Invisible Security Guard-Chapter 64 Someone
64: Chapter 64: Someone
64 -64: Someone
Tyler Nash, seemingly righteous and a gentleman, was also the vice president of a major corporate group.
But in reality, he was a despicable, filthy scoundrel.
In Knox Nash’s eyes, his second uncle was a pervert, a bisexual one at that.
Tyler Nash asked him to arrange a dinner with Ruth Wilcox for the evening, ostensibly to confirm the contract for the next day.
In actuality, once Ruth Wilcox attended the dinner, there was no escaping his second uncle’s clutches.
Knox Nash remembered that his second uncle always had aphrodisiacs and other date-rape drugs in his bag; he had harmed countless people with them.
In recent years, there was a rich second generation in Taiwan named Errol Cooke who specialized in drugging and raping celebrities, and he even **** his stepmother.
Yet Tyler Nash was even more despicable than Errol Cooke.
Being a child born outside of the main family line, Knox Nash held a minuscule percentage of shares in the company and would never hold significant power in the Parker clan since he was not from the direct line.
He could only assist his cousins.
Of course, Knox Nash was a troublemaker and a little bastard himself, but he always believed that seducing women should not be low.
He could be frivolous but never indecent.
And his second uncle was definitely indecent, worse than the lowest of the low.
However, as he was currently working under his second uncle, he had to obey his commands and even couldn’t tip anyone off.
If he did tip anyone off, he was sure to face terrible consequences.
He returned to his office, lit a cigarette, and fell into deep contemplation.
Ruth Wilcox was his senior at university.
They both studied in the UK and, being Chinese, they often attended social gatherings together, forming a close-knit community.
While at school, Ruth Wilcox was an absolute beauty, pursued by many.
Even Knox Nash had lusted after her charm but was sternly rejected by her.
In fact, Ruth Wilcox never even gave him a second glance.
Knox Nash also knew that the men Ruth Wilcox held in regard were few and far between.
During their time studying overseas, he never heard of her dating anyone.
Ruth Wilcox also never frequented nightclubs or indulged in similar activities.
She was an especially stable and mature woman.
Many people with personal issues sought her counsel, thus she held a respected position in their social circle.
And now, he was troubled by having to help his scoundrel of a second uncle arrange a meeting with Ruth Wilcox.
After smoking three or four cigarettes and thinking hard, Knox Nash finally dialed Ruth Wilcox’s phone number.
At that time, Ruth Wilcox had already arrived at the hotel with Yusuf Zuck and others.
She had called Yusuf Zuck to her room to inquire about Sara Zuck’s whereabouts and to prepare for a few days of sightseeing in Shanghai, as she had promised Sara.
Before she could begin the conversation with Yusuf Zuck, her phone rang and she gestured for Yusuf Zuck to take a seat.
“Knox, what is it?” Ruth Wilcox asked with a smile as she answered the call.
“Senior sister, did you bring a bodyguard to Shanghai?” Knox Nash naturally had a smiling face and always appeared cheerful and amiable with everyone.
“Uh…
why are you asking that?” Ruth Wilcox was taken aback.
“Nothing much, just wondering,” Knox Nash replied with a laugh.
“I brought a driver,” Ruth Wilcox said, sensing there was more to Knox Nash’s words, but she didn’t ask directly.
“Oh,” Knox Nash responded, and continued, “Here’s the thing, my second uncle just spoke to me.
He said there are no issues with your planning proposal in principle; it’s almost confirmed, but there are some details he needs to discuss with you.
So, he has planned to invite you to dinner tonight at the Yilu Italian Restaurant at 7:30 PM!”
“Also, my second uncle mentioned that once the details are discussed, the contract should be ready to sign tomorrow!”
“Really?
That’s great!” Ruth Wilcox exclaimed, nearly jumping with excitement.
Securing this large order would definitely score her major points in her family, and they would provide her with substantial resources.
Furthermore, the expansion of their ventures into the domestic market would now be truly set in motion.
“However, senior sister, Shanghai is not safe lately.
It would be best to bring your driver,” Knox Nash advised, “That’s it for now, I have to hang up!”
