A house.Tatsuro had once imagined marrying Ai and building a house, living a happy home life with children and his beloved...But he could never have imagined before comin

A house.

Tatsuro had once imagined marrying Ai and building a house, living a happy home life with children and his beloved...

But he could never have imagined before coming here that he would build it with his own hands rather than having carpenters do it.

With such feelings secretly in his heart, Tatsuro was discussing with Ai and Leah about what kind of house would be good.

At first, they had asked Cardina and others too, but these children clearly stated that the best house would be one where Tatsuro and the others could live comfortably, and it seemed unlikely they would get any more constructive opinions beyond that.

"Let's build a huge mansion!" (Ai)

"That would be nice, but where would we put it? Even though the capacity limit is gone, it would be troublesome if we can't place it anywhere when we need to use it because it's too big." (Tatsuro)

"I see. But while that might be true in the original world, in this world we could probably afford such a lifestyle financially. It's a bit of a shame." (Ai)

"If we're going to use it in dungeons too, it might indeed be difficult to place if it's too big, so wouldn't it be good to make several in different sizes like large, medium, and small?" (Leah)

"Hmm... I thought about that too, but what if we made everything completely separate instead?" (Tatsuro)

"Huh?" (Ai)

"What do you mean?" (Leah)

"Well..." (Tatsuro)

Tatsuro began explaining his newly conceived house image to Ai, who tilted her head, and Leah, who had asked for clarification.

First, making everything separate meant creating each room - Tatsuro and Ai's bedroom, Leah's bedroom, living room, and their respective private rooms and bathrooms - as uniform box-shaped units, all made as one house.

Moreover, these would be designed to connect horizontally and vertically like Lego blocks.

This way, they could assemble only the necessary rooms according to available space when needed. That was the concept. freёwebnoѵel.com

"That's what I was thinking of building, what do you think?" (Tatsuro)

"Sounds interesting!" (Ai)

"A house that can change shape according to the terrain? Indeed, as Ai-san says, it sounds interesting!" (Leah)

"Alright then, let's start thinking in that direction." (Tatsuro)

"Yeah!" (Ai)

"Yes!" (Leah)

Now that they had decided on the direction, Tatsuro would create small iron models to visualize the overall image.

The current concern was how to connect the rooms.

Just stacking them on top wouldn't work - they could shift or fall from strong winds, large monsters, or even if someone's attack slightly hit them.

Furthermore, if they completely isolated the rooms, they would need to go outside and enter through each room's entrance every time they wanted to move between rooms.

If possible, they wanted to connect them through doors.

So for now, they tried adding protrusions and indentations like Lego blocks as mentioned earlier.

However, to support the weight of a house, the protrusions and indentations would need to be quite deep, and while the protruding side would be fine, the indented side would have problematic projections inside.

"Then how about using walls to connect the rooms?" (Ai)

"Walls, huh. If we make just the room frames and attach walls between them to connect..." (Leah)

"Ah, that might work smoothly." (Tatsuro)

Tatsuro prepared a floorboard and twelve hollow square pillars for the miniature, first creating a cube with these pillars.

Next, he made walls and attached four solid pillars slightly thinner than the frame pillars, then inserted them perfectly into the hollow side pillars.

Then by attaching another room made the same way on the opposite side, they created two rooms connected by a single wall.

"This way we can make different shaped walls and connect them in various ways." (Tatsuro)

"But what about when we stack them? Having stairs inside rooms is fine, but won't they get in the way when we connect rooms horizontally?" (Ai)

"Then what if we create a narrow vertical space just for going up? Maybe we could make something like an elevator from an apartment building?" (Tatsuro)

"What is an 'elevator'?" (Leah)

Since Leah hadn't heard of one, Tatsuro explained his rough understanding of how an elevator works using the model. She seemed to grasp the concept well.

"A device that raises and lowers a human-sized box using pulleys? But that would limit the height we can install it at. While we could adjust it, changing the pulley length and device height every time would be troublesome. It might be better to make a mechanism that pushes the box up from below instead." (Tatsuro)

So Leah proposed a mechanism to push the box up from below.

While this would fix the maximum height it could reach, Leah said she might be able to make it work up to about ten floors, seeming to have something in mind.

So they left that to Leah and moved on to selecting building materials.

This time, they wanted to make it as sturdy as possible.

So they had been sending samples of all stone materials, metals, monster materials, gems, etc. from Tatsuro's [Infinite Item Field] to Leah [Item Box], having her examine them while they were breaking them down.

