Lord Yan, The Little Ancestor Has Fallen Off The Horse Again!-Chapter 313: Well Hidden
Chapter 313: Chapter 313: Well Hidden
"He just said he had something to do, and it was to pick up this woman?!"
This woman dressed plainly, her face hidden underneath a cap, with fair skin. She wore a black T-shirt and ultra-short shorts. So slender, with hardly any figure to speak of. How could she deserve Xiao Chen to speak to her with such tenderness?
"It’s fine, I’m not getting sunburnt," Yun Yue said indifferently, standing in a spot without sunlight.
Xiao Chen touched her hand, which felt pleasantly cool, and he held onto it, not wanting to let go, as if it were an ice pack.
Yun Yue lowered her gaze to his hand, her eyebrows raised slightly, allowing him to lead her along.
Xiao Chen carefully opened the car door for her then gently closed it.
Mo Lingwei went from astonishment to jealous rage, her eyes reddening as she pinched the flesh of her palm until it bled, all without feeling the pain, clenching her teeth tightly.
She watched the car vanish from her sight.
She watched as the car arrived, but it didn’t come for her.
She watched as the car left, but she was not the person inside.
What right did that woman have to sit in the passenger seat?
Mo Lingwei stood rooted to the spot until the clouds dispersed and the intense sunlight made her skin sting; that’s when she finally came to her senses and took a deep breath before leaving.
In the car, Xiao Chen turned on the air conditioning. Yun Yue leaned back, closed her eyes, and took a short nap.
Before long, her seat reclined, and Xiao Chen carefully adjusted the air vents and slowed down the car.
Twenty minutes later, the car drove into Shengting. He unbuckled his seatbelt but did not move, instead turning his face to look at the sleeping person next to him.
Her face was obscured by the black cap, and he just stared at her as if his gaze could penetrate through it.
Knowing she was a light sleeper, he didn’t dare remove her cap; he let her continue to sleep while he adjusted the seat’s position and replied to messages on his phone.
An hour later, Yun Yue opened her eyes, somewhat bewildered. She lifted the cap and realized she was still in the car.
"Awake?" came a deep, magnetic male voice from beside her, making the already cramped car feel even more constricted. The air, perhaps due to the windows being sealed, was laced with his scent.
She sat up, her eyelids drooping lazily, and grunted low in acknowledgment.
"Let’s go, it’s almost time for lunch." She unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the car door with a languid, carefree stride.
Xiao Chen chuckled softly and got out to follow her.
"Where’s Yun Yue?" Jiang Qi looked around but didn’t see her. Thinking of the silhouette he had seen downtown today, he fell into contemplation.
Feng Ye sat on the sofa leisurely eating ice cream, the coldness pleasant upon entry, "She had lunch and then Master Chen took her out, but it’s been almost an hour and a half. Why haven’t they returned?"
Feng Ye had no idea that Jiang Qi had gone for a full body checkup earlier that day and had come here both to confirm results and to see a psychologist.
Just as Yun Yue entered the door, her phone rang. She looked at the caller ID and asked lazily, "What’s up?"
Hearing her voice, Feng Ye immediately sat up straight while Jiang Qi, seeing Xiao Chen, lit up with excitement and ran over.
"Master Chen, please give me a consultation. Do I have a psychological issue? I’ve been having these hallucinations recently," Jiang Qi said, tears welling up inside.
"Are you here for me?" Yun Yue stood on the balcony, looking at the scenery below.
Jiang Wenshan’s smile narrowed to a slit, "Yes, the date has been set. I wanted to discuss the details and guest list with you."
Ruan Yingtong’s apprenticeship banquet had attracted nearly half of Beijing’s elite; Yun Yue’s ceremony could only be larger, not smaller.
"Sure, you’ve come at the right time, you can join us for lunch," Yun Yue agreed promptly and gave him an address.
Jiang Wenshan immediately instructed his assistant to prepare the car, and in half an hour, they arrived at Shengting.
"Master Chen, please, just take a look at me," Jiang Qi begged for half an hour but didn’t see the person in front of him relent.
