but to believe in him and work hard to succeed together.
Plus, the fact that he was young didn’t mean he wasn’t capable. After all, he owned the company. He was rich enough to buy it.
Jayden had a special talk with the Ambassador, the Manager, the General Technology Officer, and the General Mechanical Officer in his office after the conference meeting.
This was to discuss how they’d carry out their projects smoothly and make sure it was a success.
"Welcome," he greeted them and had them sit in the sitting room inside the office.
"It’s not going to be an easy one, sir... A Level 5 Autonomy. It’s never been created anywhere in the world," the General Technology Officer, Theo, said.
"That’s why I want us to stand out. Make your analysis and research. Pen down every item we need and tell the Research team to find out the price of each and every one of them. We will need to create a hundred units of the three models, each," Jayden stated.
"We already did, for the mechanical and electrical aspects. It’s only up to the Tech management to reveal what building the AI Core would cost," the General Mechanical Officer, Noah, stated.
"Good to hear," Jayden smiled.
"Sir, it would cost as much as $13,000,000. We don’t know about the design and technology operations yet," Noah added.
"Sir, I already made my findings. Although I’ve never tried creating a Level 5 Autonomy AI-powered car before, if we have to create one, it’s going to cost us up to four million dollars. An AI that can detect all routes in the world," Theo said.
"That wouldn’t be a problem. The work is. We will need to get down with it as soon as possible, at least within two months," Jayden said.
"I’ll get the design manager to sum up the needs for his works. That’s on me," Sabrina stated, giving a nod.
Jayden nodded back and turned to Peter, the Manager.
"We’ll make sure everything goes well," Peter assured, letting out a simple, professional smile.
When they all began to leave after the meeting, Jayden called Sabrina back after recalling something important.
"I might not be present for the rest of the week. The job’s on you," Jayden said.
Sabrina only nodded in approval before leaving right after.
’Uhh... What a skill. System on it again,’ Jayden praised the system immediately after Sabrina left.
The Operational Charisma Intelligence was like magic, taking over his brain for a moment and ended up giving him a great idea.
Jayden wouldn’t have thought about such a thing on his own... He knew it, and that’s why he had decided that he would always use the skill for stuff like this.
> [Good choice. Thinking outside the box is the best way to come out unique and successful, sometimes.]
Jayden nodded with a smile. "I believe you."
He spent some time writing down some things he had in mind about the whole construction and official management before he decided to leave.
He went straight to the Arcadia Lounge since it was already quite late.
(7:15 PM).
He was really late, but he had no regrets at all.
"I hope he gets impatient and leaves," Jayden muttered.
However, the direct opposite happened as he saw Kurtis, sitting comfortably in the VVIP lounge, where he had stayed and watched the auction.
"Hey, Jayden. Over here," Kurtis Vane called the moment he noticed him, his tone soft and free, like he was just talking to a friend.
Jayden gave an indifferent stare, adjusted his suit, and walked forward.
There were three bodyguards watching the area, dressed in black suits but they were not armed, unlike Silas Vane who they said was always surrounded by armed men.
"Come on. Sit," Kurtis offered a seat, the look on his face as bright as light.
Jayden still didn’t act like he was impressed. With the glare on him, one could notice that he wasn’t interested in jokes here.
"I’m glad that you honored my invite," Kurtis said.
However, Jayden didn’t reply.
Soon, a waiter brought wine and two gold cups. She poured and served a cup to each of them, but Jayden ended up dropping his on the table, a clear show of his unfriendliness.
Kurtis noticed and smiled, giving a soft shrug.
"I know this wasn’t an easy invite to accept, but..." Kurtis tried to speak, but Jayden immediately interrupted.
"You’re right. It wasn’t." Jayden’s voice had no heat, only the stillness of something colder. "Vane and Kingsley were practically married at the time my father was torn down. Now suddenly, you want a meeting."
Kurtis sighed... He let that sit in the air a moment. He didn’t argue.
Of course, why would he? He knew Jayden had every right to be mad at the Vanes for not standing by his father, who he believed they knew was innocent.
"I won’t waste your time, but trust me. This is something very important," Kurtis said, his tone sincere.
"Get on with it," Jayden still glared, his actions still looked like he didn’t care.
Kurtis hesitated for a moment and began.
"I know you want revenge for what happened to your father. I saw that aura in you at the auction. And trust me, I know your father was innocent."
"Where is this coming from? You all conspired against him and got him killed for a crime he didn’t commit," Jayden frowned.
"Trust me, Jayden. My brother and I... we never knew your father was guilty. I mean, Gregory made sure that no one outside knew the truth... He only planned it with your father’s subordinates and forged proofs," Kurtis replied.
"Why are you telling me all this?" Jayden glared. "You are one of the last people I expected such a thing from."
"It’s because we discovered the truth. My brother, Silas, and I want to help you get revenge and bring the Kingsleys down. After what they did to your father, they don’t deserve to be at such a height in life," Kurtis stated.
"Tch! As if you care. Just go ahead and say the Vanes and the Kingsleys are no longer allies. You can’t fool me, Mr. Kurtis," Jayden let out a soft laugh.
Now, that was a guess from Jayden. He didn’t actually know if the Vanes and the Kingsleys were no longer allies, but that was the surest of predictions to make.
Because definitely... He knew the Vanes couldn’t just come telling him this just like that.
Kurtis couldn’t help but sigh deeply, troubled by the young man’s smartness.
"Alright. Perhaps you must have heard that Gregory went on with the Grand Development Project alone... He betrayed us. Me... My brother. Our long alliance. He even went—"
"Actually, that’s none of my business. With all due respect," Jayden interrupted, his voice cold.
Kurtis nodded.
"Right. It’s not. But I want you to cooperate with us. We can help you get revenge and make Gregory and his family pay."
"No, thanks. I don’t need your help. I will get revenge for my father by myself," Jayden said as he attempted to stand up and leave.
"Wait up... You have to understand me. Do you think you can win a case against him on your own?" Kurtis asked, his voice sharp.
"Wanna bet?" Jayden replied with a look of disdain.
"Phew... You are quite a stubborn one. I like that," Kurtis shook his head.
"I’m stubborn. I know. That’s why I have refused to back down. I will avenge my father and destroy the Kingsleys. Pray I don’t come looking for the Vanes too," Jayden said and walked away.
Kurtis was almost dumbfounded, but he really wanted to make use of this time to get something interesting out of Jayden. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
He had to do something, believing that Jayden wouldn’t be able to do it on his own.
"Wait...!"
Just when Jayden was reaching the stairs, Kurtis called out.
Jayden sighed out of frustration and rolled his eyes, turning.
"The Kingsleys have a strong relationship with the government. You know that. Even if you try hard, you would never win a case against them.
"Think about it... A young man like you suing a man who always finds favor in the hands of the judge. What outcome does that bring?"
Hearing this, Jayden’s eyes darkened as his gaze dropped. Really, something had truly shaken him...
That last statement hit hard.
And truly, he remembered just how Gregory was able to send his father to jail so easily and go free...
It was indeed true...
Gregory Kingsley isn’t a mere force to face.
