Chapter 74: PAYBACK

["SO, YOU WOULDN’T have married Kim Heedo if he were poor?"]

That was the question that Kim Heedo heard Choi Namgyu ask Park Sohee when he returned to the restaurant.

Yes, he had been listening for that long.

And I regret not doing something right away.

Hong Sera sent Heedo several messages when Choi Namgyu arrived and started picking on Park Sohee. He immediately returned to the restaurant with Yang Jaewon, Kwon Gaon, and Han Raehyun.

The three of them stayed near the entrance, listening to the interesting conversation,

It wasn’t hard to do since Choi Namgyu was being loud on purpose.

On the other hand, Park Sohee’s voice was clear and calm.

["Namgyu-ya, to answer your question earlier, yes— I would still marry Kim Heedo even if he were poor. Didn’t I say his money was only one of the reasons why I married him? Actually, the real reason I married Kim Heedo is because of his face."]

That was the answer that made Heedo smile.

He knew that Park Sohee was obsessed with his face, and he was fine with it even if that was the only thing his hyung liked about him.

["Even if Kim Heedo were poor, his face alone would inspire me to work harder to feed the two of us. But, kidding aside, even if Kim Heedo were born poor, I think he would still be successful in life. Alphas are born superior to others, and that’s why most of them are on top of the food chain."]

Heedo was still savoring the nice things that Park Sohee said about him when Choi Namgyu said a sarcastic remark about the possibility of Heedo lying about being a Dominant Alpha.

Park Sohee didn’t answer, so Heedo was surprised when Choi Namgyu suddenly got up and poured beer over Park Sohee’s head.

That bastard...!

It didn’t end there.

That damned Choi Namgyu even tried to throw the glass at Park Sohee!

If that half-Korean from the Webtoon Reading Club hadn’t stopped Choi Namgyu’s violence in time, Park Sohee would have been hurt again.

Hence, Heedo regretted not stepping in from the start.

He couldn’t remember what happened after he saw that his husband almost got hurt.

I think I remember throwing my car key at Han Raehyun and asking him to fetch the extra shirt I always have in my car.

After that, Heedo’s vision turned red because of anger.

If Park Sohee hadn’t called him and brought him back to his senses, he would have lost it and beat up Choi Namgyu to a pulp.

"Heedo-ya, you’re making a scary face."

Oh.

Heedo lifted his head.

Park Sohee’s hair was still wet after he washed it, but he had already changed into the shirt that Heedo handed him.

He liked what he saw.

My shirt looks loose on Hyung, but he doesn’t look awkward since he has good body proportions.

At the moment, Heedo and Park Sohee were in the fancy lounge area of the Cabin Coffee’s restroom.

It’s the café on the third floor of the restaurant, also owned by Han Raehyun’s family.

The staff members had been very helpful. They provided Sohee with a clean towel and a hair dryer. And they also made sure that no one else would use the private lounge area until Heedo and Park Sohee were done.

"You’re not going to kill Choi Namgyu, are you?"

Pfft.

Just like that, Sohee Hyung already improved my mood.

Moreover, Park Sohee’s scent didn’t only smell good to Heedo— it also had the power to soothe him instantly.

I really like Hyung’s pheromones.

"Hyung, you say the silliest things," Heedo said, standing up when he noticed that Park Sohee was about to dry his hair with the fancy hair dryer in his hand. "Let me do it for you, Hyung."

"Am I a kid?"

"Please?"

"Aigoo. How dare you use your face card against me?"

Heedo just shrugged.

Now that I know Hyung is weak against my face, I plan to use it every chance I get.

"Here," Park Sohee said, handing him the fancy hair dryer. "Have you done this before?"

"Yes."

"Lee Junsu?"

"Kim Haewon," Heedo said while using the hair dryer on Park Sohee as carefully as possible. He had to raise his voice a little because even though the fancy hair dryer was more silent than the others, it was still a hair dryer meant to make noises. "Hyung knows how vain my younger sister is, right? That brat even forced me to learn how to do her hair when I was in high school. Braid, bun, and even curls— I did it all for her."

Park Sohee chuckled, and then he spoke in a slightly louder voice, too. "Aww, what a doting older brother."

"No, it was against my will."

"Yeah, sure," Park Sohee said, laughing softly. But then he suddenly got serious. "Heedo-ya, how’s Kim Hanhae? Is he still mad?"

Heedo nodded, sighing. "He’s still grounded and heavily monitored. And he still blames me for "sabotaging" his relationship. I heard he’s being difficult even towards the household staff members who are just trying to look after him."

"Then I suppose Kim Hanhae is also mad at me."

"I won’t let him lash out at you, Hyung."

"Kids these days are scary, so thank you for saying that."

"You’re scared of Kim Hanhae’s temper, but you didn’t hesitate to confront Choi Namgyu," Heedo complained lightly. "You said you’d act like a damsel tonight, Hyung. Why didn’t you call me as soon as Choi Namgyu started bothering you?"

"Well, a rebellious teenager is scarier than a man in his twenties throwing a tantrum," Park Sohee said, shrugging. "And as soon as I realized that Choi Namgyu was trying to find fault in your personal life, I couldn’t stop myself from putting him in his place. I’m sorry for causing trouble, Heedo-ya."

