Chapter 26: LIKE A SOAP OPERA

SOHEE didn’t expect to see Ahn Yujae at Cha Jinha’s apartment since Hong Sera’s intel said Cha Jinha lived alone.

But maybe he should have expected that.

After all, those two are close friends.

"What are you doing here, Sohee-ya?"

Sohee wanted to answer, but a loud voice coming from inside the apartment stopped him.

"Park Sohee is here?"

It only took a moment before Cha Jinha popped up behind Ahn Yujae. But since Ahn Yujae was taller, Cha Jinha actually had to tilt his head.

"Why are you here?"

Oho?

"A dongsaeng of mine has something to return to your friend, Cha Jinha," Sohee said, pulling a phone from his pocket. "Here."

It was the phone that Hong Sera "confiscated" from Cha Jinha’s friend.

Apparently, Hong Sera’s subordinates didn’t only track down Cha Jinha as the author of the bad articles about me— but they also discovered that the top comments mocking me belonged to Cha Jinha’s friends.

Since Hong Sera couldn’t find Cha Jinha, she confronted Cha Jinha’s friends.

And that was how Sera heard those bastards talk bad about me.

"Choi Sangwoo said he lost his phone," Cha Jinha said after snatching the phone from Sohee’s hand. He scanned it for a moment, checking to see whom the phone belonged to. "How come your friend has this?"

"Ah, you didn’t know?" Sohee asked casually while putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket. "Cha Jinha, your friends sold you out."

Sera actually bought the phone from Cha Jinha’s friends.

That was how Hong Sera had access to the phone.

"What are you talking about?" Cha Jinha asked, and it looked like this bastard was playing dumb because Ahn Yujae was there. "Get out of here if you’re just going to talk nonsense."

"I want to do that, but my husband insisted I should at least get an apology from you."

Cha Jinha looked shocked by what he said as if he wasn’t there when Kim Heedo announced that he was Sohee’s husband.

Or was he shocked because I was yapping in front of Yujae?

"So, the rumors were true," Ahn Yujae said in disbelief. "Sohee-ya, you’re really married to Kim Heedo? That famous Dominant Alpha from the Business Administration Department? I heard it from my classmates earlier."

Sohee raised an eyebrow. "Yujae-ah, you didn’t hear it from Cha Jinha?"

"From Cha Jinha?" Ahn Yujae asked, confused. "Why—"

"Park Sohee, shut your mouth," Cha Jinha said through gritted teeth, and then he grabbed Sohee by the arm. "If you want to talk, fine— let’s talk."

"Hey, let go, Cha Jinha," Sohee complained lightly. "You’re a Beta, but you’re bigger and stronger than me. Are you trying to break my arm?"

"Cha Jinha, what are you doing?" Ahn Yujae asked, annoyed. "Let go of Sohee."

Argh.

Sohee covered his nose with his hand.

Fortunately, Cha Yujae dropped his arm as soon as Ahn Yujae told him to.

Well, Ahn Yujae sounded scary just now.

And it was bad for Sohee.

Ahn Yujae was a bit angry, so his pheromones leaked— and an angry Alpha’s pheromones would always smell bad, especially to an Omega.

Maybe it’s a bad idea to provoke Cha Jinha in front of Ahn Yujae.

"What is happening here?" Ahn Yujae asked sternly while looking back and forth between Sohee and Cha Jinha. "There’s something you’re not telling me."

Haaah.

Sohee had no intention of letting Ahn Yujae know what Cha Jinha did to him.

I want drama, but not that kind of drama.

However, it was too late to avoid that confrontation.

"Cha Jinha, you choose," Sohee said, showing Cha Jinha one last mercy. "You either tell Ahn Yujae— or I will."

Cha Jinha’s face turned red. "I don’t know what you’re talking about—"

"I have evidence."

"..."

"And didn’t I tell you your friends already threw you under the bus?" Sohee reminded Cha Jinha, sighing. And then he turned to Ahn Yujae who looked so confused at the moment. "Yujae-ya, the one who spread that nasty rumor about me was Cha Jinha."

"Park Sohee!" Cha Jinha yelled angrily. "I’ll do it, so shut your mouth!"

***

OF COURSE, Sohee didn’t agree to have ’the’ talk in Cha Jinha’s apartment.

Cha Jinha was capable of hurting him, and Ahn Yujae was an Alpha.

As an Omega, he had to be extra careful.

I can’t trust anyone— especially those who have the ability to hurt me. It doesn’t matter if they’re kind. You can never be too careful in this world.

And, so, he suggested having the talk in the convenience store...

... two blocks away from their apartment building.

To avoid students from Yonhee, of course.

