Marvel: My Luck Is A Hundred Million Points Better!-Chapter 168 The Most Miserable God King In History!
Chapter 168 - 168 The Most Miserable God King In History!
Luo Bai had never intended to hide the fact that he possessed fairy power.
After all, the Celestials had been hunting down the power of the fairies for a long time. There was no way to conceal it forever—it would be discovered sooner or later.
But delaying that discovery could still be beneficial.
Not only would it allow him more time to grow stronger, but it would also give him the chance to obtain more artifacts.
Just like the Ultimate Nullifier.
Luo Bai had always known about its existence. The main reason he hadn't rushed to get it before was that its nature was different from other artifacts.
It didn't just require raw power—it also demanded a strong mind and an unshakable will.
Now, however, the timing was perfect.
With the Celestials approaching, he could use them to test the power of the Ultimate Nullifier.
That said, relying solely on the Ultimate Nullifier to defeat all the Celestials would be extremely difficult.
After all, the Celestials weren't as weak as people might assume. They were also known as the Cosmic Gods—a race of ancient and immensely powerful cosmic entities.
Their numbers were unknown, as not all of them had appeared in recorded history. But currently, at least 1,256 Celestials were known to exist, with the weakest among them already at the level of a single universe.
They were more than just an army—they were one of the oldest races in the universe.
To human civilization, their purpose was incomprehensible.
They existed to maintain the balance and energy flow of the cosmos, preventing the universe from falling into a state of "heat death."
Their role was to create and regulate everything in existence, including overseeing the evolution of intelligent life.
And because of that duty, they frequently carried out mass "demolitions" across the multiverse.
If they deemed a species too weak, they destroyed it without hesitation.
Earth had already been targeted by the Celestials before.
They first arrived when Earth was still in its primitive state, conducting genetic experiments on early humans.
Their interference enraged the gods of Earth, leading to a desperate counterattack led by Odin and the other All-Fathers.
As expected, they were utterly defeated.
Though the Celestials ultimately left and Earth was spared, Odin himself was left deeply scarred by the experience.
In the past, Odin had been ambitious—his desire to rule the universe was nearly boundless.
But after that battle... he became much more restrained.
It wasn't just that he realized he couldn't defeat the Celestials—it was that he discovered something even more terrifying.
The Celestials who had come to Earth weren't even their strongest members. They were merely a group of scouting pioneers.
That revelation shook Odin to his core.
And he wasn't the only one. Even the fairy power itself had suffered a terrible loss at the hands of the Celestials.
Fairy power was one of the few forces in existence that could grow infinitely.
Its potential was terrifying—if nurtured properly, it could even become the most powerful force in the universe.
Because of its overwhelming confidence in its own growth, fairy power had once been extremely arrogant.
It had driven its previous hosts to consume countless lifeforms across the cosmos.
Unsurprisingly, this had eventually drawn the attention of the Celestials.
A brutal and grueling battle followed.
The fairy power fought against the Celestials, but in the end, it was defeated and sealed away for research.
No one knew exactly how it had escaped.
But now, with the Celestials setting their sights on it again, the fairy power was clearly uneasy.
At this moment, Luo Bai could hear its voice complaining in his mind.
"It's them again! It's them again! These damn Celestials are so annoying!!!"
Hearing its frustrated complaints, Luo Bai couldn't help but chuckle.
He asked teasingly, "Are you afraid of them?"
The fairy power scoffed. "I'm not afraid of them! They're just annoying! They're like cockroaches—one team falls, another takes its place! They sent five different teams just to capture my ancestor! And each one was stronger than the last!"
Luo Bai nodded. It had a point.
There were simply too many Celestials, and each of them possessed unfathomable power.
Some were completely unaffected by artifacts like the Infinity Stones or even the Ultimate Nullifier.
And while Luo Bai's luck had always been extraordinary, he couldn't rely on luck forever.
If he wanted to defeat the Celestials once and for all, he needed a more reliable plan.
It seemed that evolving into the White Phoenix King had to become a priority.
Thinking this, Luo Bai muttered, "Looks like I'll have to embark on a long journey."
No sooner had he spoken than Captain Marvel's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"What journey are you talking about?"
Only then did Luo Bai remember—he had been in the middle of a conversation with Captain Marvel before the Celestials' "declaration of war" distracted him.
