Martial Arts Worlds-Chapter 421: Zaccari vs. Park
Smiles were on the faces of Yokai Dojo's students as they had regained another lifeline.
Their first-ever score appeared on the board, and now the score was two-one in Ghoul Dojo's favor, but at least they now had a chance for victory!
"Ren would be an incredible fighter if he could just deal with pain."
Dante said aloud.
"No, I don't think he would be any stronger. Because of his fear of pain, his survival instincts are always working at full capacity, and that makes him strong."
Kiernan said.
Dante raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Kiernan is correct. Ren is powerful because of his fear. If he doesn't fear getting hit, then he wouldn't make decisions that make him strong in the first place."
Master Arakawa said.
Dante nodded in understanding and then said.
"At the end of the fight, when Ren put Koa in the chokehold with her own arm, he dropped his guard, didn't he?"
"He did, and that almost cost him the fight. He didn't believe that he could get hit from the position he was in. His fear disappeared, and his survival instincts stopped working."
Master Arakawa said.
"I would like to fight him and see how well he does against my speed~ However, he would never want to do a simple sparring match."
Gunwoo said with a heavy sigh.
At that moment, the gong sounded, and the temple priest stood at the center of the battle sand, his arms crossed behind his arm.
It was obvious what he was waiting for.
For the two masters of the dojo.
Without wasting a single breath, Master Arakawa and Sifu stood up and made their way down to the temple priest.
The gold coin was already on the temple priest's palm, showing heads, and without a word, he tossed it into the air.
"Tails!"
Master Arakawa shouted.
The gold coin reached the end of its flight and came falling down with the gravity assisting it, landing on the soft palm.
It was showing tails.
"Master Arakawa has won the coin flip. The first fighter will be chosen by Master Sifu."
The temple priest said, and pocketed the gold coin.
With a sigh of relief, Master Arakawa returned back to his fighters and could tell that Sifu's mood wasn't the best.
The momentum was clearly on Yokai Dojo's side, and now, Master Arakawa had the chance of regaining the upper hand with his choice.
"…"
Master Sifu looked at his fighters and landed on a blond-haired young man, whose blue eyes shone like gemstones.
It was clear that he was tired of waiting.
"Arturo. You're up."
"Yeah!"
With a smirk, Arturo stood up and tossed aside his yukata, donning only his fighting gi, and walked with his head high towards the battle sand.
Everyone's gaze followed him as this choice surprised most.
It surprised them that Arturo was fighting this early in the tournament, as he could be considered to be number two among Ghoul Dojo's fighters.
Only one person was clearly stronger than him, but a debate could be held that he was Ghoul Dojo's second strongest fighter!
"They are bringing out their big guns. I guess they really want it to be a three-to-one score."
Dante said aloud and cracked his knuckles.
He had a hunch that he would be chosen as Arturo's opponent.
"If they win this round, Sifu hopes that he will win the next coin flip, and once Master Arakawa has chosen his fighter, he will most likely send Leon to finish the match."
Kiernan said.
"You're correct, Kiernan. With that thought process, I would also be forced to send my strongest fighter, and once I have, Sifu can just send the weakest one they have left and then let Leon finish off the round after that."
Master Arakawa said with a frown.
"So, what're we going to do?"
Dante asked.
Master Arakawa looked at him and then turned to the speed-legged young man.
"Gunwoo. You're up now."
"Oh?"
Gunwoo rubbed the back of his head, nodded, and jumped to his feet. When he removed his yukata, Gunwoo revealed his well-defined muscles and scars from years of training.
He was wearing black athletic shorts underneath and made it so that he wasn't wearing any loose stuff that could hinder his speed.
"Are you sure, master? Arturo is strong."
Dante said.
"I need you three to be my last three fighters."
Master Arakawa said with a heavy expression.
"…"
Dante turned to the side and looked at the two lovers with a conflicted look in his eyes.
While he knew how strong Aoi was, Kiernan was a complete mystery to him, but he knew that he was strong, as he was able to fight both him and Gunwoo on equal terms.
There was also the amazing sight of him controlling the godly thunder with zero fear and fighting Master Arakawa in a battle that shook the foundation of the dojo.
"Whew, I got this, haha!"
Gunwoo said with a smirk, stepped onto the sand, and met Arturo at the center of the battle sand.
"Finally, Yokai Dojo sent a member of their three monsters group, Gunwoo the Speedster!"
"However, I am not sure if they have noticed, but the ground they're fighting on is sand. Wouldn't that hinder his speed?"
"Well, we will see soon enough!"
Gong~
The gong sounded.
"Arturo Zaccari vs. Gunwoo Park—FIGHT!"
The temple priest shouted and waved his arm down.
Instantly, Gunwoo jumped off the ground and roundhouse kicked towards Arturo's unguarded face.
But Arturo moved his head out of the way, and as Gunwoo landed back on the sand, he thrust his fists towards him.
Gunwoo faced the onslaught of punches and slapped them away with his lightning-quick reflexes.
Smack! Smack! Smack!
At that moment, Gunwoo blitzed behind him and threw a powerful punch to the back, but Arturo dodged it just in time and countered with a swift kick to Gunwoo's side.
Gunwoo crossed to the right, dodging the kick, and threw a wild haymaker that Arturo easily ducked under.
"Whoah!"
"This is a really high-level match!"
"The first three matches have only been appetizers! Now the strongest of the dojos are battling!"