It was the right choice.

Not only the place was a bit far from their university, but it was also an open space. The three of them chose the table under the umbrella in front of the convenience store. They sat there after buying coffee.

Since it was an open space, Sohee wasn’t that affected by Ahn Yujae’s angry pheromones.

It was being carried away by the wind, after all.

"How could you do that, Cha Jinha?" Ahn Yujae asked through gritted teeth. "Sohee was just minding his own business all this time, so why do that?"

Right?

Sohee just sipped his canned coffee.

Ahn Yujae was already angry, so he didn’t need to add fuel to the fire.

Plus, if Yujae gets angrier, his pheromones will only get stronger.

"Just the fact that Park Sohee is attending the same university as we do is making me livid," Cha Jinha, obviously not remorseful at all. "And it makes me angrier that you still care about him, Yujae-ya."

"But why would you be angry that—"

"Because I’m fucking in love with you, stupid."

Aigoo.

Sohee wasn’t surprised because he had always known Cha Jinha was in love with Ahn Yujae.

But his ex-boyfriend looked so shocked.

Yep, this is why I was never bothered by Cha Jinha’s feelings for Yujae— I knew Yujae was as dense as a brick.

"Jinha-ya..."

"I couldn’t confess because I’m a Beta and you’re an Alpha, and it’s an unspoken rule that Alphas belong to Omegas. And Park Sohee is an Omega. I thought I couldn’t compete—"

"Bullshit."

Sohee only realized that he voiced out his comment when Ahn Yujae and Cha Jinha both looked at him at the same time.

Ah, crap.

Here goes nothing.

"Don’t blame it on my Secondary Gender," Sohee said. Since he already opened his mouth, why not continue yapping? "Ahn Yujae didn’t date me just because I was an Omega. If it was his only reason for dating me, then I would have dumped it as soon as I found out." He turned to his ex-boyfriend. "Am I right?"

"Yes," Ahn Yujae said without missing a heartbeat. "I don’t care about a person’s Secondary Gender— I care more about their personality. And that’s why I fell for you then, Sohee-ya."

Aww, that sounded sweet.

But honestly?

I’m too jaded for this shit.

Money.

Comfortable life.

Good food.

Those are the only things that can make my heart flutter these days.

"See?" Sohee turned to Cha Jinha. "You’re Yujae’s best friend, so you should know that he doesn’t care about a person’s Secondary Gender. So, don’t use me as an excuse as to why you couldn’t confess all this time. You know the real reason— and that has nothing to do with me."

Cha Jinha’s face turned red, obviously embarrassed.

He should be because he couldn’t confess due to his cowardice, and yet he has the audacity to blame it on me.

But wait.

I didn’t come here for this.

"Cha Jinha, you owe me a public apology."

"Park Sohee, do you think it’s the right time for that?"

"Yes," Sohee said bluntly. "I don’t care about you and Ahn Yujae anymore. If you need to talk to deal with this unexpected confession of yours, then do it later. I just need you to take down your stupid posts and make a public apology. Don’t bother apologizing now since I know you’re not sorry. But you should publicly admit your wrongdoings and clean my reputation."

Cha Jinha glared at him.

But Sohee just continued yapping.

"Dude, my husband isn’t as chill as me. He’ll sue you on my behalf if you don’t heed my advice."

It wasn’t because Kim Heedo had feelings for Sohee or something.

I just know his family wouldn’t let this slide if they found out.

Or maybe the Kim Family already knew about the rumor?

"Sohee-ya, when did you marry that kid?" Ahn Yujae asked carefully. "Is he good to you?"

"We just got married recently," Sohee said casually. "To answer your second question, yes, Kim Heedo is the best thing that happened to me."

He’s my golden goose.

It looked like Ahn Yujae had more questions for him.

So, he didn’t give his ex-boyfriend a chance to ask again.

"Yujae-ya, I’m really living my best life now. I’m no longer being chased by loan sharks, and Kim Heedo didn’t force me to marry him. That kid and his family are very good to me, so don’t worry about me anymore," Sohee said in a serious tone. "If you want to make it up to me, then please knock some sense into Cha Jinha’s head before he gets sued."

***

’JUST GOT MARRIED?’

Kim Heedo almost dropped his phone when he saw that announcement on Kosmos’ official page.

There was even a picture attached to the post.

It was a photo of Lee Junsu and Sanha wearing white tuxedos while walking down what seemed like an aisle.

<"Congratulations on your marriage, Kosmos’ Jamie and Antiheroes’ Sanha!">

That was the top comment under the post.

Heedo felt his heart drop to the floor, breaking into tiny pieces.

What is this bullshit?