“Oh.” Ruth Wilcox was an extremely intelligent woman.
Knox Nash’s earlier mention of a bodyguard, now reminding her to bring her driver and mention of safety concerns – what was he implying?
Yusuf Zuck sat on the sofa throughout and had heard the entire conversation from Knox Nash’s side, as his hearing was exceptionally sharp.
He also felt something was off, as if Knox Nash had something to say but hadn’t spelled it out, merely hinted at it.
After hanging up the phone, Ruth Wilcox pondered for a few seconds and then said to Yusuf Zuck, “We’re having dinner with Mr.
Nash tonight.
You’re coming with me.”
“Sure, I got it.” Yusuf Zuck nodded with a smile.
“By the way, where’s Sara?
Call her and arrange to meet tomorrow.
We’ll all go out together.” Ruth Wilcox sat down on the bed relaxed, the weight she had been carrying seemed to have lifted.
After tonight, after dinner with Mr.
Nash, everything would be set in stone.
“Sara is out with friends.
But Ms.
Wilcox, if this is confirmed, I’d like to return to the capital the day after tomorrow.
There’s something I need to take care of!” Yusuf Zuck had no intention of staying in Shanghai any longer.
He needed to deal with Otis Quinn before his sister started school, to avoid future trouble.
“What could possibly be so important?” Ruth Wilcox looked at him quizzically.
How could Yusuf Zuck always have something to do?
“My friend, who lent me a million bucks, is back from abroad and waiting to get paid,” Yusuf Zuck lied.
Ruth Wilcox was quick to respond, “If he needs it urgently, I can transfer it from the bank first, and then I’ll just keep his cash when it’s available!”
“There’s also a letter in that money.
He’s mainly interested in the letter,” Yusuf Zuck continued to lie.
“All right, all right, always busy with something,” Ruth Wilcox rolled her eyes at him with a hint of coquetry.
Yusuf Zuck laughed, and Ruth Wilcox couldn’t be bothered to respond, but she didn’t ask him to leave, and they just sat in the room in silence.
The atmosphere suddenly became quiet, carrying a hint of intimacy and a slight awkwardness.
“By the way, Jerome Hart said he’s been to see your grandfather for treatment, and that he’s pretty awesome.
He also mentioned that you used to stay at his place?” After a few minutes of silence, it was Yusuf Zuck who broke it by bringing up Jerome Hart.
“Jerome Hart?” Ruth Wilcox raised her eyebrows, “You guys just met and you’re this chummy?”
“Great minds think alike.
Mainly, we have a common language.
Don’t forget, I’m an unlicensed doctor!” Yusuf Zuck boasted.
“Blowing your own trumpet.
Then let this unlicensed doctor take a look at me.
Come on, see if I have any issues?” Ruth Wilcox held out her hand, actually inviting Yusuf Zuck to take her pulse and take advantage of her.
“You really want me to check?” Yusuf Zuck scratched his chin, pondering whether it was appropriate to get closer to the beautiful CEO.
“Stop talking nonsense.
If you can’t figure it out, just deduct it from my salary, okay?” Ruth Wilcox said proudly.
Surprisingly, the company’s Ice Mountain Goddess, the fierce lady boss, also had a playful girlish side, and this playful side was only shown to Yusuf Zuck.
The two seemed to have progressed from a strictly employer-employee relationship to something more akin to friends.
“Deduct it then.
I still have to treat you even if you deduct my whole month’s salary!” Yusuf Zuck, the shameless one, grabbed Ruth Wilcox’s hand while speaking.
This was the first time he had touched her hand; it was soft and smooth, feeling extremely nice to the touch!
At his touch, Ruth Wilcox froze as if she had been electrocuted, her face instantly flushed, turning apple-red.
Yusuf Zuck, ever cautious in his actions, stopped at just the right moment.
Before Ruth Wilcox had the chance to react, his fingers were already on her wrist, taking her pulse.
Ruth Wilcox looked away, not daring to look at Yusuf Zuck, and hummed, “If you can’t tell, one month’s salary.
Someone better weigh their options!”
In her words, Yusuf Zuck had become “someone” – she had referred to Yusuf Zuck as “someone” several times!
