Kingdom Simulator: I, a Fallen Noble, Build a God-Level Kingdom!-Chapter 32: The Golden Chain Tying the Dog
Chapter 32: Chapter 32: The Golden Chain Tying the Dog
The sky had just begun to lighten.
Romon stepped out of the castle, originally intending to meet with Talia to discuss the "Taming" spell.
But as soon as Talia saw him, she began to relay the task from yesterday.
"Lord Romon, I have a friend from Stone Town who wants to settle in your Thune territory!"
Yesterday, Romon had asked her to work on a specific task, and she had done it without hesitation.
"Very well. What does she do? I'll grant some special privileges as promised."
"She's my best friend. She used to work on a ranch near Stone Town."
"A ranch? That's convenient. I'll free up some land in a few days."
Once the bloodthirsty wolf pack was completely tamed, the vast plains would be cleared, and they'd be in need of some farmers and shepherds.
Romon's original intention in asking Talia to recruit was to bring more muscle to Thune territory.
However, it was clear that after the Nightingale Lord declared war, any mercenaries with some power would understand the difference in strength between both sides.
They wouldn't easily agree to settle in Thune territory, but those willing to do so at this point were clearly very close to Talia.
Though she was just a shepherd, treating Talia's best friend well would, in turn, strengthen Talia's loyalty.
"Does she have a place to stay for the next few days?"
"I've already arranged everything."
"Good." Romon raised his left hand, adorned with the Dark Golden Gauntlet, and a thick magical tome appeared in his hand. "Today, I'm going to continue exploring the magic inside this book. You'll assist me. I need to find a spell for taming beasts."
Upon hearing this.
Talia immediately adopted a professional attitude. Whenever Romon brought up such matters, her main task was always to refine the magic crystal ores.
After all, every time he explored magic, his mana consumption was incredibly fast, almost like a balloon losing air.
From sunrise to sunset.
By the afternoon.
Romon had successfully drawn a highly intricate magical formula in the book.
From a distance, the magical pattern resembled a spiked collar. But just the outline wouldn't constitute magic. The secrets were hidden in the fine details of the intricate design.
It was both a mana-draining and patience-draining process. Romon felt like a porter, only able to remember a small part at a time, painstakingly transcribing it bit by bit. Any mistake, even the slightest, meant starting over from scratch.
"Faster than planned. It's only afternoon."
Romon left the room and gazed at the setting sun.
At this time, most people would be done for the day, but Romon didn't intend to rest just yet.
"Talia, we're going to the Great Plains."
"Lord Romon? It's almost dark, and if we go now, we'll be facing fierce beasts hunting at night."
"That's exactly what I want."

Without special abilities, human vision at night is severely limited, but Romon had a way to circumvent this limitation.
Even without consuming simulation turns, he could observe the movements within his territory through the simulator's blueprint.
For example, where the wolf packs were active and their distances from each other.
As long as Talia threw an Orbital Magic spell to draw the alpha wolf's attention, Romon would be able to cast the "Taming" spell.
To target the alpha wolf, he had transcribed the first "Taming" spell formula, then proceeded to draw two more.
A total of three chances for "taming"!
With the simulator as a guide, he wasn't planning to practice on small creatures but to go straight for the alpha wolf.
"Then, I'll prepare some magic crystals." Talia, as a bodyguard, only needed to be reminded once; she knew her place. If the lord insisted on going, then it was her duty to follow.
"Take mine," Romon said.
To assist Romon in exploring the "Taming" spell, Talia had refined many magic crystals today, leaving just a small pile unused.
By the rules, these crystals were considered public property, and she couldn't use them for personal purposes.
However, since Romon had spoken, Talia gave a shy smile and stepped forward, placing the small pile of magic crystals into her large pouch.
"Let's go, Lord Romon."
...
They passed through the dense forest, and by the time they reached the Great Plains, the sun had already set.
Looking out over the flat expanse of the wilderness, it was shrouded in a foggy darkness.
Additionally.
Due to years of abandonment, there wasn't even a proper road here. Anyone who ventured in would find themselves swallowed by the tall grass up to their knees.
