"Hmm?" Back at the academy, there was something that surprised the two of them.

"Dad was attacked as well? Near the capital at that?" I was talking with my mother back home through their unique communication device.

Even though it wasn't usually possible to contact people on the ground through personal means from the island, they had developed their own secret channels that the others did not know about.

They were talking about things right now. It was unusual but there were many things that even I had wanted to ask mother about.

Things about their business, things that I had recently gotten the information about.

She had gotten the reports from her people while I had obtained the information about the happenings around the world from the information guild.

From the information that I had obtained recently, I knew there were things around them that did not make much sense.

The appearance of dangerous creatures on paths that were secured by the association and the nations. The presence of strange phenomena in places that have never seen such things.

There were reports that many of these things were connected to the evil cultists that they had been chasing, but the fact that they were still not sure about this concerned them even more.

Academy had just started so there was a lot that we needed to do. Not just the matters regarding the council but now that the presidents were going, we had to give them a proper send off.

We needed to prepare for that, we needed to talk with the headmaster deeply as well. We had to look after the houses and the competitions.

We had to look after a lot of things so, even though I wanted to pay attention to these happenings, I cannot look after them personally.

"If you want, Mom, I will send Miss Moon over there. She will help you with things-."

Since the attack was happening to the empire and the other nations as well, the national powers could not just sit back and watch.

It was understandable that the empire was making a move already, but if the other nations around the world were moving as well, then it was obvious just how complicated this situation actually was.

"If you say so, mom. I'll take care of things here so you don't have to work all by yourself. If you have any work you want me to take care of, don't hesitate and tell me.

Even though we are busy here, I will help you however I can.

Her voice when she said it contained her sadness. She did not like how I was asking her to lean on me when I should have been the one being supported by her.

There was nothing I could do in the matters regarding the divinities. There was nothing I could do in the official matters of the states.

I was merely the student council president as well so there wasn't much I could directly get involved in.

The powerlessness I feel from time to time isn't pleasant to me. It always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when I think about how there's so much more that I can do to achieve my goals and help others better.

But I'm still not strong enough. If I were to fight that Naga warrior from the Naga dungeon, I would still lose.

Even though that creature was a simple extension of the power that a high ego possessing a fragment of divinity had, I was still not good enough to defeat that being.

It hasn't been long since I started understanding the powers that I possess. There is so much to the powers of my stigma that I can't use yet, fighting a being like that one would still pose a great challenge to us in this state.

Mom could tell what was going on in my mind just from looking at my face on the communication device.

That caring smile of hers was enough for me to know how she was doing over there as well.