"After examining various materials, I think the strongest and most durable building material would be a composite made from the stone materials we got, the red part from the head and the green part from the pelvis area of that metal armor monster that Jeanne defeated, along with some iron and Phoebus steel." (Leah)

"Is that so? But you can't just mix them randomly, right?" (Tatsuro)

"Yes. So I wrote down the ratios and order of combination on this paper." (Leah)

"Wow. That's detailed... Well, I'm just sticking to Tatsuro for the title effect." (Ai)

When Ai stretched her neck to look at the paper handed to Tatsuro, she saw very detailed ratios and orders listed and resigned herself to the fact that this would be hard work.

"If we enhance it further with dark magic, what proportions do you think would be best for hardness and lightness?" (Tatsuro)

"That... we'll have to see." (Leah)

"I see. Then let's start making the building materials." (Tatsuro)

So Tatsuro first used 2 of his current 4 points of replication gained from expanding his [Item Box] to copy two of the metal armor monster's corpses.

Then using the component extraction also gained from the expansion, he extracted all the red and green metal parts from the copied corpses, thoroughly drawing out even the parts mixed with other metals.

Then he arranged the materials in order according to Leah's memo to make them easier to mix.

"Alright, preparations are complete. Ai, stick close to me." (Tatsuro)

"Okay~ *hugs*" (Ai)

"Fufu. You two are as close as ever." (Leah)

Leah smiled warmly at Ai, who was hugging Tatsuro from behind with her arms around his stomach in contentment, then changed to blue-colored eyes to check for any mistakes.

After taking breaks, they spent a whole day adjusting hardness and weight with dark magic and making large amounts of building materials before finally starting to build the house.

Since the house isn't equipment, they could make it all with magic.

So they left that to Tatsuro and Ai, while Leah was doing something else with Nana's help.

Amazingly, she had analyzed the tools given in the dungeon and was working on making magical tools using return stones with that technology.

This wouldn't violate the country's laws since there was no need to process magic stones independently. Well, even if it did, using it personally as magic liquid probably wouldn't be discovered easily...

So Tatsuro and Ai worked on building the house, while Leah made tools.

They spent seven days installing those tools in all rooms and making elevators.

Finally, it was complete.

"It took longer than expected." (Ai)

"Yeah, I didn't expect Leah would be able to make so many different things, so we got carried away with the installations too." (Tatsuro)

"But because of that, we made something really good." (Leah)

"It's magnificent~" (Ai)

Currently, they were using the [Item Box] function to assemble the living room, Tatsuro, and Ai's room, Cardina and others' rooms, and Leah's room inside the church, experimenting with how strange of a shape they could make.

The current shape was a stretched V-shape horizontally.

Even with such an unstable assembly, it passed both Tatsuro and Cardina's anti-magic and Leah's eyes in terms of earthquake and impact resistance, resulting in a satisfactory creation.

"Alright. Let's check the inside too." (Tatsuro)

"Oh~" (Ai)

So first they entered the living room, which was currently the starting point for all private rooms.

Opening the door revealed a large round table made of fine stone material in lapis lazuli color with several chairs placed around it in the center.

Among those chairs were specially designed ones: crouching and standing positions for Cardina, a chair designed for [Child Form] Jeanne to sit comfortably with her bottom flat, and small chairs specifically for Nana and Leah- each designed to fit their respective forms.

Tatsuro had made this hoping everyone could gather around it for meetings, chatting, and meals.

The table and chairs were properly decorated, with Leah using blacksmith's engraving tools to add light designs since Tatsuro and Ai lacked artistic talent.

Though "light" by her standards would probably be considered excellent by general standards.

In the right corner of the room was a kitchen with blue stone counters and a sink.

Furthermore, there were two water taps installed that could produce both cold and hot water, powered by return stones that Leah had perfectly analyzed from dungeon items and made simple copies of with available materials.

It was fully equipped with stone dishes and cup shelves, as well as shelves for seasonings and cooking tools.

Additionally, there were three stoves powered by copied return stones that Leah had made.

This would make cooking much more convenient.

Moreover, this kitchen room could be detached from this room, making it possible to take out just this part using the [Infinite Item Field]. This would make cooking even more convenient.

They would also like to add sofas and carpets.

But that was impossible to prepare right away, so it remained rather bare for now. That would have to wait for the future.

By the way, not just here but all rooms had lights installed in the ceiling.