Navigating this environment was extremely dangerous. Large magical beasts were one thing, but the real danger lay in the venomous snakes and insects that could be hidden beneath the grass.
"Follow me."
Romon spoke, then raised his left hand, pulling out the magic book and casting the "Flight" spell. This was a spell he had transcribed previously and had just re-cast for this occasion.
Talia herself could use a simpler flight spell to hover in the air.
The two of them ascended, with Romon using the simulator's blueprint to adjust their direction as they flew toward the moving bloodthirsty wolf pack.
They were positioned roughly in the center of the Great Plains, clearly the dominant force in the area.
Half an hour later, the sky had grown completely dark.
The stars twinkled above, but the moonlight was dim, unable to illuminate the black expanse of the plains.
Romon checked the map and suddenly halted in mid-air, extending his left hand to signal a stop.
Talia, following closely behind, immediately stopped as well, gripping her silver staff tightly.
"Lord Romon, there's the scent of bloodthirsty wolves nearby." Even though Talia hadn't yet seen the bloodthirsty wolves, she could already smell their presence.
Her experience spoke for itself.
"Talia, 200 meters ahead. Use Orbital Magic," Romon commanded decisively.
Under the starlight, the wild grasses of the plains swayed gently in the breeze, but there was one patch ahead that remained still.
At first glance, it might have seemed like a large rock, but a quick check of the simulator's blueprint revealed that it was actually a bloodthirsty wolf lying low.
Talia, acting without hesitation, raised her silver staff and, without even needing to chant, unleashed a beam of white light straight into the sky.
The white light was brighter than the stars, faintly illuminating the area below and exposing their position.
But soon, it didn't matter whether they were exposed. A far more blinding white light descended from the sky, as if a second sun were crashing toward the earth!
The dark sky and earth were connected by a blinding beam of white light.
The brightness from the beam illuminated the area 200 meters ahead.
In an instant, one bloodthirsty wolf was reduced to a pile of charred remains, while several others around it were blasted away by the shockwave. The intense heat burned half of their bodies to a bloody, mangled mess.
Immediately.
Agonized howls echoed throughout the dark night.
Romon quickly spotted, through the simulator's blueprint, a creature far larger than the average bloodthirsty wolf. It leapt out from the center of the pack.
Its eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty murderous intent. Its muscular limbs churned, and with every step, its claws tore up the earth beneath it.
Romon's gaze fixed firmly on it. That was the one—the Alpha Wolf!
"Talia, engage in combat! Keep the Alpha Wolf distracted!" Romon commanded, then immediately distanced himself from her.
He needed Talia to keep the Alpha Wolf occupied while he cast the "Taming" spell. If they stood together, they would both be attacked by the Alpha Wolf, and he wouldn't have enough time to cast a perfect "Taming" spell.
Talia was alarmed. She could feel the murderous intent locked onto her. The Alpha Wolf was far stronger than the others, and she knew that defeating it alone would be nearly impossible.
The Alpha Wolf's thick hide and muscular build meant she couldn't treat it like she did the last time, when she used rapid-fire magic to deal with a thief. Even if the wolf endured the spell, it wouldn't be fatal; instead, it would pounce on her.
So, the only option was Orbital Magic!
Her left hand reached into her pocket, pulling out three magic crystals and placing them in her mouth, ready to consume them at any moment.
Meanwhile, her right hand gripped the silver staff, and she quickly cast ten rapid-fire spells, using the light to scout the area.
When she detected a large, fast-moving shadow, she immediately aimed at her current position and released the Orbital Magic!
A beam of white light shot up into the sky once more.
Not far off.
Romon saw the Alpha Wolf under the illumination of the white light. Its mane, as black as iron, shimmered. With a single leap, it covered fifty meters in an instant!
It seemed to understand the power of Orbital Magic. Seeing the terrifying white light descending toward it, the Alpha Wolf swiftly twisted its body and forcefully dropped to the ground, avoiding the strike.
Its massive body carried tremendous inertia as it hurtled toward the ground.
Romon, quick as lightning, saw the wolf rolling on the ground and immediately cast the "Taming" spell.
The magic transformed into a golden chain that shot from Romon's right hand, instantly wrapping around the Alpha Wolf's neck.
