HJ Entertainment, Seungmin's Agency.
The mood inside HJ Entertainment was in full bliss.
Champagne bottles popped in a private lounge on the agency's very top floor. Staff members congratulated each other, and Seungmin's manager was busy juggling phone calls from media outlets, sponsors, and brands who were congratulating Seungmin for his role.
Seungmin sat quietly on the black leather couch., There was a rare smile tugging at his lips as he scrolled through the headlines on his phone. He wasn't the type to get overly excited about things, but he couldn't help it right now.
Seungmin has been waiting to land a role on one of Hwarang Studio's drama, and it's already coming to him.
"Congratulations, Seungmin." Director Yoo, the head of PR of their agency, walked in with a glass of wine. "We just got confirmation that the post has passed half a million shares in under five hours. That's record-breaking for a drama lead announcement."
Seungmin gave a small nod, his voice calm but sincere. "Thank you, Director. I just hope that I don't disappoint them."
"You? Disappoint? Please. You are Seungmin." Seungmin's manager laughed on the side.
There was a buzz of excitement going around. The staff were chatting with each other, finally having a break after a long and tiring day.
"Let's cheer on your success, Seungmin."
"Sure, Director."
Director Yoo raised his glass in a subtle toast, and so did Seungmin. The sound of their glass clinking to each other made a small sound against the loud noise in the private lounge.
The private lounge at HJ Entertainment felt like a whole new floor from the rest of the building.
The lights inside were warm, not harsh and bright like the ones in the office floors below. Golden chandeliers also hung above, casting a soft glow over everything.
Aside from that, plush navy curtains framed the glass panels that surrounded the whole floor, overlooking the city view.
A long marble table stretched across the center of the room. It was covered with glasses of champagne, sparkling water, soju, and neatly arranged trays of Korean food that were easy to eat.
It was a whole party that the CEO of the agency initiated himself to celebrate Seungmin's success.
"Because of this, I'm sure your success will continue to grow. Who knows, and one day, maybe you can be the highest paid actor in our country." Director Yoo uttered with a smile on his face.
"Well, I hope so too." Seungmin chuckled as he took a sip of his drink. The warmth of the wine felt familiar in his mouth.
But even with all the celebration in the air, his mind was something else.
Seunmgin turned toward his manager, who was typing away on his tablet while balancing two phones.
"Hyung," Seungmin said, setting his drink down. "Do we have the schedule for the shoot yet?"
His manager glanced up from the screen, blinking once before tapping rapidly on the tablet.
"Ah, yes. I actually got the preliminary timeline from Hwarang an hour ago."
"Here is it." He pulled up the calendar and walked over to show it to Seungmin.
"They're looking to start shooting in the second week of February. Around the 12th. Initial script reading on the 5th, wardrobe fitting and rehearsals just before that. The schedule is pretty packed."
Seungmin's brows furrowed lightly. He leaned in, scanning the dates on the table. However, he just realized something when he was reading it.
"Wait... February?" he repeated.
"Yeah," The manager nodded, still scrolling. "That's what they sent. Why? Is there a problem?"
"That's... the same week when my drama "Twilight Chronicles" will star, isn't it?"
There was a brief pause among Seungmin and his manager
"Ah, sh—" Seungmin's manager stopped himself mid-word from cursing and sighed He run a hand through his hair. freewebnøvel.com
"You're right. I forgot that they moved that shoot to next month because of the location change?"
"Yeah. And I can't pull out. That drama's been in the works for months." Seungmin nodded slowly.
The manager groaned under his breath and quickly began opening his inbox.
"Okay, okay. Let me think. Maybe we can negotiate the schedule. I'll see if we can move back the start date for The Last Heir."
"You think Hwarang would agree to that?" Seungmin looked up at him with a curious gaze.
"I don't know yet," the manager admitted. "But since it's still months away, then maybe. They'll at least listen. I'll reach out to both sides first thing in the morning. I'll try my best to work it out."
Seungmin leaned back on the couch, silent for a moment. He rubbed his thumb against his jaw thoughtfully.
"I really don't want to disappoint either team," he said finally, his voice quieter now. "Both of these dramas matter to me."
"I know. But you don't have to choose. Not yet. Let me handle it first, alright?" His manager nodded with understanding.
Seungmin looked at him before nodding.
"Alright. Thanks, hyung."