"Not at all, Hyung," Heedo said firmly. "You didn’t cause trouble. And I like the fact that you stood up for me. Thank you, and I mean it."

"Aww. Where’s my reward then?"

Heedo broke into a wide smile.

He knew that Park Sohee was only joking, however...

Why not?

"I’ll buy you a car this weekend, Hyung."

"Yah. You know I’m only joking," Park Sohee complained. "Mother-in-law and Father-in-law have been asking me to go car shopping with them all this time, so please don’t join them. I might end up giving in at this rate."

"Hyung should give in to me."

"And why would I do that?"

"Because you can’t resist my handsome face?"

"Aigoo," Park Sohee complained. "You discovered my weakness."

"Don’t worry, Hyung— I won’t use your weakness to harm you."

"I know you wouldn’t, kid. But even if you did, I know how to throw a punch or two. I may be an Omega, but I’m still a man like you. The chances of me winning against you in a physical fight are low, but never zero."

Heedo chuckled, but he knew that Park Sohee was 100% serious.

Hyung is a survivor, so I wouldn’t underestimate him even though I know I’m physically stronger than him— I wouldn’t dare.

"Heedo-ya, don’t beat him up. I’m talking about Choi Namgyu," Park Sohee said in a serious tone. "You can pour beer over his head like he did to me, but nothing more than that. We have to maintain our position as the victims here so that bastard’s social life would end pathetically. But if you resort to violence, people might turn around and criticize us. It will be especially bad once people find out that you’re the grandson of Ilsung Group. You can’t keep that a secret forever. And once it leaks, people would accuse you of abusing your power as a third-generation chaebol."

Aww.

Heedo was touched that Park Sohee had already looked that far ahead.

Hyung is really good at taking care of me.

"Anyway, you know how it goes, Heedo-ya. Bullies get away with their harassment all the time. But once their victims fight back, the victims get punished instead of the bullies."

"Hyung, I won’t resort to violence."

Well, Hyung wouldn’t know anyway.

"Good."

Heedo smiled "brightly." "I’ll "kill" that bastard in a different way."

Park Sohee chuckled nervously. "Well, if you’ve already decided what to do, then I’ll just cheer you on— crush that bastard properly, Heedo-ya."

"HOW’S SOHEE Hyung, Heedo-ya?"

"Hyung is fine, thankfully," Kim Heedo said in response to Yang Jaewon’s question. "Hyung didn’t want to end the party like that, so he insisted on staying."

Yang Jaewon and Kwon Gaon brought Choi Namgyu to the smoking area.

And his friends were quick to "seal" the place.

The restaurant’s staff members had already closed the smoking area to the other guests (probably under Han Raehyun’s orders), while there were bodyguards around dressed in plain clothes from Kwon Gaon’s security team.

They’re there to prevent creating witnesses.

On the other hand, Heedo left the restaurant again.

But he entrusted Park Sohee to Hong Sera and Han Raehyun.

Han Raehyun is the type to throw a punch first, so he won’t let anyone bother Hyung.

"I’ll join Hyung soon since we can’t let another bad rumor about us spread," Heedo said, and then he shot a cold look at Choi Namgyu. "That’s why I’ll end this quickly."

Choi Namgyu flinched.

The bastard couldn’t run away because Kwon Gaon was smoking next to him.

Everyone knows Kwon Gaon is strong. Even now, the Physical Education Department hasn’t given up on recruiting him.

Hence, Choi Namgyu knew he’d only get hurt if he tried to run away.

"If you touch me, you’re dead," Choi Namgyu threatened Heedo, putting on a strong façade even though his pupils were shaking from fear. "I’ll make sure that not even Hong Sera could not help you—"

"Do you remember what this is, Sunbae-nim?" Heedo said, cutting off the bastard while lifting the empty glass in his hand. Yeah, he grabbed that glass before he stepped out. "You tried to throw this thing at Sohee Hyung’s face."

Kwon Gaon swiftly and quickly stepped away from Choi Namgyu.

"So what—"

Heedo threw the glass hard before Choi Namgyu could even finish talking.

No, he didn’t aim at the bastard’s face— he aimed for the wall.

But the glass shattered next to Choi Namgyu’s face, hence some of the broken shards cut him on the face and neck.

Nice.

"You bastard!" Choi Namgyu yelled while covering his bleeding cheek with his hand. "I’ll make you pay for this!"

"Go ahead," Heedo said, smiling. "I even dare you to sue me, Choi Namgyu."

FORTUNATELY for Sohee, the festive mood in the restaurant instantly returned.

It was as if everyone collectively agreed to pretend that the ’Choi Namgyu Incident’ didn’t happen.

But I can tell everyone is being overprotective of me...

In fact, Sohee found himself seated between Hong Sera and Han Raehyun.

"Sohee Oppa, your phone," Hong Sera said, pointing at his phone on the table. "It keeps vibrating."

Hmm?

I got a message.

Sohee thanked Hong Sera, and then he quickly read the message he got.

<"Sir, we’re done inspecting your old phone. We found a hidden tracker, and there are also signs that your old phone has been cloned.">

Oh.