Lin Xuanze looked oddly at Feng Ye, pointed at his head, and whispered, "Is Brother Qi’s brain not quite right? It’s as if he’s desperate to have an illness."
Brother Chen was a psychologist, and indeed, it seemed like he may have an issue.
The doorbell rang, and Jiang Qi, planning to curry favor with Xiao Chen, saw Yun Yue heading to answer it and immediately stood up, "I’ll go."
It was close to mealtime—who would be coming at this hour?
He carelessly opened the door, and there stood Jiang Wenshan, wearing an amiable smile. However, as soon as he saw Jiang Qi opening the door, the smile on his face instantly cooled.
"Grandpa?" Jiang Qi was flabbergasted. What was he doing here?
Jiang Wenshan didn’t show him any warmth. "Why are you here?"
Jiang Qi touched his nose. "I came for treatment."
Jiang Wenshan gave him a glance and walked straight in, while Jiang Qi remained standing in place, not moving.
His grandfather had been busy with the matter of taking on apprentices these past two days. Why would he have the leisure to come here for a visit?
Hearing the sound, Xiao Chen stood up, and upon seeing Jiang Wenshan enter from the vestibule, he nodded in greeting, "Elder Jiang, is there something you need?"
Jiang Wenshan glanced at Yun Yue, who was lazily curled up on the couch playing with her cell phone, and his smile grew a few shades warmer.
He sat down on the couch, chuckling, "There is indeed something. I’ve come to find my apprentice."
Feng Ye just got up and then plopped back onto the couch, staring at him in shock as if his ears were playing tricks on him.
Xiao Feng, holding a teacup, was so startled that his hand trembled, spilling quite a bit of the freshly boiled water onto the back of his hand. Fortunately, his skin was thick enough not to feel much pain.
Just as Jiang Wenshan was about to speak, seeing him wrapped in a cute apron, his eyes widened with disbelief. Was the prized member of the Xiao Family now reduced to the role of a cook?
Xiao Chen furrowed his brow and calmly sat down on the couch, casually asking, "Looking for your apprentice?"
Jiang Qi’s feet slipped under him. Who on earth could his grandfather possibly be looking for as his apprentice here?
It couldn’t be him, could it?
Even if he forced him to learn now, he wouldn’t be able to cope!
A foundation in art should be laid from a young age. He hadn’t painted for over a decade. Even with high talent, he had become indistinguishable from the rest.
"Grandpa, where’s your apprentice here?" Jiang Qi forced a laugh, already thinking about having Master Chen treat him first.
Jiang Wenshan held a teacup, and upon hearing his words, he snorted softly, thumping the teacup heavily on the table, "You think I came looking for you? Are you worthy?"
Jiang Qi: "..."
He turned his head to look at the nonchalant person and pointed at Yun Yue, "She is my apprentice."
"?!" Everyone’s gaze turned to her.
Jiang Qi and Feng Ye were both taken aback. Yun Xiaoyue?!
When did she become his apprentice?
Why didn’t they know?
Xiao Feng, holding a knife, shook a little, cutting his hand open. He washed it under the tap, his expression deep and void of emotion.
He was not as composed as he thought.
"Grandpa, are you sure there’s no mistake?" Jiang Qi’s eyes widened in disbelief. Miss Yun could paint?!
Jiang Wenshan scanned him with a look of disdain, "Or is it supposed to be you?"
Jiang Qi: "..."
Jiang Wenshan didn’t pay him any more mind and turned to Yun Yue, "Make a list of your relatives and friends; I’ll have the invitations printed."
Yun Yue put down her phone and sat up from the couch, "It’s already written, let me get it for you."
Xiao Chen had been silent on the side, but seeing Yun Yue go upstairs, he narrowed his eyes and casually said, "Elder Jiang, you’ve kept it quite hidden."
He had no idea she possessed such talent.
Jiang Wenshan laughed heartily, "Well, there was no other way. I’ve been waiting for over a decade; thankfully, it wasn’t in vain."
Jiang Qi fell into contemplation. It seemed he might have to thank her for escaping the grueling days of being forced to paint.
