Chapter 51: BEAUTY OVERLOAD

"WOW," Sohee said while looking at the computer tablets on the table. "We actually did pretty well, huh?"

Hong Sera and Cho Euntak nodded eagerly.

Sohee’s computer tablet showed the rough sketches for ’Gacha Girl’— the female lead (FL)— and the four potential male leads, aka the virtual boys that the FL was trying to pull via playing gacha/drawing game.

On the other hand, Cho Euntak’s computer tablet was colorful. He drew the webcomics ’aurora lights’— aka the lights that would flash to indicate that the main character had pulled a rare or 5-star card.

Cho Euntak also painted the main character’s aesthetic bedroom and computer set-up.

The kid used the watercolor brush, so his drawing looks soft and fluffy.

"Sohee Oppa, Euntak-ah, both of you are so talented," Hong Sera said, heaving a dreamy sigh while looking at their sketchbooks. "Euntak-ah, I love how vibrant and fluffy your colored sketches look. Sohee Oppa, the way you drew our Gacha Girl is like how I described her in my script. She’s so cute!"

Hong Sera’s reaction seemed genuine.

I’m glad that she liked our works.

"Sohee Oppa, Euntak-ah, let’s join the contest," Hong Sera said, clasping her hands together while giving them puppy dog eyes. "Please be my artists."

"Noona, your beauty is blinding," Cho Euntak said, avoiding Hong Sera’s gaze shyly. "When you’re looking at us with those sparkling eyes, I feel like I’d even give you all the money I have if you ask for it."

Pfft.

What Cho Euntak said was funny, but it was also true.

Sera is a Beta, but she’s prettier than most Omegas known for their beauty.

"I’d love to work with you on this project, Sera-ya," Sohee said, smiling. "But is it allowed?"

"Of course," Hong Sera said, nodding. "We just need one account to post the webcomics. It doesn’t matter if a group of writers and artists work together as long as they use one account. Should we think of a group name for our team?"

"I actually don’t mind if you use your name, Sera-ya," Sohee said casually. "You can just give me a shout out or something."

"Same here," Cho Euntak added. "I’m already happy just to be included in this wonderful project."

"You two don’t know what you’re talking about," Hong Sera said while shaking her head. "Many aspiring writers and artists join the annual YonheeToon Awards not only to win the contest— they use it as an opportunity to get scouted by major webcomics and novelkiss platforms. That’s how famous YonheeToon Awards is outside our university. Most of the previous winners and runner-ups are now working as artists in big companies like NaviToon."

Oh.

So, this is really a major thing then.

"Let’s form a proper team. This is an opportunity for the three of us to get discovered by big companies," Hong Sera said cheerfully. "And I’m going to compensate you for this. I won’t make you work for free."

Before Sohee and Cho Euntak could refuse...

"I insist," Hong Sera said. "Please let me do this for you."

Sohee and Cho Euntak turned to each other and communicate via their eyes.

It seemed like they were thinking of the same thing.

Hong Sera has already made up her mind.

"You should pay us in advance then," Sohee said jokingly. "Should we get a drink or something?"

The two kids answered at the same time, both enthusiastic.

"Yes, Oppa!"

"I’d love to, Hyung."

Thank goodness both of them are legal to drink.

But both Hong Sera and Cho Euntak were from wealthy families, so...

"Sera-ya, Euntak-ah, have you tried drinking in a pojangmacha?" Sohee asked, grinning. He was talking about those ’tent bars’ that sold street food. "Do you want to drink with me there?"

***

"TSK."

"Tsk."

Kim Heedo clicked his tongue at Baek Jeho, and Baek Jeho clicked his tongue back at him.

This rude brat...

"Jaeho-ya, did you just click your tongue at your Heedo Hyung?" Kang Dohwa, who witnessed that exchange, scolded Baek Jeho. "Why are you being rude to your elder?"

Heh.

Of course, Heedo was delighted to see Baek Jeho being scolded by a person that both of them respected.

Being dragged to the Student Council Room is now worth it.

Yes, after having coffee with Kang Dohwa, his hyung-nim dragged him to the Student Council Room to help him with some work. Only the two of them were there until Baek Jeho— an official member— joined.

Baek Jeho is the Department Representative.

Baek Jeho, who noticed Kang Dohwa belatedly, immediately bowed politely. "Hello, Dohwa Hyung-nim."

Heedo rolled his eyes.

Look at this brat address Dohwa Hyung as ’hyung-nim’ when he can’t do the same to me.

"Save the pleasantries," Kang Dohwa said while nodding. "Did you fight with Heedo during the time we didn’t see each other?"

"It’s not like that, Hyung-nim," Baek Jeho denied while shaking his head. "Heedo Sunbae-nim is simply annoying, so I don’t wish to be associated with him."