The bones of the demon species monster that Nana defeated served as the main raw material for this world's equivalent of light bulbs, and by mixing powder from the first shells they obtained along with several other materials gotten from monsters, they created a material that glows in response to magical power.

Leah converted power from return stones into magical power, and since the white metal from the metal armor monster's left arm had extremely high magical conductivity, they stretched it thin like an electrical wire and ran it through the walls of the rooms.

By connecting these wires to the stone-like material that glows with magical power, they made a system where lights could be turned on with a switch.

After finishing their inspection of the living room, they headed to the bathroom located in the upper right.

To get there, they naturally needed to go up, and this is where Leah's developed elevator came in.

This again made use of materials from the metal armor monster that Jeanne defeated.

The blue and purple metal parts from the right and left legs had a property where they repelled each other like the same poles of magnets when magical power was passed through them.

Moreover, this repulsive force grew stronger with the amount of magical power applied.

Using this property, they stacked several thin, hard, and light iron plates that Tatsuro had modified with dark magic in an alternating pattern.

Then using about a hundred return stones as power sources to generate magical power, they created an elevator that could lift a metal box big enough for several people by gradually increasing and decreasing the flow of magical power. Incidentally, by adjusting the shape of the box containing this elevator, it could be modified to move diagonally or horizontally. Moreover, these adjustments could be made simply through the decomposition and combination functions of the [Infinite Item Field], so it wasn't too troublesome.

So they got into that elevator and pressed the △ button for going up among the two △▽ buttons, and power from the return stones was transmitted through the highly conductive metal wires, gradually starting to flow magical power.

Then Tatsuro and the others rose to the floor above almost without any shaking, very comfortably.

"So easy! Everyone should have this~" (Athena)

"Don't say unreasonable things. The metal used in this is probably quite rare." (Nana)

"So other places can't really prepare it, huh. Come to think of it, that monster really had good materials. Thanks, Jeanne." (Tatsuro)

"Neigh♪" (Jeanne)

When Tatsuro patted the head of [Child Form] Jeanne beside him, she happily neighed and snuggled up to him. He responded while getting off the elevator and entering the bathroom.

First was the changing room.

They all crowded into the space that could comfortably fit about two people and opened the sliding door ahead.

Beyond it was a bathroom made of pure white stone material, complete with devices that produced cold and hot water at the flip of a switch.

They even installed a shower, making it quite similar to the interior of their original world.

Ai approached the shower and carefully pressed the hot water button without getting wet, and hot water immediately poured from the shower head with its many small holes.

"A shower! You really need this kind of thing too, not just a bath~" (Ai)

"Yeah. And since we made a small room just for showering, even when there's no time for a bath, we can quickly take a shower now. This wouldn't have been possible if Leah hadn't copied that item." (Tatsuro)

"It's still not as high-performance as that one though. The energy efficiency and output are on a completely different level over there." (Ai)

"Yeah... But that's practically a weapon. For everyday life use like this, this level is fine." (Tatsuro)

When they had tested the dungeon-given items that produced water, hot water, and fire at maximum output in an empty area, the water shot out stronger than a fire truck's hose, the hot water erupted like a geyser with intense heat, and the fire was more powerful than any flamethrower.

So as weapons and research materials, they were now stored in Leah [Item Box].

"That's true. But I want to try reproducing that return stone's energy efficiency more!" (Ai)

"Yeah. But those return stones are overflowing from that bag now because I increased the speed too much in the [Infinite Item Field]... So we can use as many as we want now." (Tatsuro)

"How many are there now?" (Ai)

"Last I checked, it was over a hundred million." (Tatsuro)

"At this rate, you could open a return stone shop." (Ai)

Tatsuro had left the bag that generates two return stones per day in the [Infinite Item Field] with time accelerated, and they had multiplied at a rate that made him want to compare it to a computer virus filling up a hard drive. Now they had enough to build a giant return stone tower.

"Well, we're not struggling with money right now, so we can use them like batteries." (Tatsuro)

After stopping the shower and finishing the bathtub operation check, they left that room.

They continued checking each room, jumping and bouncing around in the top room to verify the strength in practice, and finally went outside and stored everything back in the [Infinite Item Field].

"Now that we've achieved our initial goal of making a house, shall we get back to clearing?" (Tatsuro)

"Yeah~ We've been here for many days now." (Ai)

So Tatsuro and the others decided to spend one more relaxing day here before returning to their clearing activities.
