"Gaoo, gaooo,"

*nudge nudge*

{'Prize brodder prize?'} While the three of them were lying down in just about the only spot free of gore in the cavern, Glacia used her head to bump Aoni's shoulder several times, making him laugh and reach over to pet her.

"Yes, yes, you won, so you get a prize; you need to think extra hard about what you want, though, because this is a special prize."

"OoO gaoo,"

{'Think, mhm, think.'} bobbing her head and enjoying the pats, Glacia laid back down and scrunched up her face while making her tiny brain work overtime.

There were simply too many good things she could get: foods, toys, playtime, and extra fun bathtime. That's right, after experiencing Fun Bathtime, she no longer considered it her mortal enemy. Instead, it was something to look forward to, thanks to the overstimulation presented by Aoni.

After all, it's hard for a kid to ignore something as entertaining as special toys and sing-alongs.

---

Having spent a little over an hour resting, Aoni corralled his summons into work mode, and the clean-up operation began. It was tedious and frankly disgusting, but after establishing a chain of custody, things were moving smoothly.

Glacia's job was to pile up bodies so that Aoni could work through each corpse and collect materials before making a secondary stack. Then it was up to Nyria to transfer all the processed waste into a small storage item, and bring them to the surface for disposal.

Being the most time-consuming of their tasks, it took Aoni and his Summons well into lunchtime before they could begin working on the dismal state of the cavern.

To be honest, this was the part Aoni was avoiding the most because, unlike Terra, where he could just get a hose or pressure washer, cleaning up tons of blood and to put it lightly, fecal matter was no easy job.

Thankfully, he had a method that, although mentally draining and complicated, seemed to work rather well, and that was to churn up the ambient Energia in the air into a reversed cyclone.

It was a process that required the synchronization of Lad and summons, but once they got the hang of it. Aoni steered them in the right direction; the joint manifestation they'd created turned out to be just BARELY strong enough to pull in the blood like a vacuum so that it could be stored inside a storage box.

However, what Aoni didn't realize was that what he'd done wasn't nearly as simple as stirring up the Energia; instead, it was something far more complicated. If any experienced traveler had seen what was happening, they'd have been screaming about him being either a Monster or a Genius.

Setting aside the difficulty of a combo technique between Summon and Lord, which in and of itself was beyond difficult for new Travelers, they'd somehow come up with a means of drawing in, transforming, and controlling a form of Icy-Wind to generate enough suction that items weighing less than two pounds could be effortlessly lifted off the ground.

But to Aoni, all he was doing was reversing the theory he'd come up with for Ice-Breath, creating a suction effect instead of expulsion.

Naturally, it was Glacia who seemed to catch on the quickest, with Aoni and Nyria coming to a close second place, yet with all three of them working in tandem, "Vacuuming," the cavern went quickly. Soon enough, even the broken rocks, leftover bug buildings, and all the gore were cleaned, leaving only a stench that would dissipate over time.

---

"Okay, that's the hard part done, or at least one of the hard parts," Aoni readjusted his statement near the end, motioning for his floof and birb to follow before making his way over to the frozen lake.

'Even if I seal off all the other entrances, the fact that they were coming from below isn't a good sign; I need to get down there, find out where they are originally coming from, and get rid of the problem at its source…the only issue is, I have zero clue how deep the aquifer goes, nor how long it spans.'

Stepping out onto the ice and walking across the lake to its approximate center, or at the very least, where Nyria's attack had landed, Aoni stopped and looked down into the ice as if trying to see through the cloudy depths.

"As I mentioned earlier, apart from the tunnels we have discovered, the bugs are somehow entering from a location underwater; this is why I had Nyria freeze it at the start of the battle." Turning his head and addressing both summonses, Aoni continued explaining.

"So even if we shut off all the tunnels, they can still come into our cavern through the lake; this is where things are going to get a bit difficult." Waving his hand to open up his inventory, Aoni retrieved yet another item gifted to him by his parents.

BANG

With a loud sound, a massive spool of braided nylon rope larger than Aoni appeared beside him.

"Here's the plan: I am going to tie one end of this rope around my waist," he said, as he went ahead and began unspooling the industrial-sized 1000-foot stack of rope, setting it up in such a way that it was easy to unspool if he was moving.

"Then, one of you two will have to stand on watch, holding it tightly with both hands and watching for any movement; if I get in trouble, I will jerk it as hard as I can, like this…"

Picking up one end, Aoni motioned for Glacia to come closer and gave her some of the slack then demonstrated what he meant.

"OOOoooooOOoooo!"

{'Wowowowowow, what is what dis, so bouncy!'}

'Okay, maybe it a bad idea showing this shit off to her so early; I bet by the time I am done using it, I'll have to make her something out of rope as a toy,' shaking his head, Aoni booped Glacia on the nose and told her to focus.

"Now, like I was saying, when I tug on it, that is the signal to pull with all you've got; remember, once I get past the ice, I'll be swimming in open water, and without any way of knowing how deep it goes, if I run out of air I could drown and DIE, so you need to be carefully paying attention."

Hearing that the plan could end up with Aoni's death, all the excitement vanished instantly from Glacia and Nyria's faces, and the floof gave an uncharacteristically solemn nod of understanding.