"Yah," Heedo complained. "How am I annoying?"

"You picked a fight with my friend," Baek Jeho reminded him bitterly. "That kid is a Recessive Alpha with a weak heart. Did you have to scare him like that, sunbae-nim?"

"..."

"You didn’t apologize to him."

"..."

"Aigoo, Heedo-ya." Kang Dohwa scolded Heedo this time. "It seems like Jeho is telling the truth since you’re not denying it. You’re not bullying Alphas inferior to you, are you?"

This time, it was who Baek Jeho who smirked— obviously enjoying the fact that Heedo was being scolded by their favorite hyung-nim.

Heedo wanted to explain, but the door opened.

Han Raehyun and Jin Minki entered the Student Council Room.

Ah, right.

Jin Minki is also a part of the Student Council, and he’s the Department Representative for the Korean Literature Department.

After exchanging polite greetings, Jin Minki went straight to Kang Dohwa.

It seemed like it had something to do with the upcoming festival since Baek Jeho also joined the conversation.

So, now, Heedo was left with Han Raehyun.

He really didn’t want to make a small talk with Hong Sera’s boyfriend.

Fortunately, he didn’t have to.

Yang Jaewon and Kwon Gaon’s timing was impeccable.

"Dude, I’m glad you’re all here," Yang Jaewon said, his eyes addressing almost everyone in the room. "Heedo-ya, Jeho-ya, Raehyun-ah, did you make your partners cry?"

"Sohee Hyung cried?"

"Sera cried?"

"I don’t have a partner?"

"I’m talking about your friend that Heedo bullied last time, Jeho-ya," Yang Jaewon explained, and then he showed his phone to them. "Somebody posted this photo on the community board, and it has gone viral since then."

Of course, Heedo immediately checked the photo in question.

Baek Jeho excused himself from his conversation with Kang Dohwa and Jin Minki, and then he also checked the photo.

And so did Han Raehyun.

Park Sohee, Cho Euntak, and Hong Sera were drinking in what seemed like a tent?

The three were, indeed, crying in the photo.

However...

"So fucking pretty."

Sohee, Baek Jeho, and Han Raehyun looked at each other after saying the same thing at the same time.

"I’m talking about Sohee Hyung."

"I’m talking about Cho Euntak."

"I’m talking about Sera."

"Yes, yes, they’re pretty— and everyone else thinks so as well," Kwon Gaon said while scrolling through the comments. "People are already saying that Sohee Hyung, Cho Euntak, and Hong Sera are the prettiest Omega, Alpha, and Beta— respectively— in Yonhee University."

Sohee had always known that Park Sohee was pretty.

But why am I annoyed that other people are mesmerized by his beauty, too?

***

SUNDAE. Tteokbokki. Fish cake.

Those were the three simple dishes that Sohee ordered to pair with soju.

It was Hong Sera and Cho Euntak’s first time in a tent bar, so he decided to have mercy on the kids.

"This isn’t my first time having tteokbokki and fish cake, but this is my first time having sundae," Hong Sera said, already a bit tipsy after only two bottles of soju. "It isn’t visually appealing, but it tastes good."

Cho Euntak smiled and nodded. "I usually just pair soju with either chicken or samgyupsal. But this is also good— I enjoyed our meal."

This one is already tipsy as well.

Sohee was the most sober out of the three of them.

And that was why he was the only who noticed that the tent bar was suddenly full, and most customers were people their age.

Some of them were also wearing the varsity jacket of their university.

I’m pretty sure they’re looking at us.

But why?

None of them was a celebrity.

"Oppa, my heart really hurts for our Gacha Girl," Hong Sera said, smiling sadly. "Should I change the ending?"

Aigoo.

We already cried earlier when we talked about the ending, and now we’re crying again.

Anyways...

Hong Sera’s beautiful face shined even more now that she was crying.

No wonder most people around them couldn’t help but stare.

"Noona, the ending hurts but I don’t want to change a thing," Cho Euntak said in a cracked voice. "I love our Gacha Girl."

Oh.

A melancholic-looking Cho Euntak was also beautiful.

Ah, so these people are looking because of Sera and Euntak.

Understandable.

"Uhm, excuse me?"

Hmm?

Sohee raised his head and saw three students from another university approach them.

All men, all Alphas.

Aigoo.

"Do you mind if we join your table?"

Sohee was just about to reject the guy, but the entire tent bar was suddenly filled with thick pheromones coming out from angry Alphas.

Yes, with ’s.’

When Sohee turned to entrance, he saw the cause of everyone’s discomfort.

Baek Jeho.

Han Raehyun.

And Kim Heedo?
