Life Simulation: I Caused the Female Sword Immortal to Regret Forever-Chapter 379: Master, Please Listen to My Excuse:
Was it a dream?
Of course not.
Last night, Xu Xi had witnessed everything with his own eyes and stopped the commotion. However, since it was already dark, he decided to wait until morning before questioning anyone.
In Yanshan City, in the courtyard living room, Xu Xi sat facing the five well-behaved Supremes who had just gotten up, listening to their explanations.
"Krisha, Yingxue, Ailei, Sylvia." Xu Xi called their names, his gaze calm. "You're telling me that you mistook the situation and thought I was being kidnapped, so you acted to rescue me?"
"Yes, Master," Wu Yingxue blinked her eyes with an innocent expression, looking as if she fully believed her own story whether he did or not.
Summing it all up, last night’s incident could be described as the four Supremes heroically saving Xu Xi while his little sister sacrificed herself to protect him. In short, nobody was in the wrong.
"Master, please listen to my excuse... cough, I mean, explanation," Wu Yingxue said, sitting on the living room sofa, nervously pressing her index fingers together as she laughed awkwardly. "Last night really was just an accident. You know me, Master, I’m such a quiet person. How could I possibly act without a reason~~"
"So that's really what happened?" Xu Xi's eyes swept over the others.
"Yes, yes!" Everyone nodded at once.
Xu Xi reluctantly accepted their excuse, but to give a warning, he curled his fingers and gave each of them a loud forehead flick.
"In the future, no more of this nonsense, understand?"
"I understand, Brother..."
"Yes, Master."
The girls answered very obediently. Thus, the farce of last night officially came to an end.
The courtyard, which had been silent for two months, regained its lively atmosphere. The Supremes who had vanished into the chaos had finally descended back to Earth.
To be careful, Xu Xi confirmed one last detail. "Krisha, you are all here with your true bodies, right?"
"Yes, Master," Krisha replied, clutching her forehead where Xu Xi had flicked her earlier. Her gray-silver hair gleamed transparently under the sunlight as she explained that during these two months, they had worked hard to perfect Earth's laws, bringing it to the final stage of evolution so it could fully support the arrival of Supremes.
However, Earth's changes were ongoing. In the distant future, Earth would continue to expand and nurture new extraordinary life forms, eventually becoming an Upper Realm like the Immortal World once was.
"I see... When that day comes, it will surely be a magnificent sight," Xu Xi murmured, imagining the future, his heart filled with emotion.
The questioning ended there. Apart from the forehead flicks, Xu Xi had no other punishments in mind. The once-empty courtyard became lively again, and in fact, it felt even more real than before. It was a subtle but clear feeling. In the past, Xu Xi had never thought projections were fake, but after the girls’ real bodies descended, the difference was undeniable.
"This must be what they call psychological effect."
The golden autumn sunlight warmed the courtyard. Xu Xi led Sylvia toward his bedroom, planning to have a private conversation with her.
After such a long-awaited reunion, he had many things he wanted to ask, such as the aftermath of the Tower of Salvation, the destruction of the Endless Netherworld, and how Sylvia had been living.
"Come in, Sylvia," Xu Xi said.
"Yes, Master Sorcerer," Sylvia answered respectfully.
With her beautiful face, platinum long hair, and graceful bearing, Sylvia wore a white dress adorned with tiny green floral patterns, and a gold-embroidered iris flower at the neckline. She followed Xu Xi into the room, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"So this is Master Sorcerer's room?" she asked softly.
Upon entering, the first thing visible was a tall, unique wooden collection cabinet with five items placed neatly inside: a jar of candies, a wand, a paper flower, a numbered badge, and a magic item book.
Each item represented one of the Supremes. Even without trying, one could easily recognize who each item belonged to from the distinct aura lingering on them.
"How nostalgic..." Sylvia muttered, stepping up to the fifth compartment, gazing through the glass at the magic item book. For a brief moment, a wistful expression surfaced on her face. Her green eyes, clear like an emerald lake, reflected the image of the book.
"Sylvia, would you like to take it back?" Xu Xi asked.
"No need, Master Sorcerer. Let it stay here with you," Sylvia smiled.
Once, she had been lonely, shivering in the dark, clinging to the magic book he had given her. But now, with Xu Xi standing right in front of her, she had nothing left to fear.
Clack—Clack—
The brass gears inside the clock turned, and the hands chased after each other. As sunlight passed through the glass, dust floated in the air, and the threads of time gently overlapped. The minute hand caught up with the hour hand, shining warmly and brightly in the light.
"Master Sorcerer, it’s truly wonderful to meet you again." Sylvia had thought of many things to say, but in the end, all those words disappeared. Every emotion, every surge of feeling condensed into one soft, delicate radiance. Carefully, almost silently, she expressed her longing and happiness.
Her eyes curved with a shallow smile but also carried a hint of sadness, as if all her grievances and expectations had gathered into her jewel-like gaze.
"Sylvia, you’ve become a remarkable hero," Xu Xi said.
That face, interwoven with joy and sorrow, touched his heart. Xu Xi reached out gently, wiping away the tears at the corners of her eyes. They were not tears of weakness, but the crystallization of countless years of suffering, condensed into a fleeting moment of light. They were tears that even her parents could not understand, but Xu Xi could.
"Thank you for your praise, Master Sorcerer," Sylvia said softly. Xu Xi's affirmation made the light in her eyes even brighter. Because now, she had truly become a hero worthy of his acknowledgment, someone Xu Xi could be proud of.
The praise of others could never compare.
Tears, warm and bitter, flowed freely, telling all the joys and sorrows hidden in her heart. But she quickly controlled her emotions, not wanting to trouble Xu Xi.
"I’m sorry, Master Sorcerer, for causing you trouble the moment I returned."
"It’s alright, Sylvia," Xu Xi said.
He held the girl’s hand and guided her to sit in the chair. "You are not a trouble. You are the hero I recognize."
"Mm!" Sylvia responded with a firm nod, taking a deep breath to stabilize her emotions. She sat quietly and obediently, doing her best to present her best self to him.
Inside the bedroom, the warm light slanted softly. Xu Xi sat across from Sylvia and began asking her about what had happened after the fifth simulation.
"Sylvia, can you tell me how everyone has been after entering the Heluka world?"
"Of course, Master Sorcerer," Sylvia nodded with a gentle smile.
In a soft and delicate voice, she began recounting everything that had happened after the fifth simulation. How they had ventured into the Heluka world, battled the native inhabitants, helped the people from the Tower of Salvation hide and find peace, and how they had all lived through those days.
Sylvia spoke earnestly, sharing with Xu Xi every detail of the journey he had missed.