Snapping back to reality, he responded calmly, "It's nothing. Did you need something, Carol?"
Captain Marvel hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"I just wanted to ask you about Nick Fury. Were you the one who exiled him into space?"
Nick Fury?
Luo Bai blinked. He had nearly forgotten about that.
Captain Marvel had always been close to Nick Fury, so it made sense that she'd ask about it.
But how had she found out?
Had Nick Fury sought her out after being exiled?
Smiling slightly, Luo Bai tested the waters. "So, I take it Fury came to you after I exiled him?"
Captain Marvel didn't deny it. She simply nodded. "Yes. He found me and claimed he was in danger, so I rescued him. I was curious about how he ended up in space, and he told me you were the one who exiled him."
"So after rescuing him, you arranged for him to join S.W.O.R.D.?" Luo Bai asked.
Captain Marvel seemed momentarily surprised before nodding. "Yes, I sent him to S.W.O.R.D. But what I don't understand is—why would someone as powerful as the Sorcerer Supreme go out of their way to target an ordinary man like Nick Fury?"
"Target him?"
Luo Bai frowned.
He was about to respond when a booming voice interrupted the conversation.
It was Thor.
"The Sorcerer Supreme is the guardian of Earth and my mentor! I don't recommend you talk to him that way, Carol. Do you even realize he just fought Galactus alone?!"
As Thor spoke, he walked toward Luo Bai.
As soon as he finished speaking, Loki also chimed in, "You're quite rude, woman. How can you speak to the Sorcerer Supreme like that!?"
The two of them approached Luo Bai together, with Hela following behind.
Although she remained silent, the hostility in her gaze toward Captain Marvel was unmistakable.
Once she reached Luo Bai, Hela suddenly asked, "Do you want me to kill her? She annoys me."
Luo Bai: "......"
Even though Loki wasn't Odin's biological son, the three siblings were undeniably alike.
Their words left Captain Marvel momentarily speechless.
Realizing she was outnumbered on Earth, Captain Marvel softened her tone.
"I'm not trying to blame you. I just hope you'll give Nick Fury a chance. He's not a bad person," she said.
Luo Bai merely smiled and ignored her. Instead, he turned to Thor and the others and asked curiously, "To be honest, I'm surprised, Hela. Are you really coexisting peacefully with Thor and Loki?"
As soon as he said that, Thor immediately complained, "Peace? Not even close."
Luo Bai, you have no idea. I can't stay in Asgard anymore.
Before, I only had to deal with Loki, but now Loki has teamed up with my sister, Hela. I feel like I can't be the God King any longer.
I finally understand why my father made you my teacher.
Are you free? Would you consider staying in Asgard for a while?"
"I think I really need you, Luo Bai," Thor said, his eyes full of helplessness.
And honestly, it made sense.
Loki's nature was to side with whoever was stronger.
Between Hela and Thor, Loki obviously leaned toward Hela.
As long as Hela didn't actively harm Thor, Loki would happily conspire with her to make Thor's life miserable.
Thor's situation in Asgard was truly pitiful.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he was probably the most miserable God King in history.
As Luo Bai pondered this, Hela casually said, "Thor, my dear brother. You should know that if it weren't for the contract Luo Bai made with me, I wouldn't have stood by and let you take the throne. In my eyes, you have never been a worthy God King."
Loki smirked and added mercilessly, "That's true. You can't do anything without your hammer, my dear brother."
"......"
Thor fell silent.
He turned to Luo Bai with a desperate expression and said, "See? This is what I have to deal with in Asgard. I really hope you can help me, Luo Bai."
Although Luo Bai sympathized with Thor, he simply said, "Thor, these struggles are necessary for you to become a true God King. Hang in there!"
Thor: "..."
Silence again.
Though Thor was clearly exasperated, fortunately, the others seemed to be joking.
Hela didn't appear to have any real intention of harming him.
So, Thor decided not to dwell on it and changed the subject.
"Alright, let's get back to the real issue. Luo Bai, has the Planet Devourer left Earth? He's not coming back, right?"
At the mention of this, Luo Bai's expression turned serious.
"For now, Galactus shouldn't return. But something even more troublesome is approaching—the Celestials will soon descend upon Earth."
